Re: Finish your games challenge

stusue...Thanks, that Hoyle game looks just the ticket.  I tried d/l it on my XP, but no go.  Not many games d/l to this old thing and work anymore. (sigh)  I'll have to wait to try it on my Win7.

I know which fishie you mean that has been missing since Sept. 24th and I admit I've been worrying about her too.

That's too bad about ahgoodun.  I haven't read the quiet and peaceful thread so never really knew him.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Govols, Adventurous Marianne hasn't been heard from since 24 September, I personally haven't heard from her since 21 September, and she hasn't been answering any PMs, all of which is so unlike her.  She'd been having lots of treatments for all her pain and I don't know if that has anything to do with anything.  But I sure am worrying.

Re: Finish your games challenge

I don't think I know her. I did see lordshandmaiden is missing and lilwaif hasn't posted in awhile either. She posted a few times at my site in the beginning but not much since then.

I think maybe we were not addicted to games so much as the site itself. When CCC closed down it became harder to just go somewhere and talk about games in general and then life in general. Too spread out . I think lots are just focusing on RL now.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Govols2, Marianne was one of us Adventurous Fishies on BFG and now she hangs out on the Challengers site.  Another I know who's missing is GMum.

From those I've seen, the site the most like the CCC is PondFriends with, I think, nearly 700 members and lots of exactly the same threads.  However, I also think it's pretty anti-BFG.  I'm sorry but I didn't know about your thread and so haven't visited there.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Ok, I remember Marianne now. Just thought Marianne and not Adventurous Marianne. I lurked in the Adventure thread from time to time

PF is ok . I get a little confused there. This is my forum

Re: Finish your games challenge

I finished the bonus chapter of Phantasmat: Crucible Peak Collector's Edition,  While it wasn't a bad game, there was nothing really special about it either.  That's the last CE left from last year and my last ERS Game.  I doubt I'll be getting any more from them.

I started Laruaville.   I'm not sure what needs to be done to get the trophy for solving 10 puzzles.  I'm sure I've played more than 10, but I had to use a hint on one of the HO scenes.  Do I need to play 10 in a row without using a hint?

Re: Finish your games challenge

Tirama, congrats!  You've now finished all your CEs from 2012!  WTG!!

I'm not a particular ERS fan.  However, their 50th game is in my top 3 fav games.  I loved it, especially the way you were asked before going through the portal directly to the bonus chapter if you wanted to go back and find any collectibles that you'd missed.  How many games give you that opportunity?

I've finished Laruaville (well, at least I've finished building the town) but missed achievements.  I think you have to just keep playing to get them all.  However, if I remember correctly, I thought that there was 1 or 2 that I thought I'd never manage to get.  Oh, yeah, at least one I'll never be able to get without starting over is playing 20 puzzles as the guy who always gave me mahjong puzzles asked, after I'd said no for the 3rd time, if I wanted to skip them from then on.  I thought I was only saying no to mahjong but I wasn't given any HOSs after that, either, so won't be able to play 20 puzzles.

Re: Finish your games challenge

sunshinej, I downloaded the card game onto my Vista laptop and it worked fine.  I've already forgotten but I think there were 13 or 15 games.  Maybe more.  Boy do I have a memory  like a sieve.  Anyway, I won Go Fish (5 to 4, 2 and 2) and I also won War.  In Go Fish I played against a parrot, some other animal that I've already forgotten, and one human.  And I chose to have them all talk.  But boy am I cute!  If you want, you get to choose your facial structure, hair, skin tone, mouth, nose, eyebrows, glasses, blouse, voice, etc.  So have fun!

Re: Finish your games challenge

I played a little of My Singing Monsters tonight.  I have the first 3 monsters and now I seem to be stuck.  All my goals are way beyond my reach.  I have 14 diamonds and I need 30 for the next monster.  How do I get diamonds?  Besides buying them?

I just went back and fed them some more and now Ican finally breed a new monster.  Should I have more than one breeding station?  Should I keep feeding them?

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Wendy,  Welcome to the world of singing monsters!  (I could quit any time I want to!)  There are good suggestions in the forum,  plus  Wiki has an excellent resource,  with charts & pictures.  Without writing a novel,  let me suggest:  don't spend real money--you don't have to,  but you need a lot of patience.  The  "visit"  button lets you view other people's islands,  to get some ideas.  Very slow at first,  but your monsters earn you money;  they make more as you feed them to raise their levels. Don't spend diamonds;  they're hard to come by at first,  As soon as you can,  buy a  "mini-mine,"  it gives you a diamond every day.  Only one breeding station per island.  Ask anything you want,  and have fun.
