Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

Finished the bonus material from Phantasmat: Town of Lost Hope Collector's Edition.  Also finished Hidden Clues 2: Miami and started Hidden Clues: New York.

I finished Kronville: Stolen Dreams.  Well worth the 2.99 I paid for it.   The game alternated from the present  to the dream world and back again, so that kept it from getting boring.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I was playing Redemption Bitter Frost but I trashed it.  I found it very irritating to play.  At least half a dozen times despite trying to use the proper items, I checked, they would not work.  I kept having to exit out and restart and then the item would work, and this was before I finished the first chapter so into the garbage it went.

I started Grim Facade The Artist and the Pretender.  I like all the interesting facts about Leonardo Da Vinci. And I'm working on Nonograms Wolf Stories and I want to break out Gizmos Halloween.

I absolutely LOVED Kronville, Sun

GH put up 2 games today. One was Grim Facade The Artist and the Pretender, Oscar, which I'll start tomorrow and the other was Danse Macabre: Crimson Cabaret PE, which In played, finished and enjoyed today!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I finished Hidden Clues: New York.  The previous 2 games in this series consisted of 10 'cases' with 12 levels in each case.  This game has 12 cases with 10 levels in each case, and after you completed a case, there was a mini-game where you had to arrest the suspect.  Several of the boards in the last 2 cases were very difficult, took 30 minutes to finish each of them.

Going to play Sable Maze: Sullivan River Collector's Edition and Sable Maze: Soul Catcher Collector's Edition next..

I finally finished SLIDERS!  That's the abbreviated title of the most recent CLUTTER gasme.  I started it in May and played on and off.  3 puzzles wouldn't work for me (some sort of glitch) but I'm happy having completed 557/560 puzzles.  Definitely good value for the money.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

That was a lot of levels, Lily!!!!

I finished off Grim Facade: The Artist and The Pretender PE and really enjoyed it and then I played and finished Through Andrea’s Eyes, which was much better than I thought it was going to be.

Good to know FudgeChi.  Especially about the GRIM FACADE game.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

We finally got a week of beautiful summer weather!  Pity it's autumn...

So, as this summer consisted of freezing, wet weather, I had piles of washing piled up as nothing could be hung outside and I refuse to use the dryer whilst everything's so wet.  Hence this past week of beautiful sunny weather saw me doing nothing but washing, washing and yet more washing, and then collapsing in a heap.  I managed to get everything done except one huge basket of sheets and quilt covers.  I think I did at least 10 loads of washing!

I did manage to find the time, however, to play 1 game during my busy washing week, then another yesterday and another today now that the weather's back to its normal grey, cold, wet days.

Sable Maze: Sinister Knowledge CE

PROs:

+  Really creative, fun and challenging HOPs
  +  No contextual icon changes
+  No plus item indicators ... nothing!  Yippee!
+  LOVED the stunning graphics, which were crystal clear
        -  the animation was as crystal clear as the static scenes!
        -  the barely spinning wheels as a plane comes in to land in BG were amazing!
+  LOVED the music and ambient sounds
+  Collectibles - morphing puzzle pieces (6 puzzles = wallpapers) + coins (to buy statues)
+  Morphs not all that easy:
        -  you must be looking right at the morphs when they change to notice them
        -  they're not obvious objects, as in normal HOPAs
        -  they may just be one brick in a wall, or one small part of a vine, etc.
+  I got so involved in the game and the story that I forgot to look for collectibles (also CON)
  +  Fairly long ... MG = nearly 5 hours ... BG = nearly 1 hour

CONs:

  -  BG too short - good but too short for a CE
  -  BBTs give TMI, eg. "I have to find some twine."
  -  You can't go back to find any collectibles you missed
       -  I missed some puzzle pieces and tough, I couldn't finish the puzzles
       -  the statues you buy are just that - statues with no extra info, etc.

Recommendation  -  SE  -  but I'm not sorry I got the CE and it's a game I will definitely play again!

  +  Really fun game
  +  Absolutely amazing, stunning graphics
  +  Collectibles not too easy
+  Challenging HOPs (and a couple of MGs) and fun!

  -  BG a prequel and, although good, too short for a CE at under an hour
  -  Can't go back to get any missing collectibles
  -  BBTs - TMI (but not super bad)
  -  Not v. challenging, especially some really easy MGs
  -  No replay of HOPs and MGs, and they're great!
  -  Tome mazes in extras okay but only 6 and too easy

NB

  -  you have to have HOP penalty to get 2 of the achievements
  -  you have to set Skip to max to get 1 achievement

HOPs:

  -  some were HARD!
  -  all were very creative and fun!
  -  variety
       -  telling you what to do (like a step-by-step inventory puzzle but with highlighted words)
       -  FRAGs
       -  progressive silhouettes
  -  some were repeated but with a different type of HOP
       -  sometimes you only stumble across the second play, which I hate in HOPs
  -  even just an interactive list - each item has to be used somewhere to achieve something
  -  they're all like inventory puzzles

MGs:

  -  some are super easy, some are challenging (eg. all the many different slider puzzles)
  -  some very creative - others frustrating (slider puzzles)
  -  all are fun, even the easy and slider ones!

I loved the creativity and it's so much fun!

ETA:  Oops, I got the name mixed up with another game!  But it's really late.  So that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!
