Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I came to say that I tried to use the coupon code STRONG on BPM and it said it was invalid but I see its already been mentioned lol Guess they finally caught onto all our tricks. boo. but the POP UP Bonus Deal...sometimes I see that but most times I don't. In fact, recently one popped up for a nancy drew game and I couldn't remember if I had it (found it gives you games you already have sometimes) but I decided to pass on it because Id rather just get it with a pcc especially now that its $4.99 and not $3.99 which is a big difference to a broke person like me

I did end up getting a game over the weekend though to finish my punch card. I used the expiring March 9th coupon on Grim Legends-Forsaken Bride CE and bought Mystery of Unicorn Castle-Beastmaster CE on sale. When I first demoed Beastmaster, I thought it was wayyyy weird but I kept it in my game manager and came back to it the next day and realized what a true gem it is. Its so original in terms of gameplay and the paths you get to choose. I was planning to get Danse Adiago or Riddles of Fate but I went for the unicorns instead. Then of course I had to demo the first one which didn't work right on my computer because the cursor was all wonky. I think I demoed it ages ago but obviously it was never updated to different operating systems.

I just finished the main game of Nightmares from the deep-Sirens Call CE and I so didn't give this game the attention it properly deserved so I know at some point I will need to play it again. Starting a game like this and then leaving it for 2 weeks and then coming back to it was a huge mistake although I had a lot going on so its understandable but still this is a dessert game so boo to me! I preffered the first one in this series though in terms of originality and gameplay. I kind of wish I had gotten this one as the SE and the other as the CE lol Live and Learn

Tessa is healing up nicely, my fiance finally has an interview for his K1 Fiance Visa!! woohoo!! Should be out here permanently by mid April and my mom's shoulder is also healing nicely. So things here are looking up for the first time in awhile.

Oh one more thing. For Mac users, for the past couple weeks, we keep getting CEs on Tuesdays as well! They are all the ones that you guys have had forever like Royal Envoy 3 Campaign for the Crown & Forest Call of Love CE BUT I just find it kind of odd. That means we get CEs 3 times a week which I guess is good...just random.

Hope everyone is good!!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Woohoo!  And yet another game finished!    I've just finished The Mystery of Unicorn Castle.  I started it when I thought I'd be getting Mystery of Unicorn Castle: Beastmaster CE on Monday (but, yeah, we know all about the sale codes no longer being valid on Monday ).  Wow, was it hard going!    A straight HOG with the occasional spot the difference or really simple jigsaw.  With super small objects, really bad, pixelated graphics (it shows its age) and some of the scenes were done in the dark!    Not fun!  But at least now I know the initial story before playing the second one.

So, Meg, please let me know what you think of the CE of Mystery of Unicorn Castle: Beastmaster when you play it as I'd like to know whether it's worth the extra cost and I should therefore wait for a BOGOF, or whether I should just get the SE when it's released.

Meg, I'm so glad both Tessa and your mum are healing nicely.    I'm also really glad your fiance should be there permanently by mid April!    I bet you can't wait.    I hope things continue to go well for you.

Woohoo, I just redeemed my monthly GCC from GH.  I demoed today's new game and then couldn't hit the Buy button quick enough!  It's a turn-based battle M3 that requires real strategy.  Do you make one of the attack matches or one of the defence matches?    Do you make one of the matches to build up one of the powerups?    Or do you match diamonds so that you can buy more powerful attack and defence matches?    What's happening to your opponent?  Is he in defence mode so it's better not to make attack matches as they won't damage him, or have you frozen him so you should attack while he can't defend himself?

It's called Quest of the Sorceress and I hope it gets to BFG quickly for any of you who like that sort of fun and different M3 game.

I loved the two Puzzle Quest games and this one sounds similar, I'll have to check it out.  I like the battle M3s

Thanks, Wendy  I have those 2 games but couldn't for the life of me remember what they were called.  It plays exactly like those 2.  I wonder if it's by the same developers...    They do all have "Quest" in their names.

If you install MIdnight Castle on your PC by 11:59 PM March 11 (That's BF Time), Next week they will send you a coupon for 60% off  your next PC game.  Here's the link with the info.

And yes, the offer is good for those already playing, you just have to delete and reinstall.   I have no idea if the coupon is good for CE's or only SE's and whether the 60% off refers to retail prices or Member prices.

Make sure you are signed into your account when you download.

Dang it, I had this come up on my laptop yesterday twice and I deleted it.  My hard drive was going bad on my 5-yo laptop and I took it in to be replaced and was trying to get everything set back up and when I installed the BFG GM, I didn't really think I wanted it on the laptop.  Oh well, I'm waiting to hear back from CS because I wasn't able to use my PCC on Monday because I kept getting a message that it was unable to be processed, try back later.  Saw where some else got the same message so don't know what was going on so maybe they will give me a free coupon, just cause!

Love computers but when it comes to setting stuff up, I'm not sure about how to do it.  I know I had Excel on the old LT but can't find a disc for it and decided to try Open Office, anybody use it? When I first got it back, I had a link to my desktop so I could see some of my files but after adding some stuff, I somehow lost the link and now I can't figure out how to get it back.  So frustrating when you spend the time trying to do something and you can't get it to work.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished Scary Tales: Hail to King Mongo.  It was pretty short and it was a medium type game.  I have played better and worse.  Overall, not bad for $2.99, but I wouldn't pay more than that. They had quite a few puzzles that I am so tired of.  The kind where you turn a ring or a switch and the other rings or switches  move.  I skipped 2 of them because they were to tedious to finish.

I started Death at Cape Porto: A Dana Knightstone Novel SE.

Meg...How good to hear that your mom and dog are healing up nicely and that your fiance will be with you next month.

teeitup...Sorry, no I have not used Open Office.  How about using the search program and files to try to find it.

I'm about half finished with Hello Venice 2.  Other than that, I've been cycling through my Free to Play games.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

meg -- I'm so glad to read all your good news -- Mom and Tessa healing and your fiance will be there for good in April.   I have the feeling that you (and he) are a good bit younger than I am.  Does he have a job he can do anywhere or does his company have a branch he will transfer to?

I'm curently picking away at a VERY old game --  THE MAGICIAN'S HANDBOOK 2:  BLACKLORE.  I can only play a bit at a time because the items are very small.  The graphics are good though.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

QuestionDoes anyone know if there's a name for the type of solitaire card game when you go one up or one down in a chain?

I'm STILL playing Seven Seas Solitaire  I have it on my laptop in front of the TV and I only play it at night but still!  At least now I'm just past halfway through the 300 levels!  And I've only had to replay one stage.  In the stage I just played I missed the 20,000 gold coin goal by less than 500 coins!    Then I noticed that you can replay a level.    Why on earth hadn't I noticed that sooner and so saved myself having to replay the earlier stage?

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I believe it's called 'golf' solitaire.  Fairway Free to Play is the same type and no need to spend any money.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I remember playing the demo to The Magician's Handbook: Blacklore as well as the original wayyyy back in the day and the items were not only tiny but impossible to find! There weren't a lot of hints either as I remember, that or it took forever for them to reload because I found it sooo frustrating and refused to buy either lol

Lily, I am 31 and my fiance James just turned 32 years old. I will be 32 in June though as we are both born in 1982. I assumed I was one of the younger ones in these forums but I've learned not to be bothered with ages. This is the first person I ever dated that is my age as I usually dated younger~! Not to mention, now that I am disabled, most of the chronic pain groups I attend have much older people than I. Im always the baby of the group which I have learned to love as it feels like having a bunch of Grandma's and since I lost mine 2 years ago, having a grandma around is awesome. Also, it seems the people I meet up here are either retired or stay at home moms or teenagers so I have learned to branch out. But to answer your question... yes I am young.

stusue, I would love to give you feedback on the new Mystery of Unicorn castle game but I am going to be realistic that I probably won't get to it for awhile. I am incredibly horrible at playing games in a timely manner considering I just finished Nightmares From the Deep Sirens Call CE and that came out ages ago. I also realized I have the first Riddles of Fate game unplayed AND a bunch of other games I can't even install because I don't have the room on my computer. But when I get to it, I'll let you know  The demo was so original that I felt like supporting them since they have only released a handful of games. I even tried their game The Book Of Desires again but the cursor is wonky in that game too!~ Glad Beastmaster had no flaws.

I am also playing Viking Brothers and I find it enjoyable. I think this is by the same developer who did Kingdom Chronicles because the medals look the same and the barracks and people you scare off remind me of the same graphics. I hated Kingdom Chronicles so I am surprised I enjoy this one so much. But I guess I could be wrong.

I am so longgg winded. I need to go finish the bonus chapter of Siren's Call which wasn't the most interesting I've ever encountered and I missed a bunch of morphing parrots. Boo.
