People and things in games that leave you shaking your head

I tink the most annoying character I've encountered in a game is Tim, from the Haunted Halls series by ERS.

In the first game, you spend most of your time wallowing around in sewage and other garbage to rescue his sorry rear end only to have him toss you a quick "Thanks, sweetie, now let a man deal with this" and get himself captured again less than 5 minutes later.

In the second game, once gain you rescue Tim, who promptly walks off into the sunset without even thanking you, and leaves you alone to rescue his kid sister in the bonus chapter.

When the third game was released and the game description revealed that Tim is now your character's fiancé, I had had enough.  No way was I going to play a game as a person stupid enough to contemplate breeding with Tim.

Though I would like to know what stupidity Tim got up to in game 3.

Annoying character in a game - that stupid cop in City of Fools

Lol maybe we get to just leave Tim to his own devices and he is still there.

the kid in Botanica was irritating to me.  And can I say I was happy to read that a couple of you were not in the Botanica bandwagon.  The general consensus seemed to  be it was wonderful.. I didn't care for it.

Can't stand that cop.

and why can't we use anything sharp to cut.  Why do I have to wait for scissors when I have a knife?

In RL - all the whack jobs that were at the gas station Tuesday.  I thought there might have been a full moon.

Re: People and things in games that leave you shaking your head

My most annoying characters to date were the fairy in all the Princess Isabella games, and that stupid advisor who popped up constantly in Be A King to tell me to build more houses to expand my town, even on levels where it wasn't possible to build or upgrade more houses.  And what if I don't want to expand my town?  Ever think about that, Advisor?  Huh?

I'll never understand why, when "you" (whoever you are in a game) are called to investigate a case, you don't think to bring a crowbar, screwdriver, insulating tape, and a knife with you (even though you're thorough enough in your packing to include such necessities as a hamburger and a mustache).  It would save so much time.  And then, when you FINALLY find these things, and use them, you throw them away, so if you have to cut something else, or pry something else up, you have to find another one!

Yep, Noelle, I'm a Master Detective called in to explore a deserted spooky house/hospital/hotel/town and I show up without a flashlight or matches or money.  I'd love a game that started you off with a Swiss Army Knif and you had to figure out which littlr goody on it to use instead of searching through rubbish to find a corkscrew or whatever.

I agree with the cop in City of Fools.  Pure annoyance and so many times he  pops up and then you would have to wait until he would leave.

I am playing a game where you use a broken bottle to cut stuff with and it stays in your inventory for the next time you need it.

Yes, about the cop. And there's absolutely no point to him, other than being annoying and making you wait while looking at his ugly face. I don't know why they thought that would be a positive thing to add to the game, which other than that type of thing was a great game I thought.

Now you made me curious....what is the name of the game?

As usual I haven't played any of the games you are talking about but (except for the Haunted Halls games) I have them all.  The grandson in FARMSCAPES and YARN BARN irritated the heck out of me!
