Lily, Jane Angel 2 is like Witch's Prank - SE at BFG, CE at GameHouse (but at SE prices).  It's supposed to have bonus levels, wallpapers and soundtrack.  I'm not sure what the SE at BFG has, if it also has those, but I'll let you know what the bonus levels are once I've finished.

At GameHouse some reviewers loved it, but some couldn't find the bonus levels and didn't like the ending.  Also, at GameHouse the game has 2 endings and you can play it twice to get both endings.  That may be the bonus in the PE.

However, at the beginning of the game when you go back in time 500 years you're stuck on a galleon with no map and lots of ways to go.  It's really easy to get totally lost without using the hint button to be pointed in the right direction.  The HOSs are also over several rooms - you know which ones are in which rooms as you go from room to room as the ones that are in that room change colour.  I loved wandering around getting lost but I don't know if you'd like that too much.  Apparently there's also a lot of dialogue but I didn't find that a problem and didn't even notice it - but then, I love adventure games.  It's definitely a game I'd suggest anyone demo before buying as lots of people love it (me) and lots of people hate it.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

stusue - pm'd you a pcc.

I'm thinking of getting a M3 game and considering one of these:

Magic Heroes: Save Our Park
Tales of the Orient: The Rising Sun
Call of Atlantis: Treasures of Poseidon

Has anybody bought, played, tried any of these games?

I got the code, thanks, Tirama

Without checking, I'm pretty sure the first 2 games are on my To Buy list.  The third one, no, as I didn't like it.

And, should it be released by BFG before you need to use the code, I'd also recommend the M3 I'm playing now - The Legend of Egypt - Jewel of the Gods.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished up Punished Talent Seven Muses CE.  Overall I enjoyed it.  Great storyline.  And I started Howlville The Dark Past.  It's an older game and I really wasn't expecting all that much, but wow is this a fun game.  There is so much to do.  Yes it is a fairly typically storyline, except there is aliens or mutant insects, I'm not sure which as I've only played about half an hour.  But I am really impressed with it.  The HO scenes are quite  interactive and they have at least on little puzzle to do to get an item.  Two thumbs up so far.

Oscar, I also liked Howlville

I´m having my now usual restless playing, wandering between different games ( I have so many games going on I don´t want to count them!) I have only finished one game this month!!!

I´m on the last room of Olympic Griddlers (which I don´t like at all) and hopefully finish this weekend.

ETA Olympus Griddlers, I can´t even remember the name

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I've just posted a demo review of - Forgotten Books: The Enchanted Crown CE by ERS.  My recommendation is as follows:

My Recommendation:    SE following the demo

I really enjoyed what I played of the demo.  I liked the story, the graphics and animation, and the gameplay with scenes being changed when you enter them.  Yes, it isn’t very difficult, but I liked the dark story that takes place in a book that’s constantly being rewritten.  I’ll need to read a lot more reviews before I decide.

So I recommend the SE but not – at this stage – the CE as I don’t think the extras are worth double the price, sale or no sale:

    *    there are no morphing objects
    *    there are only 11 achievements and they all seem to be story based and not performance based
    *    the collectibles are really only inventory objects that go into your achievement room
    *    replayable HOPs and minigames don’t interest me as I never have time to replay them
    *    painting the 9 scroll achievement pictures doesn’t interest me either

I also don’t think such a simple game is worthy of CE status.  Unless I read that the bonus is super long and really interesting with the 4 extra story worlds, I’ll stick to the SE, either with a PCC or during a BOGOF.

.
ETA:  Oops, I forgot to add that the full review can be found in my demo review thread.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

stusue -- Thanks for what you said about JANE ANGEL2.  I really don't like most adventure games -- wandering around not knowing what to do or where to go.  I tend to like more of the games that Wendy likes -- only a few scenes to visit, jump maps that have tasks noted.  It also sound as though the new ERS will be an SE buy.

Speaking of buys -- Am I the only one who thinks BFG could have done better for a Mother's Day sale?  Heck.  I think the Mother's Day sale for the IOS was better.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I'm disappointed in the sale.  I was sure since I'm temporarily without a credit card that BF would offer a half-price credit sale.

Last year's was CE's 9.99,  SE's 4.99, if I'm remembering correctly.  So marginally better for CE buyers, nothing there for SE buyers.

I finished some more boards in Riddles of The Mask, and continue to make progress in the free to plays.  Not sure if I'll get something on Monday or wait one more week.  After I finish Riddles, I plan to play European Mystery: The Face of Envy Collector's Edition.
