Well, it's just after midnight and I've just finished Rune Stones Quest.  What a great little free M3 game!    The boards were really easy with only a little variation but they were fun to play with appropriate icons, depending on whether you were in the gold mine, the vegie patch, the forest, the gem mine, etc.  I also loved the story and the little town that you build is so cute with fantastic HD graphics.  I loved the great attention to detail - for example, the accurate shadows and the great sunlight effects, the accurate portrayal of whichever part of the town was the background when you were playing a board, barrels outside the forge and wagon wheels leaning against the side of the buildings, etc.  It was a great game to play whilst watching the Olympics.   

I'm really sorry I won't be adding to my town as it grew from one wagon to a town with several streets a lots of really great buildings.  It would have been great to have the option to replay whatever levels you wanted to play (as different locations had different gameboards and gameplay) or a free-play mode, but once you've finished restoring the last of the 5 rune stones you've finished and that's it.  If you want to continue playing you have to start again.  There's also no score at all; you just get your stats at the end of each board, plus a time 'score', the best being a 1 (I only got one of those) and the worst being an 8 (thank heavens I only got one of those on the very last board) but who knows if you can get an even lower time 'score'. 

 

Stusue  - Web of Deceit Deadly Sands is not a game I personally would recommend.  It did have some neat interactive things in the HO scenes but not enough.  The story was all over the place and the game was suddenly over.  There are just too many things I didn't like about the game versus the few I liked.  I did start the bonus section and I will finish it, it seems pretty short.  The instructions seemed vague at best for the mini games and some of them needed instructions.  Others were incredible easy. Often you found three different things in a scene that you require either in the same room or one away.  It did have a jump map which was helpful.  I did find myself skipping a couple of puzzles near the end because I just didn't care.

I've just finished it and if you want a really quick, simple, fun game, this is it!    As sunshinej said, a game's especially good if it's free and fun! 

I had 2 glitches playing it, though, but I simply downloaded the BFG version and then, both times when I hit a glitch ... in the first scene I couldn't click to read the message on the phone, and later on the game simply closed ... I simply switched over to the BFG version, played for a few minutes to get past the bit with the glitch, and then went back to the free version.  That way I got through the full game no problem. 

The only thing I didn't like, though, was the ending.  They had to choose all the things that didn't belong in the temple and so I was looking forward to a HOS where you had to find all the things that didn't fit but, when the final doors were opened to the room, the game simply ended with a few screens with white writing on a black background, explaing what happened to them all.  That was it!    Oh well, it was a fun game that was perfect for me today.    And it was FREE! 

 

sunshinej, I was playing a fun little game this morning on GH (although the theme is dark) called The Curse of Silent Marshes, until I hit a violation error when I couldn't pick up something that I needed.  It looks like a lot of people had the same problem.  I really like the game (even though it's no big production) so I'm hoping they fix the glitch soon (it's been sent to the developers to correct).  So, I recommend playing the game - not buying - but waiting until the glitch has been fixed.
