Re: Awakening Kingdoms

Tirama -- Get the Fungus Hut game (1st one) up to master and soon you'll be awash in bolgins.  That's how I'm getting my building done and the food.  I think Wendy told us about this.  The other good thing about the Fungus Hut mini is that, at master, I get a bit over 500 XP each time I play it.  You can level up quickly that way.

I tried to find the resources needed for the Pegacorn, but there isn't a list.  All I remember is 10 Whisper lilies, 8 Uniciorn feathers, 5 Moon Fountain tea, some multiples of shoes that you probably already have, ditto herbs (I think the ones in Dawnhope Cavern).

I don't have the mini game resources to get any mini game up to master.  I've got quests to play mini games in town hall that need 34 glues.  Just played the HO scene that gives glue.  I got 1.

I need 10 Songbird eggs to finish a Pegacorn quest.  I already had 3.  Played the HO scene 3 times before I received 1 egg.  Need 4 portraits from Gobholm.  Played that 3 times.  Still need 4 portraits.

Upgraded Town Hall.  Aftr getting my reward, the Mayor was back looking for another 2400 coins.

If collectibles don't start dropping for me, it will take weeks to play the quests I've got open.

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

Tirama -- all it takes is 2 tiles to play a game.  That's 600 bolgins.  For the Pegacorn quest you'll need face flowers and 2 kinds of dust     (not the coruscating or radiant).  The Songbird eggs were hard.  I only have one right now.  I have a gazillion portraits.  How are you fixed for Kip puppets?  I think he gives glue.  You could also look on the bright side -- at least you've got quests!

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

I never did receive the option to buy the Pegacorn quest.   I did finish the festival with 2 days to spare.  I tried to stock up on stuff beforehand and even with trying to get the Treasure Vault opened in the middle of the festival it all went pretty smooth.

You lose some money for the first 2 levels, I think it is, and then you break even for a level, then you make money after that.  If you've got a few thousand dollars that's about all you need to get yourself up there.  And like Lily said, once you're up there you get 500 exp. every time.  Then you level up and play more HOs and you'll have money for more cards.  I'm totally sick of the game but it pays out awesome.  Whenever you get anywhere close to leveling up it gets you there quickly.  It seems like cheating, it makes everything else so much easier.

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

Wendy -- I really don't think it's cheating.  Unless I'm totally mistaken I could swear that when the game was first rolled out you would/could run out of cards and lose the game and your 2 tiles.  Now it seems as thoiugh there is an infinite number of cards in your deck (post most recent update). I usually play for 10 or so minutes at a time.  Especially now with the food sale.

sunshinej -- Congrats!  Even with the very generous "timer" I was a bit apprehensive when I saw the timed quest.  It was fun and the castle is looking pretty darn good.   For some weird reason the Pegacorn was only offered for one day!   I would have thought it would be a no brainer to get people (like me and Tirama) who had resisted using real money to part with some.  The Boomzap rep in PondFriends is saying that they are trying to get it offered again.

Yeah, and how many bolgins is it going to cost me for the first two levels?

I don't think anybody is hearing me:  my game does not give what is needed.  I've just played Gobholm 3 times trying to get those stupid portraits for Raphael, which is my oldest quest besides the ones to complete relics.  I didn't get a single portrait.  That's 111 energy (almost 10 hours worth) spent and nothing to show for it.

Maybe those portraits are only available in a certain mode, or at a certain level of experience.  If it's a case of needing to level up the city, then the quest shouldn't have been sent so early to people who were just starting the game in February.

Do I have a Puppet Kip so that I could redeem a collection to get 10 of the 34 glues I need?  No.

Did I have a Faita whatever so I could get blueprints?  No.  I played the HO 3 times without getting one before I said screw it and went to Apricus Plaza and got all the blueprints for Troglid the hard way, one HO scene at a time.

I haven't even counted how many glass shards I need for Chumblepots.  What's the point?  I can't get them redeeming collectibles because the collectible set that gives shards is the portrait collection and I can't get Gobholm to give me the missing portrait.

Really, I'm not exaggerating when I say it will take weeks to complete the quests I have because the drop rate for the items I need is pitiful.

Yeah, I possibly could make enough money playing the card game to BUY the shards and glue, but is that what this game is supposed to be?  And it still wouldn't help with the portraits or songbird eggs.

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

We are hearing you Tirama and we're trying to help.  I understand your frustration -- been there, done that, sold the T shirt.  I felt like crying at one point when I needed 10 of something, finally got them and the next quest wanted 5 more!  Remember the other good part about the Fungus Hut game?  The XP.  The last level before the one I'm at took 76k XP.  I got that in one day playing the Fungus Hut.  Yes it was a grind but I got bolgins and, obviously, lots of XP.  I think you said that part of your problem was that some things you needed wouldn't unlock until level 28 & you are level 24.  Have you looked in the auction for the portraits?  They might be dirt cheap.  If you tell me what you need I can probably help.  A couple of days ago you said you weren't sleeping well or much because of Tiffany.  Are you sleeping better now?

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

I've been playing Gobholme gobs of times trying to get that stupid book.  It always says it's in there but I haven't gotten a single one of them and I need 3.  I can get the stupid portrait that Tirama needs, though.
I only had the food sale available to me once, and I spent most of my money on sandwiches  except for what I spent on a building upgrade and I left a little to buy more cards.  Then tonight when I went back in I had the food sale again.  I only had 1,000 bucks or so, not counting what I have stashed in my collections(and I traded some in the only other day what  I had the food sale) so I broke down and bought the fungus soup or whatever it is that cost 75 of my 117 crystals and gives me +100 and a fill.  I only have 460 energy so I figured that would come in handy, and increase of almost 25%.  I just looked at my map and almost every scene is blinking.  I'm trying to take it slow and not rush it cause it's so easy to run out of quests.  Looks like I'll have the Gobholme quest around for awhile, anyway.

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

Speaking of running out of quests -- I have.  When I finished the Pegacorn quests I had a semi-generic quest to "level up to ....,find relic pieces and improve the kingdom".  According to Boomzap there are no more relic pieces in the game right now, I've hit level 50 and even the generic quest has gone away.  All of my HO scenes have maximum trophies so I'm basically out of Achievements too.  I do need to restock my collections and get a total of 5 buildings from level 4 to level 5.  I checked the AK gaming thread at BFG.  Apparently you can continue to level up until you hit 100.  Then the game doesn't recognize your XP.  As for the sale...  there is a thread there about that too.  If you lose the sale (or part of it) close the game and reopen it.  The sale should be back.  Obviously this is for future sales (unless they fix something with an update).  My energy is at 650.  I only had 87 crystals so I couldn't see buying the fungus soup.

If we could work something out I'd be happy to help both you and Tirama Wendy.  I think I've got one of the books you need (Brave Goblins?) and I know I've got stuff Tirama needs.  The only problem is that the auction has been going crazy with some of the items needed for the quests.  I've seen a bid or two of close to 100,000!  It would be soooo nice if we could gift!
