Survivor Blood vs Water

Anyone watching this? I thought the first episode was a good introduction to the new and old cast of characters as well as this seasons format.

Re: Survivor Blood vs Water

I love Survivor but I don't get to watch it until I get home in late October.  What's the theme this year?

Blood vs Water.  One team is returning players, the other is their loved ones.  Eg Rupert is back, again.  Along with his wife.  Redemption Island is back too.  Let me know if you want more info or if you want to be surprised.

Re: Survivor Blood vs Water

Oscar, that sounds intriguing.  Is it turning out to be good?  I don't really have TV until the 18th of October or so.  I've had it this week, but only a couple of channels.  Hubby loves TV so I will be watching a lot more once I get home.

Wendy, this season has been very good.  Very exciting.  So far we have had one big whiny returnee who quit last ep and two people have gone home from redemption island.  It would be worth catching up on the four weeks when you get back imo.

Re: Survivor Blood vs Water

I just found this thread while I was looking to see if there was a tech thread that explained the smilies.  I'm pretty sure I've watched every season of SURVIVOR since the first one with Richard Hatch and Rudy (the only two players I remember from it).

I'm really enjoying this season too!  I think having a connection on the other team (whichever team you belong to) makes strategizing more important when the team is trying to figure out who to vote out.  I'd watch the whole thing too Wendy.  I don't want to say too much and spoil it.

Re: Survivor Blood vs Water

Lily I've seen every season as well and have several on DVD, sad yes, I know.  Loll or me I can see the smilies expressions and since I generally post from my IPad I can pinch and expand to see them a little more clearly.

This season has been pretty darn good and yes I do like the strategizing they are doing.  For instance when the newbie team voted out one player hoping that her loved one would switch to try and make the other team weaker.

And why did they ever bring that big whiner back?  You know who I mean.  Gawd I couldn't stand him on his original season and disliked him just as much on this one.  His loved one seems like a pretty decent sort too. Can't wait for this week, and the tribe shake up.

Re: Survivor Blood vs Water

I couldn't understand why they brought him back either oscar.  And I do like his loved one.  I guess we can be REALLY glad that they didn't bring the Hantz's back!  Although after last time I'm sure Jeff wouldn't want to be within a mile of either of them.

I usually eat a very good meal (and sometimes have a glass of wine) while I'm watching SURVIVORl  I don't know if it's in response to their deprivation or because I really enjoy the show.

The shakeup should be interesting.  I don't want to say any more in case Wendy decides to watch it.

Re: Survivor Blood vs Water

Ooh the Hantz's.  I will say Russell in his first season was a pretty stellar player though. Little Hantz they shou;d never have brought back, he was quite unbalaned.  They had another brother on Big Brother Willie, and he was promptly kicked off for hitting someone. Go figure.  They all have little man syndrome it would seem. A volatile lot.

Boston Rob has been my favourite player since Marquesas where I got a kick out of him and since then I thought was a pretty flawless player. He and Amber were quite enjoyable on Amazing Race as well.  (twice)

I'm in a minority here on the sites I go on as he was so calculating, but I thought Brian was a pretty brilliant player in Thailand.

And at least there was no Phillip of the pink panties.  lol he did make me laugh.  Poor guy.

Re: Survivor Blood vs Water

Brian in Thailand?  I'm drawing a blank.

Not a big fan of Boston Rob.  He's a bit too cocky for my taste.  He did play well but...

Would you believe that in RL Phillip's brother is our Chief of Police?
