Lucky you can cancel it. I don't seem to have that option and I had to actually turn off auto updates. I'm going to update my laptop and try it out and see how QuickBooks works with it. I don't think I want it on my desktop though in case older games stop working.

I turned off auto updates as well when I received a pop-up that told me I was scheduled for the update to Win 10. Was afraid that MS would reschedule me when I wasn't using my PC and I'd wake up one morning with a fait accompli.
I've got happy news. I went to the dentist today and had the last of the silver fillings removed and the toth prepped for a crown. One more visit on June 28th, and I'm done.

I sent a help ticket to BFG CS for a game I'm stuck on. The automated email that was sent to me now says if it regards any of the following games (they all look like F2Ps) include your game ID for a faster resolution. Interesting!
Tirama -- That is good news!
Since I only have Vista I don't have to worry about Win 10 yet.

I had to do a lot of clicking around to where I finally found something that said cancel the scheduled update.
tirama...Good news on the teeth.

I know I mentioned I turned off the auto update to avoid 10 being installed but last night I turned my computer off and was quite surprised to walk back by to the blue screen downloading a bunch of updates! I could even stop them. The only plus is 10 didn't get installed, but how did this happen when it still is set to allow me to choose to install. And right now if I check it says Windows 10 is ready to install once you restart your computer. Talk about pushy. I feel like they are controlling my computer.

That's odd, Oscar. Have you checked in your control panel - system & security - view install updates to see what other stuff your computer has d/l in the past and when. Windows10 is pushy.

I'm at the next spot now, where there's a hotspot. My TMobile phone doesn't make or receive calls or send texts but I've received 3 texts. The hotspot is for Brighthouse, TWC, Optimum, and Infinity, I have Verizon. So out of sheer desperation I clicked on the Brighthouse and it logged me in automatically! Haven't been a customer for 11 months, how weird is that? I've searched the internet to try to find out how to find out what my password for it is but nothing works, maybe because it's a hotspot, I don't know. So I have computer but nothing else. I think I can get a headphone that works on the computer, can't I? Then I could use Google Hangouts

We had an interesting Sunday. A water pipe located under a neighbor's driveway was leaking and had to be repaired. There were at least 6 trucks from the water company crowded into our narrow street. Luckily for the rest on the neighborhood the driveway was made of brick pavers which could be picked up, and not concrete or asphalt, so no jack hammering at 8 AM. And only the 1 house was affected, so we didn't have the water shut off and won't have to boil water after the repair is completed.
We've been having a lot of electrical storms. Tiffany has spent time in her carriage just about every day since the beginning of May. A storm earlier in the week knocked out my father-in-law's modem, so DH spent some time yesterday waiting for the phone company to check things out (f-i-l transferred from hospital to rehab center) and will spend more time late this afternoon-evening doing the same.

Tirama -- I'm glad it was only a leaking pipe and no water disruption for the rest of you. SIX trucks?? Seems a bit excessive!
Awww poor Tiffany! Does she feel more secure in her carriage?

One of the trucks carried the back hoe. That pipe was down deep!
Yes, Tiffany feels safer in her carriage. Our house is built on a concrete slab, and I think when she lies on the floor, she can feel the vibrations from the thunder more than if she's in her carriage or curled up in an easy chair. If the lightning strikes close enough, the entire house shakes.
