Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

And once again you've got the answer Tirama!  Thank you.  Did you write the game?   I just need it for a set.  I guess I'll go see how much they want for one.  Although I might need to get to a certain level in the Secret Library to open a mini.

It's one of the mini scenes that is glitchy.  The window of the library.  I've reported it in the dev's forum.  Unless you've finished all your achievements for Bronze, Silver, and Gold sets, I wouldn't worry about Platinum ones too much.  Except for the women's clothing (which you can't complete unless you part with gold bars or pay through the nose on auction), those sets gve out building supplies or coins.

Since yo're enjoying the auctions more, think about playing 4 palettes and selling the Leisure Photo.  I've been getting from 5,000 to 10,000 coins for it (depending on what other people are charging).  You just have to see one to get more than enough coins to purchase any of the other photos in the set, which gives 10 palettes.

So, complete 2 sets and receive 20 palettes, and use them to get 5 Leisure Photos.  Keep 2 photos for yourself, sell the other 3 for 15,000 to 30,0000,  buy whatever else you need to complete 2 more sets, and repeat until you're wealthy.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

There's some easy to get stuff that I can't manage to keep because it sells so fast and so easy I end up selling all mine.  The Posh Scarf and Deerstalker are ridiculous because they only take 1 film.  A lot of the 3 and 4 are good, too.  The mini-saucer, the Taj Majol, the Great Wall, Happy Girl, Mad Boy all sell for 8-10,000.  I make enough at auction that I can buy pizza whenever I feel like it, no worries.  I've been working in the Botany building today.  I hate it, but I thought I should stock up just in case BZ takes away our prize everytime.  Because I hate it so much I'd really hate to play it and not get anything.  And I have over 800 gloves.  I'm doing #16 for the Am. Def. Medal

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Silly me!  All the minis in Secret Library are open.  I've read some other posts by people who say that scene is glitchy.  Do both of the games seem laggy to anyone else or is it just me?

800 gloves!??  I'm happy when I have 80 - 100 of a resource.  I actually DO like the botany scenes.

Somehow i just can't seem to ask that amount of money for things i can get so easily.  No wonder my stuff sells so fast!   I may start upping my asking price since I'm using up a LOT of resources getting this stuff.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I have 1400 film.  That's why I didn't update the one game for so long, I was getting 20 of each of the resources, hammers, film, glue, paint, wood, all of that stuff.  Just 1 of the collectibles but tons of all that other stuff.  And I used a bunch of it already,
I don't understand why people pay that much for such easy to get items but they do.  I buy some easy to get stuff but only when it's a good bargain.  That's when I turn around and resell it.  I do a lot of reselling.  Wish I could make money this easy in real life

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Oh dear.  The Auction bubble may have burst.  I listed 2 Rococo Flames yesterday at a starting price of 20,000.  So far no bids.  Everything else sold.  In AK I've been selling Goblin Runes .  All three of them sell at decent prices.  Of course tomorrow I'll get a quest that wants 10 of each.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I haven't been doing much in the game.  I don't need to sell anything, I have 8.6 million coins.  I have no quests left, just the daily one each day.  I need to build up some of my mini game resources, but I need resources to get the objects to complete sets to get resources.  And the collectibles needed are priced too high at auction.

I'm just checking in each day to do my quest, collect my reward for showing up, look and see if there's anything good on auction, maybe list a couple items, play a few HO scenes.  I still have 3 cities to get to master.  Dragging my heels with working on the boatyard because it hands out so much junk.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Same here, Tirama.  I have so much stuff and no quests.  Even if I had some quests I would be able to fulfill them immediately.  The purpose has gone out of the game.  I won't really be able to get updates while I'm working this summer, I only get 5 gigs/month and I think the last update was almost 1 gig.  God knows how much the auction would use.  I won't really be able to buy or sell anything.  I really doubt I'll play over the summer unless I start completely over.  Maybe it's time to go check out Archie and the gang, is Riverdale Rescue any good?
The price of the clocks has gone way down so now I've been buying when the price is attractively low.  Bought one for 500 yesterday.  Anything that gives you 30 resources is pretty nice to have, in my eyes.  They've taen the Staffordshire Teapot out of the game so now it's selling for 20,000 and more.  I have 40 of them in one of my games, I don't know whether to sell or hang onto them.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

The auction prices have been bizarre since the update.  You're guaranteed to get a collectible from the mini games, yet people are asking astronomical amounts for them.  Then there's other things that have temporarily lost their value because somebody has flooded the market with them and priced them cheaply.  20 coins for Mary Janes?  I'll hold on to mine.

I don't need money, so I'm not forced t sell if I think the going rate is too low.  Just waiting for the next update, which should be soon.

If you've built up your resources, food, and money before you go away, you shouldn't need to do the auction.  Just check in quickly each day to get the daily quest and rewards for showing up.  Even if there's an update and new quests, you shouldn't need the auction.  I only needed the auction because I was going for those Platinum sets and had used up so much of my mini game resources.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

The stars, rewards, and daily quest might even be programmed into the program.  I already did them today but tomorrow I will try to remember to leave the laptop unconnected to the internet and see what happens when I log in, if I get a star and a daily quest.  The week before the 4th of July I'm in an area where I pick up a Brighthouse hotspot so I get high speed, free unlimited internet for a week while I'm playing a park, so I can do updates and downloading that week and maybe get lucky and get in on a 4th of July quest.

PS.  I keep forgetting to say that I love your new quote, Tirama.  Words to live by
