Well, I certainly got fewer games than most.  I didn't think I'd get anything but I ended up getting:

Tales of Terror: House on the Hill CE  (and I've already finished it! )
Grim Tales: The Vengeance CE

 in the BOGOF and

Surface: Reel Life SE with a PCC to fill a punch card.

But tell me, what is Memorial Day? 
 

Darn it!  I thought there was a thread for these purchases!  I couldn't find it so I posted in the main Finish Your Challenge thread.  Of course now i can't copy it.   Anyway -- I got one SE with a PCC and 6 CEs.  I'm still thinking about a couple of others (SE vs CE) but they will wait until the next sale.

...but you recommended the SE for House on the Hill, didn't you? LOL   and you've finished it arleady? that's fast !!!!  congrats!!

Yes, Barre, I recommended the SE for House on the Hill, and I still stand by that as the bonus was confusing at the start (I had no idea whom I was now playing and what the heck I was doing as you switch characters, and so had to read the journal to work it out) and, even though it was just over an hour, it felt a lot shorter.  You save a couple of people and then leave.  And half of it was still in the old house (but at least one room was seen from another angle) and you did some of the same HOSs you'd done in the main game multiple times.  And, unlike in the main game where I loved the HOSs, every single one - and there were a lot more in the bonus - was straight list with only the last one having interactions like in the main game.  I couldn't wait to finish them.    The bonus chapter was, as is often the case, a disappointment after such a fun game. 

I did, however, love the collectibles as the hearts were always in different forms and some were REALLY hard to spot.  I missed one but, when I realised which one I'd missed, I couldn't access it so I was one short.  Grrrrrrrr!   

The main game was only 4 hours so it was easy to play for just over 5 hours to finish the entire game, main game and bonus.  I simply didn't want to wait to play it as it intrigued me and it was exactly the sort of game that I love.  And I did love it!    But I still only recommend the SE.  Getting 2 CEs also helped with my punch cards.

However, I still stand by my SE recommendation for all the games I've demoed this past week, and only if you loved the demo.  One I have no interest in getting, one I want to get the SE, two I'll be deming the SE to see if I like them enough to use a precious PCC on them, as their extremely short bonus chapters quickly decided me on not even considering the CEs and I'm not even sure I want the SEs. 

So, Barre, did you end up getting any more games????

The holiday was originally called Decoration Day and was intented as a day that we remember those who died in the Civil War and decorate their graves.


It differs from Veterans Day (formerly known as Armistice Day and known in Great Britain as Remembrance Day) in that Veterans Day honors all those who have served in the US Armed Forces while Memorial Day honors those who have died while serving.

Thanks, Tirama!    We only have one day like that, Anzac Day in April, which celebrates not only the Anzacs from WWI but also anyone who fell or has served in any war; we don't have separate days for each.  We also all stop for one minute and remember all those who've fallen at 11 am on 11 November when the armistice was signed at the end of WWI, but it's not a public holiday in Australia.  Anzac Day is our big day for all who fell or have served in any war.

Sunshine, I so wished I'd gotten the CE and not the SE of Fatal Passion: Art Prison.    I read all the reviews, and even PMed someone who'd finished, to see which one to get.  I really regretted it as I was playing because I loved it so much.  I can't stop thinking about it and wonder if I should get the CE and get a PCC in exchange.  However, you have to pay full price for the CE if you do that; you can't get it cheap.  Hence I haven't upgraded.  But boy did I love it!
