I didn't mind Crucible Peak. Then again I wasn't as thrilled with the first one as most other people were. The original makers didn't do CP, ERS did it, that's why it feels different. But that was how I felt about Motor Town, couldn't stand it, and then I hit a glitch towards the end so I didn't have to finish it and I got a CS coupon I remember I got a CS coupon for the 2nd Pahaleka. I couldn't stand that one either so I wrote them and told them that and they gave me a CS coupon. That's the only time I've ever done that, so you can guess how much I hated it

Wendy - make sure you click on the Pet Store to look for the Pegacorn. From there, I think you have to click on choose another helper?

The vet called to tell us Tiffany is fine after her tooth extraction. She had a small growth on her eyelid which we also asked them to remove, since it was getting larger and making her eye tear. Tha was done by laser. We'll pick her up after my dentist appointment, which is about 30 minutes from now.

Tha'ts good news. Give her a biscuit from me when she's all better.

Glad Tiffany's doctor visit went so well. Hope yours does too Tirama.

I'm fine. The meds made both of us rather sleepy so we took a nice nap. I have to go back in two weeks for the gum surgery.
Not going to start any new game tonight. I'll just putter around with the free to pay games.

Nothing like a nap curled up with your furry pal. I always laugh that I go to bed with one fella and wake up with another!
I am loving this game Cadenza. It really is wonderful and has made me appreciate jazz. Something I have never had a taste for but the soundtrack is very enjoyable. The puzzles and HO scenes are so interactive and innovative. The music notes are quite well hidden in some scenes. My one little weensy complaint is that the journal and hint button are too close together. I like reading and looking at the journal and you've got to be very careful not to hit hint.
Wendy, I didnt fall all over the first Phantasmat either that's why I was so surprised I had the second. One of the reasons I have not purchased the second Botanica is I really need to demo it first because I was not a huge fan of the first one, although it got raves.

Tirama, I'm so glad things went well for both of you yesterday. I hope your gum surgery goes just as well and that you both heal super fast and well.
Oscar and Wendy, I loved both Phantasmat 1 (especially the replayable M3 as it's maybe the best M3 I've ever played - although I haven't played it in a long time - maybe I should check it out again - and I simply adore the music!) and Botanica 1 and both are in my top fav games! So it'll be interesting to see what I think of both sequels when I finally get around to playing them.

And nope, 25 minutes to midnight BFG time and still no missing punches. Oh well, at least I got 1 CE coupon and 2 SE coupons out of it, so 1 CE coupon and 1 SE coupon more than I would have - although greedy little me would still like to get those missing punches so that I'd get a PCC as well! They said we were going to get them - one mod in the forums and it was confirmed to me by CS. Maybe we'll get them added to our May punch cards. But I won't be holding my breath.

Well, after almost finishing 2 reviews yesterday - one completed game, one demo - I've finally managed to post one today!
Yesterday, I'd spent about 90 mins doing a review of Black Rainbow, when Firefox crashed (you know I've been having lots of problems with my computer lately). I'd learnt my lesson with another review and so had kept on copying whatever I'd done as I went along so that I could paste it back should I lose everything. Well, I soon discovered that, when Firefox crashes, not only do you lose your work, but also whatever you've copied just in case! I couldn't face redoing all that work straight away so started on one for a demo - but exactly the same thing happened.
Then last night I had the brilliant idea to try and type a review up in Word and then copy it here. And, after a bit of trial and error, it worked!
So, after having spent all morning doing a review of a game no one will probably ever play, I've just posted a review of Plagiarii, a game that I'd been waiting since last November for it to get to GameHouse as it really interested me but it didn't excite me enough to want to purchase it at BFG.
My recommendation and rating for Plagiarii are as follows:
My Recommendation:
Length: It’s definitely not a long game. It took me somewhere between 2½ and 3 hours but I’m a slow player and I kept trying to find those last tiny hidden objects, so I spent longer than usual on the HOSs. I read that someone did it in an hour and only used 2 hints – which I find very hard to believe. Someone else said that they took 2 hours, and that I believe if you’re a player who rushes through games without taking the time to stop and appreciate the graphics, story and gameplay.
Difficulty: This is a very easy game as there’s no wandering around and everything is very straightforward. However, the instructions for the puzzles were a bit vague and I had to do a bit of trial an error to work some of them out – you’re told what to do but not how to do it – but I just found that that gave it a bit more of a challenge and also made it more life-like as, if you were really in that situation, you wouldn’t be given any help.
My Recommendation: I certainly recommend this game for anyone who has a FunPass, even if it’s just to play some unique HOSs and puzzles. I’d also recommend this game for anyone who wants an easy game or who likes straight HOGs with some puzzles. It’s also short and relatively easy so would be great as a fill-in game.
However, I wouldn’t recommend that anyone purchase this game, unless you wanted to support the developers who have made a good effort for their first game. It’s too easy, there’s no widescreen, the graphics are old-fashioned with no voiceovers or animation, and there’s no adventure.
There were only 5 names plus a composer in the credits, and this is the only game I could find for them. So, if this is the first effort of a very small new team then it’s a great first attempt and I can’t wait to see what they do with their next game, the prequel.
My rating:
I liked playing this game but nothing special (although I liked the originality)
