I'm still slowly playing League of Light.  It's almost everything I want in a game but it's too easy and doesn't have much storyline.  We have to rescue the damsel in distress but I just don't care about her.  There's no challenge at all to any of the minis, for example it has the game where you have to move all the white pieces to where the black ones are and vice versa.  Usually in that mini you can only move one direction and it always takes me a few tries to get it.  In this game you can move either direction so there's no way you can mess up.  They're all like that, geared towards the lowest common denominator.  I'm past the point where I want a really hard game, but come on, make me work a little bit.  It makes ERS games look hard.  Actually I haven't played an ERS in awhile, maybe I'll play one of theirs next.  I'm just feeling no love for this one.

Wendy, I loved League of Light  Yes, it's not overly difficult but I loved the gameplay and found the mimigames fun.  I also thought there were heaps of unique ideas in the game and I really loved that.  I thought and thought for weeks as to whether to get the CE or would the SE be enough but, as I couldn't forget about the game, and as I loved that even though you were collecting owls they were all different and you never knew in what form they were going to appear in each scene, I decided on the CE and never regretted for a single moment that I got it.  Certainly shows how we all have differents tastes, doesn't it?

I'm glad you had a good first night!    I hope the season just gets better and better and I certainly hope that you have perfect weather - sunny but not too hot.  I'm glad you can now get some of the things you need.

Thanks for the update stusue.  Hmmmm... I have LEAGUE OF LIGHT too.

Wendy -- I'm glad that your season is off to a good start.  As stusue said I hope it gets better and better and you can afford to get the truck fixed.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

As I've been playing it I've been thinking it's perfect for someone who's not normally into the puzzles, because these are  simple.  I love the HOs in the game, traveling isn't too far, and it has a great jump map.  But I bought the game because it had lots of puzzles and that's important to me, and I'm really disappointed in the quality of them.  But at least as many people will appreciate that they're easier puzzles.  The storyline is starting to pick up so that's good.

I just got a Playrix newletter and the offer I've been waiting for is here... Royal Envoy 3 CE for $2.99 this weekend.  It's not the same as Campaign for the Crown.  That means BFG should be getting it shortly.  I'm trying to put in a link to it, if anyone is interested.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Wendy, I love puzzles and prefer games with lots of them.  I don't like stupid easy ones and I can't remember being disappointed in the minigames.  That being said, I don't mind easy minigames if they're fun to play, and that may be the case here, but I simply can't remember.  If I have fun playing any minigame then it doesn't matter to me whether it's easy or challenging.  All I remember is that I loved this game.  It wasn't one of my favs but I really had fun playing it.

Lily, I think you'd love League of Light

Well, I just went all the way back to find what I posted just after I'd finished the game.  I've highlighted in red the bit about the puzzles.  So yes, they were easy, but unique and fun.    I'm really going to have to go all the way back through my posts and post any game reviews in my review thread so I can find them all again whenever I want to.

I've just finished League of Light: Dark Omens CE.  Wow, yet another great game!

I'm really glad I got the CE as the bonus was nearly 2 hours !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    And it would have been 2 hours had I not looked at the SG a few times when I wasn't sure where to go next or had forgotten where I had to put something.    It wasn't necessary to conclude the story but continued on after the end of the main game and you got a whole heap of new background information and a whole other story - well, what happened to the Snoggle (sp?) after you'd defeated the Dark Lord at the end of the main game, as all his dark magic spread to the castle.    It was just as good as the main game with 100% new areas to explore and I think it had a lot more fun - and unique - minigames than in the main game.

I also loved the HOPs - some chain silhouette ones (which all had little mini puzzles in them ) and some interactive list ones.  And in the list ones you didn't know which items in the list were needed to find the highlighted items.  None of the minigames were difficult, although, of course, some took a bit more time and thought than others.  However, there were a lot of new ones I'd never seen before and even those I'd seen before all had new little twists on them.  But, as I said, none were overly difficult, with some being very quick and easy, but all were fun!

However, at the end of the main game, it comes up with "To be continued", or something like that, and I don't think they meant the bonus chapter.    I think it's great if there's going to be a sequel  but I would have waited to play this one just before the new one, had I known.

Oh, I'm also glad I got the CE because I really liked finding the owl collectibles.  Every one was different - some were different real owls, hidden in different places; some were statues; some were parts of furniture; etc; and a couple were hiding and I looked and looked, and couldn't find them, until they popped out from their hiding places!    The second time that happened I'd forgotten all about the first time and I didn't notice the little owl popping his little head out from behind the oven, right on the floor, until I was just about to leave the kitchen for the third time!    I was so lucky I spotted the movement out of the corner of my eye!

I sure hope the sequel will be released soon!  And I sure hope they're actually going to make the sequel, unlike some other games when all sequels were cancelled.

.
And, Wendy, thanks for the info re Royal Envoy 3 CE!  I got the newsletter last night but I thought that RE3 was Campaign for the Crown, which I already have, so thanks for letting us know that it's different.  I'll definitely get it this weekend for $2.99!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Today's  FREE  game at  Game Giveaway of the Day  is:

Egyptoid

Traveling through 72 never-the-same levels, your objective will be to destroy various patterns of blocks by bouncing the ball. In doing this, you must keep an eye out for bonuses that can speed up or down the paddle, give an extra life, extend the paddle or make it magnetic.

Featuring 8 spectacular worlds, 17 types of bonuses, Egyptoid is bursting with arcade fun!

.
This is an old wall-breaking game, where you have a paddle at the bottom and you hit a ball up to break the blocks above, trying to keep the ball going for as long as possible whilst trying to remove all the blocks while you try to catch all the falling goodies (whether gameplay improvements or treasure).  This one is interesting as it's 3D, that is, the blocks are in 3D and not the usual 2D.

I recommend this game for anyone who likes wall-breaking games or would like to try one.  And it's  FREE!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I have finished Dark Dimensions: Somber Song SE. I regret buying it (although it was with a PCC). I found it boring and pressed the hint button  all the time

I have finished World Mosaics Chroma for this time a couple of days ago and waiting for the next update

I have to dex Mystery Island: Prisoners of Ice  I liked it very much but there was a glitch that prevented you to continue and you had to start over with a new name. Maybe sometimes in the future...

Stuesue, do you know why Black Rainbow has disappeared from GH? I also liked it very much and was planning to buy it this week with the discount.

Anki, oh no!  I loved the demo of Dark Dimensions: Somber Song.  I just hope I like the rest of the game more than you seem to have done.

I also have Mystery Island: Prisoners of Ice.  I hope I don't have the same glitch that you had when I get around to playing it!    Have you looked in the forums?  Why don't you tell CS as they'll most probably send you a coupon for a replacement.

As for Black Rainbow, you must have missed my post.  It was pulled after only a few hours as they'd released it too early by mistake.  It was only released on Cateia Game's own website a few days ago!  They told me that BFG will be getting it in about a month but I'm not sure if GameHouse will release it earlier - it's listed as being released in the next week or so, so hopefully.  I was lucky enough to have downloaded it in those few hours and so could play the whole game - and loved it!  So you'll be able to play it very soon.    That it will be released by Monday for the sale I can't say (the sale codes normally work for 24 hours following a sale, just like at BFG) but I'd like to buy it on sale, too!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Stuesue, yes I looked in the forums and there where many who had that glitch, they tried with a new name and then it worked (reinstalling hadn´t helped).

As you know I´m no longer a member so I guess CS don´t care...

I still have Black Rainbow and can play it so maybe I try  just in case..

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Anki - Where were you when it happened?  A long ways in?

Wendy -  Good to here that opening day went well.  Stay positive my friend, I think we are all sending you good vibes for an awesome season.  I'd love for you to post a picture of your game booths so we can see what you do.

I finished the main game of Cadenza and I am putting it up in my top 10.  I really loved the game play in it.  I dl all the music as well.  It was such an enjoyable experience playing.  I replayed all the HOs to get 100% and find the morphs I missed.  The only one I haven't stumbled upon is in a mosaic type screen. It's harder to read than the other graphics.  I'm going to play the bonus section today.  There is a limited amount of games on my list of ones I'd play over and this has joined the ranks.

I do beleive I am going to play League of Light next.  The chatter above makes me want to try it out.

For the GGofD, its a rare day that I play a brickshooter but I do have a Playrix one that I got for free, Brickshooter Egypt and they can be so addicting once you start.  So if anyone wanted to try them I'd say go for it.  Thanks for the link Stusue.

Speaking of Brickshooter, I keep forgetting I have this whole other file of non BFG games to play!

I got that email about Royal Envoy 3. And a CE at that.  I have never played any of the other Royal Envoys but I think I am going to pick this up.  It's $3.60 Cnd so it will be worth it for me for my first dip in to this sort of game.  I keep wanting to try one. (looking at the Playrix site reminds me I have Gardenscapes 2 to replay.  I lost my progress when my computer was changed over)

Have a lovely weekend.  It's grey, rainy and a perfect day for game playing in my pjs.
