I've just received yet another beta!
This time it's the next Hidden Expedition game. But I've only just played the latest one, which was only released 12 days ago! I loved it! Really, really challenging without BBTs or cursor changes and some really challenging MGs (I cheated with the SG with 2 of them), and both the MG and BG were long! I just hope this latest one is just as good!
But now I've received 8 betas in 15 days, which is more than 1 every 2 days!
But first, back to Strange Discoveries - Aurora Peak PE! I remember agonising about this game when it was first released - to CE or not to CE. I loved the demo but just couldn't justify the CE as I think, if I remember correctly, the BG was really short. But, ever since GH started releasing BFG's CEs, I've been hoping that this one was released soon, and have been eagerly awaiting ever since it was listed on their Coming Soon list. And it's everything I'd hoped and more!
But I'd also really been looking forward to 2 other games on GH's Coming Soon list, and both were also released today. But what disappointments! A Jewel game - Jewel Story - that didn't thrill me too much but, much more importantly, another Apothecarium game, Apothecarium World! I've been watching out for that one for months as Apothecarium was on my fav games list. But all it is is a straight HOS game, like the FTP games, with junkpiles in each scene from the original game, with 5 gold coins to get for each scene. However, the age of the graphics really shows as they're only 2D and blurry, and the objects are all so small and blurry that I couldn't find half of them and kept on losing, and I never got past 1 gold coin in the very first scene! Needless to say I won't be playing any more of that game, or of the Jewel game.

Yesterday I played the latest PuppetShow ... didn't we just get one? ... but I haven't filled out the survey yet.
Last PuppetShow was released in January.

I finished Tesla's Tower: The Wardenclyffe Mystery. You play Tesla's granddaughter and Tesla is a projection that talks to you and together you solve the mystery of what happened when Tesla's experiment went wrong back in the late 19th century and now the world you live in has no color or music. I like this one better than I thought I would. It does have a lot of dialogue between the two Tesla's especially in the beginning, but that dies out as you play along.
I started on Black Swan. So far no problems playing it and I hope I can finish it with no tech problems.
I would love to get The ABC Murders game. I have read the book many times. Are Hastings & Japp in the game too? That would make a big difference to me if they weren't included also.
Stusue...I too think David Suchet makes the best Poirot.

I bought Agatha Christie ASAP . I have been waiting for it. I had it on my wishlist on both Steam and GOG. I have done a demo and liked it very much. It ran smoth on my laptop. I didn't believe GameHouse could get it this fast. When I saw it on the Coming soon list, I thought it was another game...
I'm playing Rite of Passage: Hide & Seek CE, but I can't get into it so it's a couple of minutes and then I leave it.

I finished Dark Angles: Masquerade of Shadows today and REALLY enjoyed it.
I tried the Agatha Christie again but nope, so slow and jerky Took 15 minutes to get through the opening video. Maybe it's because I use Virtual Windows. After the opening, my cursor just wouldn't go to where i wanted it too. Shame Maybe it will come out for Mac and I will be able to run it there instead...though that is wishful thinking!

Fudge, it already is available for Mac.
You can download it and it's also available at places like Amazon on disc. Here's the link for the Home Page for the game so you can check it out and check out how to purchase it, if you want it now. But I imagine it'll get to BFG at some point.
Have fun!

I've just finished Strange Discoveries - Aurora Peak PE and loved it!
You can tell it's an older game but touch worked perfectly.
And it had fun and challenging HOPs and MGs.
It was also nice and long ... MG = 4:30-5:30 hours and BG = 1:30 hours.
Now I'm kinda bummed that I didn't get the CE as it's got some great MGs to replay!
But I had as much fun as I thought I would.
I really liked the story, music, sounds, graphics... everything really.
Except you can't replay all the great progressive silhouette HOPs in the extras!
Only the interactive list ones that you play twice.
But they're also challenging and fun so it's not so bad.
But there are some great MGs!

For all GameHouse players who haven't already worked this out ...
I've just discovered what that little heart icon is on the game pages!
.
Select games you want to save for later!
- On all game pages, there is a heart icon. Select this heart so the game will be added to your My Favorite Games list.
- This way if you come across lots of games you want to try, but can't download them all at once, they will be saved in this list so you can come back later and try them out!
- Once you've played them, you can remove them from your list also.
How handy is that?
I've wondered what the My Favorite Games list was ever since I first saw it!
And now I know!

Thanks, stusue I had a look but it's pretty expensive and I need to be able to try it first in case it's as bad on my Mac part as on my Windows part.
Thanks for the heart icon tip on GH too, I hadn't even noticed it! It's really useful because I can add a couple of games so I know where I am up to in the alphabet.
Now finished Dark Lore Mysteries: The Hunt for Truth and Dark Sisterhood: The Initiation. Neither game was anything special but playable at least.

I'm trying Jewel Story M3 right now. I really don't know what to make of it. To start with, there's no "Player" option so only one player at a time. No easy, relaxed, timed, etc. It's not a regular M3. Part of it was the group type of matching and you have to make a match over all the special tiles. In a limited amount of moves. And I mean limited. I've had to replay quite a few boards already. If your group is 5 (I think) or more you get a bonus ..somewhere.. on the board. But the bonus has to touch something of the same color to use it... I think. I also played a board where you had to get rid of tiles by matching next to them... in a limited amount of moves... very limited. There's also gold and stars involved in your score, I don't know why, maybe to buy more bonuses. There might have been a different type of board, too, I don't remember. I don't really like the game so far but it is challenging so I will stick with it for awhile and see how it goes. I've really been getting into the limited move thing lately so maybe it will grow on me. I'm M3 addicted right now anyway, so...
ETA: Now I'm into boards where you have to click a group next to stones and also groups that are on tiles, if you get what I mean. The scoring is messed up, I think what is happening is that after you finish a board the game automatically makes matches for every move you have left and adds it to your score. Sometimes I finish with lots of moves left but only get 1 star! You get 50 pts per item so you only get 100 points for a two square group and 250 for a five square group. I really don't like the scoring system.
I haven't watch the TV shows, just read the books of Agatha and that was about 40 years ago. I do seem to remember the ABC Murder plot I think, wasn't the killer related to one of the first murders and then did the ABC thing to divert suspicion? I'm thinking either A or B did it, probably A. 40 years ago. So why can't I remember where I left my glasses earlier today?
I want to play Aurora Peak but it's around a gig so I'm still hoping for next week. I really need to delete some games that I've already played but with GH you have to go looking for them instead of just using that handy trash button in the GM.
