Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Ditto Tirama.  Hope your back up to snuff ASAP.

Im looking forward to playing today's game.  Although I think the series has slid a bit from the first two Legacy and The Bride, which I thought were quite challenging, I'm game to try the new one.

Tirama -- It sounds as though the gum surgery went well.  Hope you feel better soon.

I bought that M3 (MAGIC HEROES?).  I'd like to find a fun jigsaw game.  Although I do prefer doing them in RL.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

While I was trying to decide what game to play a couple of you mentioned HOWLVILLE: THE DISTANT PAST.  I had it so I played it.  Just finished my 2nd game for this month!   Of course I needed the walkthrough, which brought up a weird problem.  When I went to BFG Walkthroughs and clicked H it wasn't ;isted.  If I clicked the link on the game page or the game forum or just typed HOWLVILLE into the search box it came up.  I've got a ticket into CS about that.  It wasn't the best game I've ever played but was no where near the worst.  Now to find another game.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Hi everybody.  Not feeling as drowsy, but mouth is still sore.

stuesue- sorry to hear that Royal Detective is so easy, but can't say I'm surprised, not after the update they put out for Midnight Castle.  They have caved in and decided to satisfy the "I want a skip button for the puzzles, Ho's, cut scenes, and anything else that's difficult or that I don't like" crowd who will then turn around and complain that the game is too short.

I'm so upset and disappointed.  They took a quest that required 281 HO's to complete (and over 30,000 coins) and changed it so that all you need to do is 6 HO's (and no coins) because people complained it was "too hard."   It wasn't hard, it was long.  But I had such a good feeling when I had finished one of these quests.

The update was forced on people.  Unlike the BoomZap FTP's which ask if you want to update, MC just kicks you out and if you want to continue playing, you HAVE to update.  I was in mid-quest and had spent about 20,000 coins.  I feel as if I had entered the Boston Marathon and right before the finish line I was told "This race is too long for some people, so it's been cancelled and now everybody will run around the bases at Fenway Park instead."

I hope the crybabies won't be allowed to dumb down the next MCF.

Have you tried Jigsaws Galore?  You can adjust the number of pieces and a bunch of other things to make the puzzles as easy or as difficulrt as you like.  And you can import your own photos, or the wall papers from the CE's to make your own puzzles.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I'll give JIGSAWS GALORE a look.

I'd be pretty frustrated if what happened to MC happened in AK.  I WISH we had a quest like that! (not timed, of course ).  I'd kick up a fuss with BFG CS and MC's FB page demanding the 20,000 coins back!

I got a reply to my "weird walkthrough" ticket.  The person who responded totally misread my email and said they were sorry I couldn't play the game and gave me a coupon good for a free CE.  I'll use that on Monday and then reply about them not understanding the problem.  And just when I was thinking that BFG CS was back on track.  My previous ticket (about a week or 10 days lag between Boomzap updates and BFG emails announcing the updates) was answered in 2 days and the person totally understood my frustration and explained why there could be delays.  Oh.  And gave me a regular CS coupon.

ART and AK are probably keeping an eye on the other free to play games and would never put in place a long quest after seeing what happened on MC.

It isn't worth my time to complain to BF or Elephant Games.  Mods have already offered platitudes about how sorry they are that everybody doesn't like the changes but maybe the next update will be more to our liking.  I doubt the difficulrty level will be upped.  They could have made less drastic changes, but chose to bring the game back to the tutorial levels.

The people I really feel sorry for are the ones who spent money on diamonds to hep get themselves through the quests.  That's what free to play is supposed to be about.  You can play free and slow, or if you are in a hurry you can buy things to help you advance quicker.  Can't see why anybody would shell out cash to play a game where the rules change while you're in the middle of a quest.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finally finished League of Light.  I guess I rescued the girl.  Don't know if I defeated the evil or not.  Don't really care, just glad it's over.  Won't have time to play this weekend but I should have some time next week.  Haven't decided what to play next, an oldie, a new sparkly, maybe an old sparkly.  SE, CE, or TM?  Maybe M3, who knows.  I had started the Awakenings before Sunhook Spire by accident thinking it was the FTP, after it came up I played a little.  Went to look for it last night and it's not in my "recently played" so it must have been on the desktop at home.  Final Cut Encore is sitting on the desktop half played, too.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

So far the only RL money I've spent on any F2P game is the $0.75 US (tax included) for the pegacorn!   I sooo wanted that pegacorn.  Speaking of pegacorns ... Boomzap has said that it's BFG that controls how long the sales (including the pegacorn) lasts/are offered.  It's too bad that BFG has that much control.  I'd be so upset if a drastic chqange like what happened with MC happened to a game i was playing

Hi Wendy! (waving).  Hope things are going well for you in RL.  I might pick the next AWAKENINGS  game since I'm so far behind.
