Well, Fudge, you're obviously much smarter AND nicer than me!
I got the achievement right at the beginning after scaring 6 butterflies!
Than I continued to scare everything I could!
Seriously, one of the things I look for in a game is extra clicks in scenes. I think it adds some depth to the game and makes it more interesting and fun. Not only scaring butterflies and birds, but also getting information about everything. I remember one game, although I can't remember its name right now, where you could click on just about everything in every scene and you got some sort of comment, either about some backstory or just some comment on how beautiful/old/interesting/scary something was. It's especially good when you get backstory info about the story or characters as the more information you get the better a story is!
Don't forget to give your sunnies a good clean before you try Gizmos!

Morning stusue!
I see what you mean about Gizmos! Played to 1.3 and had to rest! Mind you, it is first thing in the morning for me. Well, it's just gone noon but I've only just got up! I might try it a bit more later. Why on earth the grid is down on the bottom right I just don't know.

Evening, Fudge! Hope you're feeling even better today!
You didn't get up until after noon???? You sound like my sister!
In Gizmos, having the grid down the bottom in the corner didn't bother me too much and I imagine the grid will expand away from the corner as the grids get bigger. It was more the blinding white cross and foggy white background that I couldn't stand. I have no desire to torture my eyes and poor brain by playing another single grid.

I've just finished Grim Legends 3: The Dark City CE.
A really good game but not very challenging, including the HOPs and MGs. The most challenging things were the collectibles. They're only in zoom scenes - one per scene - and they started out really easy to spot but got progressively more difficult as they started hiding behind things and in the dark shadows. I actually missed two but I don't know how. And you can't go back to get any you missed when you've finished. Which is a real pity as I thought they were really cute - named Skullimps, they were what the name suggests ... imps with skulls instead of heads! You collect them for nothing but an achievement and you can look at them all in Extras but you can't see them up close ... a real pity. And there aren't any in the bonus chapter, which is something that always annoys me, especially when the bonus chapter is so short, as finding them would make it seem a tad longer.
[Fudge - this bonus chapter will seem REALLY short to you! LOL!]
There are lots of achievements and some different ones, some of which are hard to get (I missed 4 or 5). But it's impossible to get all of them, which I hate. There's one for finishing the tutorial and there's one for finishing the game in Expert Mode. Pity Expert Mode doesn't have the tutorial, so you can't get both of those achievements! Unless, of course, you can play in another mode (I played in Custom) until you've finished the tutorial and then swap to Expert Mode. Or play in whatever mode you want and then just change to Expert before you finish. I thought of trying that but forgot. But I missed some others, as well, so it ended up not being all that important.
There are very few options to choose from in Custom Mode - very minimal. No choice to turn off BBTs, contextual pointers or Plus Item indicators. The BBTs weren't too bad, the contextual pointers weren't important as I could play using touch, but I really hate having the Plus Items pointed out.
The graphics were great! Much better than the last game in the series. The animation is a bit blurry but the movement is perfect! Like a movie. Definitely leaps and bounds ahead of most other developers (apart from those whose animated scenes are as clear as the static scenes). The music was also great and very atmospheric. There were also good ambient sounds. And, my favourite, lots of comments when you click on things in the scenes. And one of the main characters not only sounds exactly like Sean Connery but looks like him, too!
The main game took me a tad over 4 hours and ended conclusively. The bonus chapter continues straight on from the end of the main game, where you play as the young guy in the main game, and you have to escape from the crystal (in which you were imprisoned after saving the world). It's just as good as the main game but it was only 45 mins! There's a moral choice at the end but I don't know if it changes the ending of the game, if you have to play twice to get both endings. I didn't feel like playing it again to find out but I think you'd get the same ending no matter which of the moral options you choose, judging by the ending I got.
If you get the CE you can replay the HOPs and MGs. The HOPs are varied with lists, FRAGs and 12 of something. In Extras, I replayed one 12-of HOP and it was the same both times. However, when I replayed one of the lists, the list changed each time - I think the first 4 times were different, then the 5th was the same as the 1st - which offers good replay value. I can't imagine the FRAGS could change. And you can actually play all the HOPs and MGs before you've even started the main game, which I did!
You can also watch the cutscenes, view your achievements, Skullimps and notes (I think only 9), as well as view concept art, which you can't save. There's no soundtrack to save (although one reviewer mentioned that you could), but I generally copy that from the game files, as they're normally in a format I can copy and play, so that isn't a problem.
My Recommendation: SE or PE with FunPass
The main game ends conclusively. The bonus chapter is really short and, though good, and you, as the main male character, save yourself after you sacrificed yourself at the end of the main game and defeat the evil being, it's not necessary. And, even though I really liked the collectibles, which are challenging, and you can replay the HOPs and MGs (and how often do you actually do that?), there isn't enough offered in Extras to warrant double the cost. There's no Souvenir Room, or extra MGs or HOPs, for example.
But I definitely recommend the SE as it's a fun game and has an interesting story, with great graphics and music.

I'm beginning to feel better every day, stusue!
Oh yes, hopefully the grid will expand. That bottom right thing bothered me more than the
11AM is my usual getting up time!!!! I watch TV until the wee hours.
Grim Legends 3 will be great to play if they get it on GH. I hope they do. I've not heard back from them yet about the first game, I think I was too late to catch them before the weekend.

I'm glad you're feeling better!
When I was up every night watching the Paralympics, which were at night for me like they would have been for you, I was getting to bed at 3 am, 4 am, even 5:30 am ... and still up and about before 10 am! I'm both a night owl and an early bird, which is great! but not too good for the poor brain.
I had a real problem with the blinding grid. I had a real problem looking at it. But I REALLY hated having to use the mouse!
And I bow down to the amazing poet! I loved your 'and' poem!

September was my usual dismal month as far as finishing games went.
I finished 2 1/2 -- SLIDERS, which I had been playing since May! (557/560 completed. 3 wouldn't work), ALICE'S PATCHWORKS 2 a pretty good mosaic game, and a replay of FARMSCAPES. I'm counting this as 1/2 game because I hadn't done all 3 farms before. I played BIG KAHUNA REEF 2 also, but I've played that a bunch of times, so I don't count it. I was looking for another M3 to play so that's why I started FARMSCAPES.
And just to make the month even worse, I bought 4 CEs (total cost $15 because I had GCCs) and 4 SEs using PCCs. One of these months I'll finish more than I buy.

You did finish some long games though, lily
I'd logged off last night, stusue. I usually log off around 9PM otherwise I'd never watch anything on TV! Fell asleep last night on the sofa though so no idea where I'm up to on The Good Wife.
I just finished Emberwing: Lost Legacy PE and I enjoyed it a lot. The bonus chapter was long enough for me!!! I liked it better than the main game!
And thanks again, stusue for what you said about my "poem" I'm not a better poet than you though!

Thank you FudgeChi. The were long. Where is this poem? I went back a few pages and didn't see a poem. I'm curious.
