Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I decided to play Spirit Soup-Queensbury Curse as its my oldest game and I knew it was an adventure game. I thought since it was an adventure game it would take me awhile. I started it at 10:30pm and finished it at 12:30am. I gave it 4 stars however because it kept my interest the entire time. I liked it! I am SOOO proud of myself for finishing this game. I bought it back in 2011.

That means my oldest unplayed game is Kuros which I bought 8/7/11...oh wait according to this Spirit was my 5th oldest unplayed game. Oh well.

The next 5 oldest are (not including the ones meant for pc that I can't play yet:
Kuros
Love and Death: bitten
Avenue Flo-Special Delivery
Scrapbook Paige
Laura Jones & The Legacy of Nikola Tesla

The only one that sounds even remotely appealing right now it Scrapbook Paige but I  think I will pass on that one and play a newer one

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I had to use my Gamehouse coupon or lose it so just based on the screenshot pictures I got Grimville: The Gift of Darkness.  Actually it is a lot of fun  it reminds me of today's DD City of Fools.  Not exactly like that game because City of Fools is unique,  but the same kind of quirkiness on a smaller scale.

I have been having a run of bad luck lately.

1.  The pull thingy off my zipper on my winter coat fell off.  To replace zipper the seamstress is charging me $45.00
2.  A bit of the vacuum cleaner cord got chewed up by the vacuum right down to the bare wires.  To replace the cord on the vacuum cost $45.00
3.  I broke 2 bread & butter plates in my set of dishes.  No store carried them so I had to get them from ebay cost $10.00.
4.  I spilled a gob of honey everywhere or it seems like everywhere, because I keep finding spots that are sticky.  cost - just my time & energy.
5.  While loading the dishwasher a plate just slipped out of my hands and broke inside the dishwasher.  I cleaned all the pieces I could see and now I am afraid to use the dishwasher in case there is more broken plate in there that I couldn't find.  Plus I need to buy a new plate cost $5.00.

Sorry about the run of irritating things sunshinej.

It's too late now but if it was JUST the pull tab on the zipper we've used colored paperclips (color that matches the coat).  They work and they're sturdy and they aren't too noticeable.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

For the many gamers frustrated by the glitch in  Haunted Halls  SE,  there is finally an update after almost 2 weeks,  and it actually works!  I've been checking every day,  & it's been offered for sale all this time despite the many complaints.  (Tech thread was 13 pages)  Now today,  when it's been fixed,  it's been removed.
Phooey!  I forgot to buy a game on Monday.  It probably would have been  Fall of the New Age.  Oh well,  next Monday will do.  I still got a free game coupon for buying  "Mind...something"  on sale.
Almost done with  Adelantado 3.  What a marvelous series.  And still obsessed with  King Oddball.
And of course a few others.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Thanks for the heads up Sandhan, I dl the new version, I have yet to buy it though.  I didn't get anythin on Monday either but I have four coupons to use by the 19th so I think I'll get (next Monday) Fall of the New Age, Tales of Lagoona 2,  Dark Angels Masquerade of Shadows and Alex Hunter Lord of the Mind.

I started Sable Maze Caves of Norwich last night and I quite like it.  It is just what I need right now, moves along at a fairly sedate pace and is fun to play.  Nothing is too complicated.  I won't get all the achievements  as I didn't choose to play in hard mode.

Sunshine those sort of weeks are the pits.  It's time for things to turn around for you, and they will.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I'm about 1/3 through Cursery.  It feels strange to be playing a HOPA after all the free to play and mosiac games.  Way more puzzles than FROG scenes, and the puzzles aren't the 1,2,3 you're done kind.

You know you've been playing too many games when your first reaction to a broken zipper pull is:  just use a paper clip or a safety pin.

lilyr... Thanks That's a really good tip to remember for next time, if it happens again.

Oscar...I hope it turns around sooner rather than later   LoL  It's starting to get expensive replacing & repairing stuff.

Oscar...I am playing Alex Hunter: Lord of the Mind.  I really liked it alot.  I am on the bonus chapter right now as Gamehouse has the premium edition.  The main game has a proper ending.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Good to know!

I am really enjoying Sable Maze Norwich Caves.  It seems quite long.  I have been playing for about 3.5 hours and have one last gate to open.  Not really a long play time but it has seemed long, but in a good way.  Puzzles are nicely varied.  Some I have never seen before and the HO scenes are very interactive.  Everything you find is required to get to the next item.  I've enjoyed everything I've played from Daily Magic.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished Grimville: The Gift of Darkness.  I played on casual mode and it was nice to just play a game without getting stuck or looking at a walkthrough.  Throughout the game they give you choices to make. I guess you would call them moral decisions.  I feel pretty good about my choices except for 1 of them.  They show what happens after you choose and with 1 choice I did, I felt pretty bad.  I don't know if it changes the outcome of the game or not. Some of the puzzles I skipped.  They were the kind where you had to align everything up correctly.  I tried, but I had no patience with them.  Maybe next time.  Also, be prepared to wear out your walking shoes in this one.

Now off to finish 1 of my two open games I have got going.
