Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

oscar -- I have both those games but, of course, I haven't played them yet.   I should get a rubber stamp for my posts!

Out of curiosity I looked at the purchase date for CURSE OF THE PHARAOH: TEARS OF SEKHMET. I bought that in July, 2010!

stusue -- Just the name HIDDEN MEMORIES OF A BRIGHT SUMMER DAY makes me want to play that game!  I was surprised and happy to see another BCA in your list.  Rio makes sense because of the World Cup and (maybe) the Summer Olympics in 2016 -- if they get the venues completed.  Oh, and if you bicycle the long way to the Chinese Buffet you can really stuff yourself.   I find myself rarely going to BFG to see what the new games are or even reading my emails. So I guess I miss games that I'd like.

Like the one you mentioned sunshinej -- FATAL PASSION: ART PRISON.  I'll have to check that out.

I passed on the CE of GRIM TALES: THE VENGEANCE.  But from what I'm reading now it seems as though it IS CE worthy?

Tirama -- All of those points about F2P are valid.  I used to play an MMOG that the DEVs thought people would play for an hour or so a day. Ummm... how about 8?   And in both of the MMOGs I played there were people who created "mule" accts to feed resources into their main accts.  Some people had paid accts for their mules, some only had a paid subscription for their main acct, some played totally free.  In the 2nd MMOG they added potion making.  You could only grow the herbs for them in dark areas.  The guy who owned the game flat-out said that people could have more than one acct BUT the alternative accts could not be used to benefit the main acct.  Of course people ignored that.  BUT if they were found out they were banned from the game.  I'd set my alternative acct up a week or so before he said that.  My main acct loaned the money to buy the bog house.  Then the alt sold the main the herbs at market price to pay back the loan.  After the loan was paid off those accts stayed separate.  My alt acct had tons mor4e money than my main because of the herbs it could grow!  And you had to have certain skills before you could make potions, so my alt just kept selling herbs while it was learning skills.  Now that I've bored you all into a stupor...

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

sunshinej - there are some very nice, kind, generous people playing Midnight Castle.  Many of the people who have already completed the update haven't said a peep about running out of quests.  They continue send gifts to their friends and some have taken down their wish lists because they don't need anything and are just happy to help others.  I'm lucky that each of my two games has a fairy godmother who sends me presents every other day (or even more often) and rarely has anything on their wish list.

It's a shame that a small group of people can generate so much negativity.  And I'm truly baffled when one of them threatens to quit and other people organize campaigns against BF and Elephant Games to force them to change things because "dear so-and-so" is leaving.

And of course legitimate complaints get lost in all the sound and fury.  Some of the hidden objects are extremely tiny.  I nearly wet myself when somebody posted "They need to make the ring in the Stone Bowl smaller.  I can still see it"  and "I've got my face so close to my iPad trying to find things, I might as well use my nose instead of my finger to click on objects."

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Tirama, the comments you mention are really fun. Some people are never satisfied

I agree about Elephant.  I just finished Royal Detective: Queen of Shadows CE. Big disappointment
Definately not CE worthy!  The BC was short and both the main game and the BC  left me with a: Uh is it finished?!
I loved the first Royal Detective and expected this to be the same. The graphics wasn´t even clear and the Queen (who we should save) looked evil so first I thought she was the "bad guy"

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

What IS it about social games that attracks some very unsocial people?

One of the old timers in the forum just attacked a newbie and told her to keep any negative thoughts to herself and if she didn't like any aspect of the game to just shut up and stop playing.  Of course, this bully hasn't said "Boo" to the longtime chronic complainers, the ones that complain about MC, ART, AK, and probably some of the other free to play games that I haven't tried.

Same guy went on a tirade a couple of weeks ago because some level 9 player had the audacity to send a friend request to him.  Carried on about how if he wants friends, HE'LL be the one to send a friend request.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

It is puzzling Tirama!  And then there was a player in ART who said feel free to send him as many messages as it took to get the 100 message Achievement!  And I did.

I just finished another game:  AWAKENING: THE SKYWARD CASTLE.  I wish I had played it before I started AK. I enjoyed the game up until the ending of chapter 4.  There were a lot of very long puzzles that I skipped.  It took me 8 hours to play the game!  I didn't get many Achievements, but that's okay.  I was puzzled by one Achievement that mentioned finishing a sudoku.  I never even saw a sudoku (and yes, I had the CE).

Now to find a short, easy, fun HOG/HOPA.

lilyr - I bet it was Dirk.  He's very nice.  Helped me a lot with advice and game tips.

Most of the people are either very nice or keep themselves to themselves.  Which is probably why the really nasty people stand out so much.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Personally I just can't get into MC and haven't tried the others.  I think it is gorgeous though.  Please excuse my typing like above. Often when I go to hit the space bar I hit the comma or m.  And of course forget to read before posting.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Tirama -- Yes it was Dirk.  He's something like level 97 so he's doing more wheelspinning than I am.

I read the comment about the MARGRAVE games so I took a look.  I'd played MARGRAVE2:  THE SHIP (don't remember a thing about it) so I decided to try THE CURSE OF THE SEVERED HEART.  It's okay but just barely wants to run on my computer.  The cursor floats at times, if I go to check the walkthrough it takes forever for the game to start up again.  Lord knows why.  Only 4 chapters and I'm just starting the 2nd.  Hope it IS as short as it seems.  My next game is definitely going to be something bright and fun.

oscar -- I tried MC but gave it up early on when you just kept playing the same 4 HOS over and over and over...  ART is okay but I LOVE AK!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I think I've got 24 HO scenes open in MC right now.  There's 20 in the Castle and so far I've opened up 4 in the Town.  I'm guessing the town will also have 20 when it's complete and there's two more locked areas on the map.

Each area has two HO scenes and three artifact chests to open (except for one room, which has only two chests for some reason).  So once you get the game going, there's lots of different places the quests send you.

And the pets are so cute.  Almost as cute as the squabbit.
