Yesterday I finished Dark Chronicles: The Soul Reaver, it was rubbish and I don't know why I carried on with it! The good thing about it is that it was short!
Then I started Crime Secrets: Crimson Lily and finished it today. Not a bad game at all.
I can't keep up with GH, they are putting so many games up lately, sometimes 3 a day!

I finished Sable Maze: Sullivan River Collector's Edition, Sable Maze: Soul Catcher Collector's Edition, and Fantasy Mosaics 16: Six colors in Wonderland. Working on Fantasy Mosaics 17: New Palette.
I've acquired 58 games so far this year, and finished 59. Just when I think I'm all caught up with a series, the developer releases another game. I'll never catch up.

At least you're making progress Tirama. I've got series where I've only played the 1st or 2nd of long series.

I've been playing the most amazing game with my FunPass!
Epistory - Typing Chronicles
Epistory - Typing Chronicles is a game like no other! Walk through a world that unfolds around you as origami artwork, where the gameplay is all about writing your own story. You are a writer chasing her muse, typing your way through every scene. Not only is this game extremely fun, but it's also a great way to train your brain to type better and faster. Try Epistory - Typing Chronicles today!
- play as a writer, chasing her muse
- explore a beautiful world of origami art
- touch up your typing skills with a completely unique gameplay style
- find the magic power of words in this epic adventure
It is certainly a game like no other!
You ride around on an origami fox using the keyboard, fighting battles against creatures that either slither along the ground or fly, by typing the words above them - the flying animals are only 1 letter (they go fast) and the others range from 2 words up to 4 words, with the big boss battles at the end of each level being words of maybe 15 letters. You also click on the space bar as you go along, typing words above things like mud patches or rocks to clear an area or grow trees and flowers, or above things like logs blocking your way or burning branches blocking your way, to move to a new area.
You also have to find part of a picture in each area, as well as chests, and you come across some puzzles as well that you have to solve to open gates, etc.
I'm currently stuck in a waterworld where not only do I have to type words to fight insect beasts but I also have to change from 'ice' to 'fire' in order to type the 'blue' words or 'orange' words, depending on whether a beast is ice or fire, or whether an obstacle is ice or fire, and that's all while battling the beasts. You have to work out which is closer and type those words as different beasts move at different speeds. The faster the animal the shorter the words, the quick flying ones being only 1 letter.
I've just entered an area where I have to keep on opening gates by typing words but, what makes it even more difficult, apart from having to quickly switch between ice and fire (you type whichever you need when you hit the space bar for battles when you see the beasts heading for you) but you have to type frozen words to turn the water to ice so that you can cross areas, although then you just slide across the ice. So you have to line yourself up pretty carefully. And the whole area is a honking big minigame like they have in HOPAs, although this is an entire world you're moving through, not just one little minigame, where you have to say roll a ball into a hole and you have to slide it around when it will slide in one direction until it hits an obstacle or wall, and you have to work out which direction to go in so that it doesn't fall off.
And you can't see where you're going in the big picture and you keep on opening new areas up (and the new areas open up like origami magically unfolding - it's so cool - and you hear all the paper unfolding), more than one at once, and it's so easy to get lost or, as I've done several times, go around and around in circles, not knowing how to get out of an area or where to go to get to the gate that you can see on the other side of the rocks.
You increase your experience points every time you correctly type a word and each time you reach a new level of experience you can choose which powerups you want ... by typing them, of course! You can choose things like moving faster, having words burn up on their own, etc. There are about 10 (?) different things you can choose from and each one has different levels.
It's an incredible game. And so different! It helps if you know how to touch type so you can beat the beasts in the battles, especially the boss battles when they just keep coming in waves. But I think I saw that you can turn automatic difficulty learning (or something like that) on or off (the default is on) and so maybe, if you can't touch type very quickly, you won't get such hard battles as I do, as I can touch type very quickly.
You also have to have the patience of Job because you can end up going around and around an area, as I mentioned, not knowing where to go or what direction to head in, until you finally stumble upon something or you experience up. There's a map but it isn't really all that much help. However, now that I've experienced up quite a bit, a white line shows up when I hit the space bar to see if there's anything to type, that shows me where I have to go (although it's an as-the-crow-flies helping line, so I still have to work out how to get where it's telling me to go as there may be a blocked forest in the way.
And as you move throughout the unfolding world, your muse is writing a story and the sentences appear on the ground near where you are and it's read to you. It's the story of your journey through the world and it's written in a beautiful style. You have to experience it to know what I mean, as I'm explaining it all very badly.
Anyway, this is such a fun and unique game that I'm going to buy it, even though I'm currently playing it with my FunPass. However, it's not a PE but is still 2 credits! I'm going to check that out before I get it.
So, for those who have a FunPass I highly recommend you demo it. It may not be your cup of tea but it's certainly worth a try, even if just to see how the origami unfolds and to try something totally different.
For all those who don't have a FunPass and who'd rather not demo it over at GameHouse, I highly recommend you demoing it when BFG gets it, which I'm sure it will at some point!
I just can't stop playing it.
Now, if only I can work out how to slide over the ice (on my trusty fox, of course) and turn all those blue squares on without sliding over an orange square (which turns all the blue squares off) so that I can open the next gate ...

Yesterday I played what I think is probably the best game I've ever played!
Forgotten Places: Regained Castle
It only got 2.6 stars and a recommendation rate of 29% at BFG but I think it's the best game ever (or at least very close to it). Yes, there are some annoying old-fashioned mechanics but the story and gameplay more than made up for those.
I'll give a more detailed review later but I can highly recommend it. If you can overlook the mechanics (like having to drag and drop inventory items), and overlook the old-fashioned gameplay (like all the HOSs being straight lists), which seemed to stop most fishies from playing it long enough to find out what a wonderful game it is, you'll be rewarded with a wonderful game with the most amazing graphics and music and a really good story. And it's long (7.5 hours, plus over an hour for the extras) and has 57 collectibles, as well as extras. And it's only an SE!
Highly recommended!

I was going to get the Dark Parables game on Thursday with Wednesday's sale code after I demoed it but, when I went to get it a little bit later, I had a blackout in my attic, which is where my modem is, which meant no internet and no phone until an electrician came on Friday arvo to fix it, which meant it was too late for the sale ... so no Dark Parables. And I'm not getting it with this weekend's 50% off retail sale.
I haven't demoed today's TGT yet but it doesn't really matter as I don't really need to until the next good CE sale.

GH normally releases 7 games a week, just like BFG. However, because they don't work on the weekends, they normally release more than 1 game on Friday, or sometimes on Monday or Tuesday. But it normally averages out to 7 games a week. They miss the occasional weekday as well.
But it must be easy for them now, now that they're releasing all the BFG games. Fortunately for me, most of the CEs they're releasing I only have as SEs, so I'm really happy!

Hi stusue,
Yes, they do miss the weekends but I'm sure they put up more than 7 last week or maybe it just seemed more to me!
I downloaded Epistory but just got a blue screen Tried different setting but nope...maybe because I use virtual windows, some games just won't work for me because of that, thankfully not many!
I hope GH gets Forgotten Places: Regained Castle at some point then.

I'm so sorry you can't play Epistory!!!!!!!!
Why don't you write to GH and ask how to play Epistory on your computer? Let them know that you've tried everything and see if they have any other suggestions.
GH has the first Forgotten Places - Forgotten Places: Lost Circus - so I imagine they'll get the second one! It's just a question of when...
I played it on GH years ago ... I think it was released 5 years ago (?). I liked it, as far as I can remember. I think it was one of the very first games I played on GH. I can't remember it well enough to compare it to the new one but I can recommend you play it.
And I just got caught up with my GH games list and you were right!
This past week GH released 10 games!!!!!!!!!!!
7 last week, 8 the week before, 7 the week before that ... but 10 this week!
