Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Anki, really quickly before I got out with my sister ...

I joined Zylom last night - just the free registration so I could see what it was all about - and I've just received an email for half-price FunPass registrations - the cheapest being only having to pay 4.95 euro per month for either a 1-year or 2-year subscription!  I don't think that includes a free SE per month like the GH FunPass subscription, though.  If you've registered with them maybe you'll get an offer, too!

But if you want a GH FunPass subscription, maybe it would be better to wait for another offer, which they have from time to time.  sunshinej got hers with a 25% discount (which they had again just a couple of weeks ago) and I got mine with a 50% discount.  Something to think about.

But your VAT????  ** thud **

I buy from lots of different places when they have great sales, including GOG.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I see we have the same Valentine's Day sale as last year.  I did demo's on 3 games that I was interested in.  Forest Legends: The Call of Love - Love Alchemy: A Heart in Winter & Vampires: Todd & Jessica's Story.  I am going to get the Forest Legends & the Love Alchemy and I hemmed & hawwed over Todd & Jessica and thought with all of my games 2 new ones is enough.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Stuesue, I also got the offering (I´ve been registered there since 2002 ).
It seems like it was meant to be...
The offering was in SEK 468:- converted to $ 72.64 for 1 or 2 years. No free SE, but you always get 30% off when you buy games (even in the sales).
This morning I had decided not to have Zylom, but now I have changed my mind.
It´s gonna be a Fun Pass at Zylom

Everyone, thanks for all your help and suggestions

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Anki, I'm glad you've finally decided.    And it's great that you get 30% off even the discounted games!    You may not have as big a choice of games as at GH, and you get no SE, but at least they'll be in Swedish!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished Enigmatis The Mists of Ravenwood.  I didn't really care for it in the end.  I have no particular reason it just didn't really grab me. THe story was really doled out in dribs and drabs, so I found my attention wandering. The cutscenes were fairly lengthy as well.  I like a good fleshed out story but didn't like how they handled it in this one.

Yay. we finally have a BOGO sale....which is the President's Day Sale and it goes until Monday the 17th, so hopefully we will still have bonus punch Monday.  Looks like I'll be buying some games from my wish list.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Oscar, I liked Mists of Ravenwood but I was more taken with the first one. The first one is in fact one of my all time favorite games as I love the fact you do your own evidence board. I think I gave Mists 5 stars but I can't say its in my all time favorites but it did make me wish I had just gotten the SE and that I had gotten the CE of the original lol

Ok I bought Love Chronicles The Spell & Salvation in the Valentines day sale. I own the second one in this series and I tried The spell a bunch of times and never liked it but I decided to try it again as my tastes have changed and Im open to more games than I used to be and I really enjoyed it. I didn't have time to demo Salvation so lets just hope I like it. I didn't have it on my buy list but I can't remember if I demoed it...I never do this so fingers crossed.

VAT sounds crazy. Is that like the US's sale tax? I don't get charged tax on game sites for whatever reason but I do on Amazon now which I never used to among other sites. It varys according to state and California is one of the states that always pops up that you have to pay. Pennslyvania is nice in my opinion because you don't pay tax for food or clothes because they are considered essential life items. Oh the damage I could do if there was no tax on clothes here...

I need to demo the new Mystery Trackers which is back in raincliff which excites me. That is my FAVORITE  ONE! I keep hoping one lives up to that game but its for the pc since I just couldn't wait to have it. Bought it day it came out which I never do but hope this phantoms one is good. Also, I still need to demo Dark vampire romance? and bluebeards castle isn't made for my operating system  I really need to update this dog which is why Im trying to play my older games so in case they don't work on the new operating system, Im not sad or have to get a bunch of refunds. But I still need to buy 4gb of memory before I can do that.

I am having some really good things happen, can't really go into them because its personal but lets just say I got help from some people after my accident and now that the process is done, I will be able to rest easy for the next few years and not have to worry about this aspect which takes a lot of pressure off. It also helps James and I have a nice fall back just in case.

Ok back to one of my many unfinished games...

BOGO this weekend!!!  So tempting to get the 6 games instead of doing the BPM thing and only get 3. Usually I just get CEs but this time around I got a long list...

YAY, I'd wondered if we were going to get a BOGOF this weekend...    So, Barre, what's on your wishlist????    It might help me.

With my family here I've hardly had the time to demo anything!  Have any of you guys got any suggestions re the following CEs ... as CEs or SEs ... or neither?

 1.  Dangerous Games: Prisoners of Destiny  -  CE?
 2.  Mythic Wonders: The Philosopher's Stone  -  CE?
 3.  Witches' Legacy: Hunter and the Hunted
 4.  Haunted Train: Spirits of Charon  -  SE?
 5.  Amaranthine Voyage: The Living Mountain  -  CE?
 6.  Order of the Light: The Deathly Artisan
 7.  Myths of the World: Spirit Wolf  -  not at all?
 8.  Mystery Tails: The Lost Hope
 9.  Mystery of the Ancients: Three Guardians
10.  Fatal Passion: Art Prison
11.  Dark Parables: Jack and the Sky Kingdom
12.  Dark Romance: Vampire in Love
13.  Mystery Trackers: Raincliff's Phantom
14.  European Mystery: The Face of Envy

And these SEs?

15.  Nancy Drew: The Deadly Device
16.  Bluebeard's Castle: Son of the Heartless

Meg, I'm so happy that things seem to be going so well for you at the moment!    Anything that can help make your life easier is great!

As for tax, as I'm an Aussie and I'm registered everywhere as an Aussie with an address in Australia, I don't pay tax on anything when I order from anywhere outside Australia, even if I order something from the German BFG site (the tax is deducted for me from the published price even though I live here ).  So that's one good thing coming from a country so far from the rest of the world.
