The is a HUGE programming bug in the latest update to Midnight Castle. People in the BF forums are reporting that the game freezes or causes their computers to crash. It appears to happen whenever an action that would result in an achievement being earned is performed. Playing while trying NOT to get an achievement is a PITA.

Aren't they icky Anki. I generally only see them if I've picked up some old books. They do like old wood and paper. They move so fast!
Happy June 1st everyone! It's a beautiful sunny day here. I'm going to do some gardening today.

Stuesue, I don´t recommend Queen of Shadows at all It even went downhill after the demo. Just like you I was only playing mechanically.
I really like Jewel Match 4 Just one more level...
Thanks, Anki. Looks like I'll be giving it a miss, then. Sorry you were so disappointed, especially as you got the CE.
Jewel Match IV is on my short list of games to get from GameHouse but I always wait until I have a GCC or PCC about to expire before deciding on which game/s I'm going to get as maybe something better will be released in the meantime. And it's not as if I have no games to play while I wait!

Lucky you, Oscar! First day of summer here and it's been cold and overcast and grey and dark all day. I've been in warm pants and jumper all day!
But that did give me time to play the main game of Grim Tales: The Vengeance CE. Wow, it's looooooong and exhausting! I estimate it took me about 6-1/2 hours, give or take. And that was playing in Hardcore Mode with no hints and skips and only looking at the SG when I got really stuck, like when I just could not work out what to do or where to go so eventually looked in the SG and found that I didn't have what I needed to continue. So searched back through the SG but couldn't find where I could get another machete, as I'd already used it. So went searching in the forums and found out that it was a glitch and, fortunately, someone's suggestion worked! Thank heavens, as there was no way I was going to replay most of the game!
But I missed the very first morphing object, forgetting that there were morphing objects and, once you've gone you can't go back. So I won't be getting that achievement. And, speaking of achievements, you start with 10 showing then, as you get some, more get added, ending up with, at the end of the main game, 17. I don't how many, if any, will be added in the bonus chapter, which I'm going to play tomorrow as I'm exhausted and have had enough for today. But I may not know the final number as I haven't got the achievement for 5 HOPs in a row in less than 3 minutes each and there may be another one after that, perhaps 10 in a row. I only just got the achievement for 3 HOPs in a row in under 3 minutes each.
But what a great game! So superior to the last couple of Elephant offerings! I'll play the bonus chapter tomorrow and see if I'm glad I got the CE or not.

I played Jewel Match 3 and loved it. I'm looking forward to Jewel Match 4 when it comes to BF. It will be a buy for sure. Glad to know that Grim Tales: The Vengeance CE is a good one. What do you think of Awakening: Redleaf Forest CE? try it yet?

Sorry, Barre, but I haven't demoed it yet. It's downloaded but I spent all day playing Grim Tales so I haven't managed to get around to demoing it yet. It's up next.
I haven't played any of the Jewel Match games and haven't even heard of them before. But IV looks great.

I know I'm a bit late today - blame Grim Tales - but the FREE game at Game Giveaway of the Day today is:
Twisted Lands: Shadow Town
I imagine everyone has this one but, if not, it's definitely worth downloading for FREE !

After gardening I decided to play a game and ended up playing Haunted Halls Nightmare Dweller. Personally I though it was a trip. I did really enjoy it, it was quite fun. While the series has lost the creepy element that I recall from the first two it was still a good time. There were some different puzzles and a lot to do. the game was broken down into chapters so after dealling with each nightmare you ended up at home base. Again personally I didn't find it cutesy, there was no animal helper, but you did pick up the odd animal here and there for the zoo. What exacly was the purpose of the zoo and the hamster, I'm not really sure but they were not intrusive. The game with the goggles that people complained about, I think it only game up 6 times, once in each segment and I wasn't bothered by it. It was about as repetitive as Edwina and her cards. Just part of the game to get a message (usually something you already knew, lol). Often times yes I do wish the little drop down from the top wouldn't happen everytime I found something special or got an achievement. But lets face it if it didn't happen I would be thinking hmm did that register did I get that and Id have to go and look on the main screen. Damned if you do damned if you don't. Maybe they could solve it with a little lock like on the inventoy panel.

Looks like the programming "bug" is going to turn out that some people's computers just aren't up to handling Midnight Castle. Somebody posted that they were able to get an achievement without any problems and that her laptop had 2 cpu's. Since my laptop is an ASUS Republic of Gamers and has 8 cpu's, I decided to chance it and earned an achievement. So I'm good to play, but people with older machines and/or less expensive ones are not going to be very happy.
Elephant Games is going to be adding some very interesting new content. Even if you originally decided to give this game a miss, you might want to read the section of this blog article regarding clubs and global events. You might change your mind.
