Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Tirama -- I did achieve a lot in both F2Ps.  So much that I'm essentially out of things to do.  But Boomzap says there will be an update to ART in May.  I'm glad you and Tiffany came through with flying colors.

oscar -- Sometimes games get pulled if there are problems or the DEVs want to change something.  Rats.  It sounded like a game I'd really like too.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Oscar and Lily, I just checked out the forum for Witch's Prank: Frog's Fortune and the thread about it disappearing.  The game's disappeared from the game page but the forum's still there if you do a search for it in the forums.  This is the latest official comment from one of the mods ...

We haven't been informed why the game page was changed, preventing users from downloading the game or trial, and we will be happy to provide you with more information and soon as we have it. This may take a few hours and we appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Apparently the game page was still there at one point but there were no buttons to either buy or demo.  People who'd demoed it and wanted to buy couldn't as they just got the message that the game didn't exist.  I see that it's now totally been removed but no one seems to know why.

However, a couple of people who'd bought the game and played the full version only managed to rescue 2 of the 4 frogs and then the game ended.  Someone else said that when they put it in windowed mode up above it said that it was the demo, even though they'd bought and downloaded the full version.  So it looks like when you buy and download the full version you're only getting the demo version and this may be why it's been pulled, until they sort it out.

Sorry you guys haven't been able to play the demo as it's a lot of fun.  Hopefully it'll be back up again soon.

Well, it's after midnight and I can hardly keep my eyes open so I'm off to bed before my head hits the keyboard and I wake up with the alphabet permanently imprinted in my cheek.  I hope you all have a great evening!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Sorry, I missed the second page of the thread ... this is the latest reason ...

G'day again,

I am back with more information about Witch's Pranks.

As it turns out we were a little too excited to share this one with you guys, and released it too early.

The good news is, it will be back, and soon.

Additionally, I've sent the details of what could be trouble with the frogs on to the team for further investigation before the game's official release.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I've just posted a demo review of today's soft release.  The full review can be found in my demo review thread, StuSue's Demo Reviews.

My recommendation for Magic Heroes: Save Our Park is as follows:

My recommendation:

I loved this game and can't wait to get the full version!    I only played half an hour (including the time I took to take notes as I played) before having to stop to chat with my sister and mum on Skype.  As soon as we'd all said goodnight I couldn't wait to get back to it, which shows how much I loved it.  Then, before I knew it, the time had run out!

I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves fun M3s with a bit of a challenge (although you can play untimed), great graphics and a fun story.  It's also long with 148 levels, which can each be played in 3 different modes.  It's on my To Buy list and I can't wait to continue to play it.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

GameHouse has a 50% discount sale until the end of the weekend (although, just like BFG, the code normally works for a further 24 hours).  The 50% discount is off either the member or non-member price, for full-price games or those already discounted on sale.

Code:  FAVORITE

Thanks stusue.  I'll take a look at MAGIC HEROES.  I like M3s much more than I did and untimed is always good!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Thanks for all the good thoughts and wishes for Tiffany and myself.  Tiffany is a bit subdued on account of the antibiotics she's taken but resting comfortably.  She gets this weekend off, and then the following weekend it's back to the vet for a session with their groomer.  She's looking abit shaggy because she couldn't have her hair cut while undergoing the medicated dips.

I played 2 chapters of Sea of Lies: Mutiny of the Heart Collector's Edition.  I'm hoping this is the month I finally finish some of the games I bought.  I'm buying less games but I'm also finishing less game because of the free to play one.

Need to pick out a game to get on MOnday with my pcc.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I'm still slowly playing League of Light.  It's almost everything I want in a game but it's too easy and doesn't have much storyline.  We have to rescue the damsel in distress but I just don't care about her.  There's no challenge at all to any of the minis, for example it has the game where you have to move all the white pieces to where the black ones are and vice versa.  Usually in that mini you can only move one direction and it always takes me a few tries to get it.  In this game you can move either direction so there's no way you can mess up.  They're all like that, geared towards the lowest common denominator.  I'm past the point where I want a really hard game, but come on, make me work a little bit.  It makes ERS games look hard.  Actually I haven't played an ERS in awhile, maybe I'll play one of theirs next.  I'm just feeling no love for this one.
In real life news, we opened last night and I did alright  Much better than opening night last year.  It's an 11 day spot, my rent will be $1000, and I brought in $200 last night.  By Saturday night I should break even so all the rest of the spot I will get to keep the rest of the money minus the cost of prizes   This is the only spot where we stay someplace other than where the carnival is at, and I'm catching a ride with someone.  Saturday I plan on driving my van to the lot in case I need extra prizes out of it, and then afterwards I can drive it to the bank and make a deposit into the ATM, and then to Walmart where I plan on buying a microwave and one of those toasters that have a tiny toaster oven in them.  And slippers and a laptop cooler and various other things I haven't bought since I didn't have money.  Next spot is a new one, so we don't know if it will be any good or not, but the spot it's replacing was really bad so it can't be any worse.  The next few spots aren't very good but I should make at least a few hundred dollars at each one unless the weather is terrible.   I feel such relief knowing I will soon have enough money to cover May's bills, and hopefully June's, too.  And I'm not minding living in my van, but of course it's not blazing hot out, I'll be singing a different tune when we're parked on asphalt and it's 85

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

If anyone's read my demo review of  today's soft release, Magic Heroes: Save Our Park, I've just updated it with 2 further points under Gameplay, one about the way the Gold Star system works and one about the Timer.  This is what I added:

    *    The stars don't count down from 3 to 1 with time but rather go up from 1 to 3 with points earned
    *    The timer is simple - finish before it ends - and you get more points the more time you have left

I thought it funny when I heard a sound while I played and the stars changed, seeming to go up rather than down, and I couldn't work out why.  I read in the forums at BFG that the stars go up the more points you get and so you shouldn't clear the last blue square until you've got enough points to get the third gold star.  However, the quicker you finish the more points you get as you get extra points for the time you have left at the end of each level.

The timer has no division like most timers, where you go from 3 to 2 to 1 star; it just seems to be one simple timer and you just have to finish the level before it ends.  I don't think I ever even got to the halfway point so it seems pretty generous.  I have no idea what happens if the timer runs out but there's always the untimed mode.
