Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I only have Valentine and daily quests now.  Someone said you kinda run out of quests in the mid/late 30s and start getting them again mid 40ps.  I did the Valentine's first so I had the money.  Then I spent most of my money, about 2 million, on food, mainly mac n cheese and pizzas. and I got 100 gold for a buying food achievement!  Since I have no quests I will pribably work on minis in Dinhammer alley to build my money back up.  Maybe buy some more pizza tonight!

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Better earn some coins today because there's still more decorations to be bought for Breezy Bay and Paw Paw Grove.

You don't have to only play games in the tailors to get coins.  The games in all the shops in Dinhammer Alley pay well.

I like to play the first 3 in the photo store (and the collectibles can always be auctioned for more money) and the 4 palette one at the painter's.  The first 2 at the painter's are also easy, but the collectibles won't get you much at auction.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I'm back up to 600,000 already  I had a bunch of Angelus and Rococo clocks that give 30 hammers for the collection.  Hammers aren't that hard to get for me, and there's nothing much in the hammer shop that I want so I only play it when I need money or Sakura teapots, so I decided to dump my clocks. I'm getting 45,000 each for them.   It seems like when you play the minis it's really easy to get the prize up to level 8.  When you need a higher level prize they don''t drop very often, so I've decided to go after the bronze and silver collections and forget the gold ones.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I am not doing the decorating quest today. Already missed one quest so won't get the reward for finishing all the quests and also won't get the one for completing all 4 collections. Hopefully by the time the next holiday rolls around I will be able to do better since I should have most everything opened by that point.

Don't know how ya'll got so much money. I do ok and got a couple of mac and cheese with the sale. Should be able to get one more. Have over 1200 in energy but one of the later cities now wants 245 to play the scene.

Wendy, may I know where to find the Angelus clock?  I've searched  high and low but don't know where they are.....in a mini-game? or in a HO scene?  Please can you share the tip.

Today I did not get a quest to decorate Dinhammer Alley.....I don't know why.

Looks like you're now a member of the club I belong to - the unable to finish all Valentine quests through no fault of your own.

If I had to be the victim of a programming glitch, I would have preferred to miss that quest, rather than the one I never received (opening up a mini scene).  You can still buy the decorations if you want them, whereas I can't open that mini scene unless I receive a quest to get that broom or mop or whatever it was.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Yes, I received a Valentine's Day quest today where I had to look for popcorn in the Carnival, and with that popcorn I opened up a new scene in the last HO scene in the game, the one where there is a rooster standing in front of a place (sorry, don't know how best to describe it).    Did you also receive that quest today?  Then I had another one in Red Mine and Doll Shop and I played them lots of times before collecting the reward just so I could collect all the dinner jackets and nightgowns etc.

Today I was so happy, I managed to get the Purple Heart to drop for me. I had been trying for quite a while to get that one.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I bet the Angelus clock is in West Virginia, in a mode other than fast shopper.  Unlucky me seems to be the victim of yet another glitch because no matter how many times I play to HO scene, it never changes mode.   Since I've already earned all the achievements for making gold sets, I think I'll sell off my clocks.

I bought 20 mac and cheese since it's on sale and I still have 4 million coins.  Don't ask me where they come from, I haven't a clue.

I've really pigged out on making valentine collectible sets, felt a little guilty about it 'cause it's not really in the spirit of the game, but between the glitches and the bonus punch changes, I'm over that feeling.

Besides not getting a valentine quest, and having to pay gold to skip the Red Mine quest, and then getting stuck at Matthew's place, I've been the victim of collectible glitch too many times to count (on some mini games, if you get the collectible to drop on the last move, it shows up in the reward box but doesn't make it to the screen where it gets swept away and added to your inventory).  I've had to back out of the Secret Librbary several times because I couldn't finish the scene due to glitches (finding items and having them removed from teh HO scene but the customer doesn't receive it or having the counter show I need to find 1 more object but no customer shows up).

I'll be glad when the valentine event is over and I can put this game on the back burner.
