Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Not happy here.  I downloaded the update and get a "file not found" error.  Can't play at all.

Did you read the BF forums?  SOme people said that uninstallng and redownloading did the trick.  Other found that going to Microsoft and downloading whichever Direct X was appropriate for their operating system solved the problem.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Thanks Tirama.  I was thinking of uninstalling and reinstalling.  I'll try that tomorrow.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I'm getting tons of stuff when i do the HOs and I'm getting the mini game prizes on the first click so I hate to change anything.  I have 2 different games going, maybe I will update one and see what happenbs.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Tried the uninstall & reinstall with no effect.  Read the BFG forums and apparently there's a DirectX 9 file extension that you need.  I'll try that when I get a chance.  My time is quite limited because I'm a MAJOR Olympics junkie and when I have some free time I need to get some chores done around the house.  Like dishes!  And laundry!

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I updated my laptop to the Valentines version,  When I look at the new cities there's nothing listed to be found,.  What's up with that?  I like the idea of a vehicle upgrade so your energy regenerates faster, I'm just too cheap to buy it.  Valentines starts at midnight for me, hope I'm still up!

You have to play the cities once and then the objects appear.  You might want to wait until you receive the quest for them.

I upgraded the vehicle once.  I'll do further upgrades after I see if I will need to fork over gold during the Valentine's Day quests.  Rather use my gold for the vehicle than for silly pet accessories (if I don't get a quest for them, I'm not buying).

It shouldn't take long.  Just go to the Microsoft site and download the one appropriate for your operating system (XP, Win 7, whatever).  You can do dishes while it downloads.  Multitasking!

I can't do laundry.  My washer broke (front loader with electronics front panel, can't get door open) and the repair person won't be here until Thursday.  DH finally found the manual override to open door (water level was low enough) to rescue clothes before they became mildewed and I took them to father-in-law's house to rewash.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

BF has posted a message about the DirectX problem in the ART forum and included a link to download DirectX.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Tirama, did you ever get Captain Matthew's HOS to work?  I just got the quest tonight and the same thing happened to me.  Spent the 84 energy and nothing!!!!  I did the update just now and checked it and didn't even see an option to use gold so wasn't going to chance it yet until I asked you.  Also, I noticed I had a vehicle upgrade sign and the red convertible but it didn't cost me anything.  Am I missing something?
