Thanks stusue! You said the BG was a prequel. So the SE would be okay? I don't really care about the length of a game.

That's a LOT of laundry! Our summer has been very hot and very dry. We were more than 16 cms below where we should have been. Yesterday we had a good, long, soaking rain. Hope it's not too late for the farmers.

I can barely keep my eyes open, so just a quick note for the other 2 games I played and some demos in case anyone's thinking of getting any tomorrow, if there's a BPM, with the the sale:

Danse Macabre - Crimson Cabaret PE

- an oldie, good but not Eipix's best

Kingdom of Aurelia - Mystery of the Poisoned Dagger PE

    - BFG has the SE, GH has the PE
    - Played without any BBTs - not a word! - and no contextual icon changes
    - With no help this is probably the hardest game I've ever played!
    - You have to really, really think outside the box!
    - Adventure game with a few easy HOPs and MGs thrown in for the masses
    - Looks and plays just like a LFA game (the characters reminded me of Syberia)

    Recommendation: SE from BFG or play PE with FunPass at GH (BG good but short and not necessary)

Danse Macabre: Ominous Obsession CE

    - Too easy and no excitement
    - Usual clichés eg. broken zipper
    - Stupid BBT comments when you choose not to have any
    - MGs way too easy
    - Inventory puzzles way too easy
    - Plus items indicated

    Recommendation: neither SE nor CE

PuppetShow: Her Cruel Collection CE

    - Only help you're able to turn off is BBTs - not contextual icon changes or plus item indicators
    - And the BBTs are only turned off for inventory use - still in HOPs and still gives TMI
    - Plus item indicators are red then turn green when active
    - Game way too easy
    - I was bored with no challenge, although I liked the game ... what a pity!
    - Definitely added to my list of games to play with my FunPass when GH gets it

    Recommendation: neither SE nor CE

Haunted Hotel: Silent Waters CE

    - LOVED the creepy atmosphere
    - 3 different collectibles - morphs, emblem parts, objects in music room
    - Challenging without BBTs and contextual icon changes
    - Eg. being stumped, clicking everywhere but nothing, nothing, so click on Hint ...
         - who would've thought to shine the torch in the dark corner to trigger a HOP?!
         - I'd clicked on that dark corner so many times but no zoom, nothing! ** big grin **
    - The only reason I didn't get it on Saturday was that I wanted the extra punch for my punchcard
    - But I've just read that it's "disappointingly short", so now I'm not so sure
    - I just wish I knew what mode they played it in as, without all the usual help, I found it really challenging
    - But, playing without all the help usually makes a game really long!
    - I've got a free game coupon so I'll check the reviews first thing tomorrow and then decide
    - So, a review ... hopefully ... tomorrow arvo for those of you over the big pond

    Recommendation: Tentative Yes - I'll decide tomorrow

Any other games that I haven't mentioned or reviewed that anyone would like to know what my recommendation is?

If you noticed, my recommendation for Sable Maze: Sinister Knowledge was actually the SE, not CE, because the BG was short (but good) and unnecessary, there's no reply of any HOPs or MGs, and you can't go back and find any collectibles you missed, which, had I known before I got it, would have meant a no for the CE, especially as you actually do something with the puzzle pieces! I find that I always get so involved in the story that I totally forget to look for any collectibles, which was certainly the case in this fun game, hence I only get CEs when you can go back and find any you missed once you've finished. However, unfortunately, no one had mentioned this in any of the reviews, which would normally be mentioned, so I didn't think it would be a problem. But, as I said, I don't regret getting the CE as it was so much fun.

I had a lot of washing as I had heaps of winter stuff that I'd been wearing for most of the summer - thick, warm tracksuit pants, jumpers, even winter coats and throw rugs! - as well as a build up of towels, etc. I also found some more of the clothes I'd bought in Sydney last year that arrived in the container stuff I had shipped over. I thought I'd washed everything when it all arrived but obviously not! All the winter stuff was fine but I found some summer stuff that I would have worn had I realised it was in the middle of all the winter jeans, etc. And I also found a pair of jeans I've been looking for for a couple of years! Yay!

I really appreciate your reviews stusue. I haven't bought a HAUNTED HOTEL since CHARLES DEXTER WARD, since they changed developers. This one looks like it might be worth getting though.

Yay for finding clothes you've been looking for! I've been losing some weight (not on purpose and my MD can't find anything wrong) so I can comfortably wear a bunch of clothes I haven't been able to wear in quite a while.

My opinion of Grim Façade The Artist and The Pretender is the opposite. I'm bored to tears by it. I keep giving it a chance but I think I'm just going to throw in the towel. I have decided if I'm not enjoying it after a couple of chapters I'm done. I have too many unplayed games to keep plugging away at something I'm not enjoying and I'm on Chapter 4, I checked the wt.

EXTRA EXTRA PUNCHES TODAY !!!!

I think BFG has a glitch as I've been getting an extra punch, as well as the normal extra Monday punch, on everything today!

I'd planned on using one PCC (today's TGT) and my free CE game coupon to fill a card, and that was it. However, when I used my first PCC I got 2 punches! And the same for the next one and the next one. So I decided not to use my free game coupon, as it's valid until 1 October, and to use the weekend's sale code to get 2 CEs instead. And guess what ... I got 10 punches! Yep, 10! So you basically get a free SE with every CE purchase.

I've only been getting games through the GM, though, as I'm not game to try getting them through the site, just in case you don't get the extra extra punch that way.

But I wonder when BFG will realise and fix the "problem"...

Sure isn't a problem for me, though!

Well, back to it ... I still have some PCCs that I'll use today if I find any other SEs I want to get ...

Well, did I have fun yesterday!

I spent the day demoing games to see how much I could benefit from the extra punches.

I won't tell you what time I got to bed      and how little      I've had!

But I ended up doing really well, using up all my PCCs and a few CSCCs I had!

So, with the weekend sale, I used 4 GCCs plus the 2 extra US$1.99 to get 4 CEs (which, for me, when I convert back to US$, was a total of only US$25 instead of the usual US$32 - we Aussies get a brilliant conversion rate! paying only the equivalent of about US$5.48 per credit instead of the usual US$6.99). Then I used all my PCCs and some CSCCs I'd been saving up, as well as 3 of the new PCCs I got yesterday, to end up with:

4 CEs
13 SEs
6 PCCs (I initially got 8, then used 3 of those and got another 1)

which equates to 24 games for US$25 (including the SE I'll get with the 6 PCCs), or roughly $1 per game, including 4 CEs!

And I got some great games! Some brand spanking new ones, some oldies but goodies, including a few that I was replacing from when I lost all my games when Oberon went belly up.

There's one more game I wanted to get that I'd lost when Oberon ceased to exist - and never told me beforehand so I couldn't download all my games first, grrrrrr - but it would have possibly stuffed up my punches, so that'll wait until I next need to use a PCC. After all, it's not as if I don't have lots of other games to play while I wait, and I've already played it before ... a looooooooooooooong time ago!

But I had so much fun yesterday demoing all those games and working out which ones to get and working out the punch cards!

I wonder what games I'm going to get with all those PCCs ... I've still got games to demo ...

Pity about the game I'd planned on playing yesterday ...

And sorry about all the skiting ...

Yesterday and today I played and finished Dark Realm: Queen of Flames PE and I LOVED it!
