Re: Finish your games challenge

Ah,  memories!  My very first game was the text game  Hitchhiker's  Guide to the Galaxy,  & Zork,  played on a used 64-bit Kaypro with the "Big  (6 inch)  Green Screen."  No,  actually,  my very first was called  Adventure.  Anybody remember  "You are in a maze of twisty
little passages,  all alike."?   In  "Hitchhiker,"  you had to save your game frequently so that when you died by bulldozer,  alien spacecraft,  or whatever, you didn't have to start over.  Actually,  you did anyway,  if you forgot your toothbrush or junk mail;  you'll need them later.  I think that's still my all-time favorite game.

Lily,  I'm playing  Zombie Solitaire  yet again;  thought I'd see if I could get further  (than level 64)  without buying powerups.  They give you quite a few wild cards.  Good luck getting to the safe island!

Re: Finish your games challenge

I've started playing zombie solitaire.  What irks me so far is that when you turn over the last card, if you can't play it, you're done.  I like the option of being able to play a wild card to get rid of the last card or two.  Doesn't seem like you can do that with this game.  The power ups seem to be one use only?  I like one where you can see what the next card in your deck is.

Hubby and friends just dug out my old Sega.  They had to go to a game store and find a replacement power cord. Think they said it was around $8.

Yes.  Adventure was another name for Colossal Cave Adventure.  You were limited to how much stuff you could carry around.  It took me days to figure out that you killed the dragon with your hands.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Finished Shadow: Price of our Sins, my Halloween game.  It was alright.  The HO scenes were very interactive.  If you pressed the ? in a puzzle it showed you the solution so no need for the skip button.  I also realized I haven't played the bonus game of Rite of Passage the Perfect Show so I will finish that tonight or tomorrow.  That one was a really good game that I enjoyed the whole way through.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Unfortunately with the Sega it was the actual portion you plugged the plug into that seemed to be the problem.   I imagine if someone wanted to take it apart they could look at it.  He did sell it all to a fella at the flea market here.  He knows, so I assume he plans on trying to fix it.  If not I'm sure he'll get his money back from selling the games.

Lol at the big 6" screen.

Re: Finish your games challenge

I finished Surface-The Soaring City CE and gave it 5 stars and I LOVE it. Only thing is some of the achievements didn't register like I never skipped a mini game nor did I use any hints since I played on the hardest level yet I didn't get achievements at the end for doing that. I also missed a flower because I was a few short and couldn't make the soaring city beautiful again. It still has flying bad guys around it but everything else is done and I loved it and I can't wait to play the new one.

The first computer game I ever played was not from BFG though....Its either....Number Munchers/Word Munchers, Oregon Trail, Where is Carmen San Diego? but those were mostly educational although I loved them. With my dad, we used to play on his old, old mac like 256 color mac with the smallest screen ever and with floppy disks, Tales From Monkey Island & Prince of Persia. When I had a playstation 2, I got a bunch of prince of persia games. The first one I beat no problem but as the rest came out, it became clearer to me just how not good I am at games where you fight against other people. Im not fast enough, don't charge my weapon long enough etc...so I went back to computer games.

If I don't buy from BFG, then I buy from Mac Games Arcade. They have a game manager kind of like big fish although it is where you can view all their games and is way more efficient but they have all kinds of old pc computer games like siberia or sherlock holmes games redone for mac computers. And they have killer sales sometimes. BFG used to release a mac game like every other week if that. There used to be days in a row where we'd have nothing out and Id be bored playing the games I had over n over. Now we actually do get a new game everyday even if it does suck haha oh how times change....

oh & I LOVE sheldon from BIG BANG THEORY. Such a great show xx

Re: Finish your games challenge

Oscar/Wendy, I had a sega growing up. Game systems were annoying back then because you couldn't save anything. If I wanted to beat Sonic the Hedgehog, I had to shut the tv off with the game paused and then come back to it later, hoping no one had turned off the console lol playing a 15 level game could take days and my mom would always turn it off sooner or later. lol

Re: Finish your games challenge

On my ex-husbands computer in -86 ( I think) it was a game that was called House, you could pick up stuff and go into an elevator, but I never got it.
In -92 we got a Sega Master for our kids   I sneaked in an played Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade when the kids had gone to bed.

Oh, I nearly forgot: my first game was in 1982 from my sweet mum who gave me Donkey Kong on the double screen, I really loved that one

I have finished Enigmatis: Mists of Ravenwood CE. I enjoyed it very much!
It was a bit annoying that I missed one of the butterflies

Todays TGT is Whispered Secrets: Into the beyond. I really want this!!! I did the beta and loved it, I must be strong and not download the demo, otherwise I will hit the Buy button...

Re: Finish your games challenge

I finished Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger.  I had to play several levels over to get a gold star for finding all the recyclables and lost and found things.  Didn't use any hints so I had a perfect score.  Some of those items were tiny and/or very wll hidden.

I'm going to replay Macabre Mysteries: Curse of the Nightingale Collector's Edition.  I've given up waiting for a sequel.
