Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

oscar --

It looks like I'll finish 4 games this month.  Not too bad considering hoiw much time I';ve been spending on F2P.  The only money I've spent this month is for my GCC -- and I still have that!

I finished THE FAR KINGDOM and absolutely loved it!  Good story, good graphics, good hints, M3, HOs and some Solitaire.  I'm in the bonus chapter of THE QUEEN'S TALE:  THE BEAST AND THE NIGHTINGALE.  The first two chapters were okay but after that it was check the SG, do a step or two, back to the SG over and over and over.  I'm not an intuitive person.  Some of these iHOPAs that the rest of you enjoy and find fairly easy just don't make much sense to me.  At leasdt it'll be another game checked off.

Way to go Stusue  Glad you didn't have to wait to finish.  I too, really liked this game and it surprised me as I wasn't expecting much and then I couldn't stop playing.  I thought the atmosphere was great and it was longer than I thought it would be and like you said the ending was quick and a tad disappointing, but they did leave themselves open for a sequel.  The devs for this game is Game Cartel and I looked and couldn't find anything else by them, so maybe a first effort.  If so, it was a really super good first effort.

sunshinej, I agree 100%.  I also just had a really quick look and couldn't find anything about Game Cartel but they're under Alawar's wing so may not be out on their own with their own website.  However, what I did find was that the developer is listed as - 2014 Game Cartel - so they may really be a new developer and, if so, like you said, wow, what a great first game!

Paranormal State - Poison Spring Platinum Edition is out today on GameHouse.  BFG only has the SE but, just like the Fall of the New Age PE, it has all the bells and whistles of a CE with a bonus chapter, but without the morphing objects and collectibles, which is maybe why BFG only offers the SE.  That's one thing that GameHouse is great for!

And I wasn't going crazy, thinking that GameHouse had lowered it's PE price to $11.99, undercutting BFG by $2.  It seems that some PEs are the full $13.99 and some ARE only $11.99, as Paranormal State PE is only $11.99.  However, just like BFG, their discount codes also work for 24 hours after the end of each sale.  So, I used the 50% off code and got it for $5.99, $1 cheaper than an SE on BFG, and still got 3 punches.  So, with my 2 free punches, I only need get one more discount game for - at the most (depending on their daily discounts) - $1.19 and I've got a coupon for an SE.  I know I needn't have bought it but just played it but getting 3 punches for it plus the 2 free punches almost gets you an SE coupon as well.  I love GameHouse's new rewards program.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I don't think anyone's interested however, just in case, GameHouse's monthly FunPass (play all their games FREE as well as get one SE coupon per month to use for any of their games) is on sale at the moment for $14.99 per month instead of $19.99, which is a 25% discount.  It's only available for the first 250 people and as I post this they're down to 211 remaining.  So, if you're interested, I suggest you decide pretty quickly.

I have finished Hidden Expedition: Smithsonian. I loved it!!!
Everything was great ( I even think that Eipix has passed Elephant as best developer).
In the Extra you could replay all the HOP:s and puzzles and find the morphs that you missed in the main game.
It´s in my Top 3 ( no Top 5, I just remembered both Christmas Stories ).

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

It looks like I will be in for a treat when I get ready to play Hidden Expedition: Smithsonian. Everyone has given it high marks.

I am playing Dark Tales: EAP's The Masque of Red Death right now and in the game they had a horse with a trap on his leg.  Now this bothered me as I have always admired horses.  Well, anyways the game has a good story.  Who is the bad guy? The mayor or the man in the red masque.  At the end it seems we the player get to determine which one it will be.

Oscar...I am not sure I like your computer tech's attitude.  Was he joking or serious?  It sounded like he was trying to embarrass you telling you that you belong on the wall of shame.  Why shouldn't a gamer have a collection of games on her computer.  I mean I also am a reader and I don't see anyone counting my books and saying wow you have way too many.

stusue... Oh good,  I would like to play Paranormal State.  I think the reason why BF only has the SE on some of these games is because they are limited to 2 CE's a week and if they offered more people would complain that there were too many for one thing and nothing to use their pcc's on for another.

Sunshine - he was only teasing.  He built it for me in June and when I went home with it he knew exactly what was on it and everything was so quick almost instantaneous.  So when I brought it back  for the power thing he noticed it was a little slower, just a little. Lol then he saw why.

I'm still on Fates Carnival in the bonus section.  It's quite long. I do love the diary thing they have done. Mhaving puzzles in it and having some pages be doorways.

Oh, I see now.  It is nice you have a computer tech person that knows you and your computer so well. I'm actually quite envious.  I wish I had someone who knows the ins & outs of my computer.  Alot of times it just baffles me when there is a problem.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

hi everyone  Its been quite awhile since I posted here so I really need to read the older comments on this post. (will get to that later). I've been sick with something really weird that only affected the joints on the right side of my body and hurt like hell and been busy with some other stuff. So now Im back hopefully. On the mend

I did play some of my games while being laid and drugged up haha
Witches Legacy-Lair of the Witch SE- I really enjoyed this game. Gave it 4 stars and its been awhile since I bought the SE instead of the CE and I liked the fact that there was no distraction. It made me question if I really need all that extra fluff. I used to buy CEs very rarely but with all the sales I have bought more and more. Starting to wonder if they are really worth the extra money.
Cursery-The Crooked Man & The Crooked Cat SE-now in all Blue Tea Games I own the SE of, they offer the morphs but this one either doesn't or they are very well hid which is disappointing. Also I really do not care for this game. Im halfway through and Im quite bored by it. The glitz and bling of this game is outstanding but the theme bores me. Sigh. we'll see if I can finish it
12 Labours of Hercules-can't remember if I mentioned this one but I loved it. Gave it 5 stars.

I bought 2 games that were DDs TV farm 2Nightmare Realm-In the End SE. I have the first nightmare realm and really had no intention of getting the 2nd one but I liked the demo so hey for 2.99 ill take it!

I also demoed:
Stray Souls-Stolen Memories CE & the original and decided I wanted both of them. Why did I pass on the first one?? Waiting for a good sale.
Emerald Maiden Symphony of dreams SE-  Hated initally but played more and love it now. Will buy
Farmington tales 1& 2- LOVE
Mystery of the Ancients-3 guardians CE-WOW graphics are AMAZING!! So life like! I will probably get CE if theres a good sale
Obsure Legends-Curse of the Ring-although Im kind of burned out on the pirate theme, I loved this game and will get it on a BPM

Hope everyone has been doing well, staying healthy and having a great time playing their games.
