I'd love to see a pic of your babies, Tee. Lots of Chihuahuas on this forum what with my 2 and Wendy's. What are their names? Mine are Fudge and Snoozle. They make me laugh every single day
Yes, you do need to enjoy your retirement and play games and live simply. That's just what I'm doing.

Thanks all, for the hugs and kind words. They mean a lot. I know we all have trials and tribulations but sometimes, when it just keeps coming, you start feeling overwhelmed. I want to enjoy my retirement, play my games, and live simply.
This really resonates with me. We're the sandwich generation. Our children have taken longer to get themselves together, and our parents have lived longer. We wonder if the time will ever come when we can put ourselves first.

So sorry to hear what you have been going through, teeitup. Stay strong and I hope those Al-Anon meetings do some good for you.

For my New Year's resolution I wanted to make healthier changes in my food. The first one was easy...It was no more microwave popcorn. I didn't like the way the artificial butter coated my tongue while eating it. It felt gross. So now I pop my own with my hot air popper and use 1 tsp of real melted butter on top.
The second one took much longer. I decided to not eat any foods with HFCS in them. I finally got rid of all the foods and condiments with that stuff in them and found replacements for them. I debated with myself to not even bother, but decided If I was going to eat foods with sugar in them I would eat the real stuff and not HFCS which was man made in some laboratory. Foods that are not even sugary have HFCS in them like crackers, ketchup and pickles, so it took a little while to weed out everything and find their replacement. I also don't like using artificial sugar for the same reason. It was man made in a laboratory. I guess I am getting pickier about what I eat as I am getting older. Anyone else feel like that?

I try to eat healthier too, but I can't always do it. I definitely try to avoid HFCS. I don't eat much red meat. I don't patronize fast food joints. One of my biggest problems is getting enough fruits and vegetables. I think they recommend 5 servings a day. One thing I do with my popcorn (air popped, of course) is use a little bit of grated pecorino romano cheese on it. I rarely put butter on.

Just got back from Texas after seeing my Rangers play last night. It was a beautiful night, great seats, tied twice during the game and headed into the bottom of the night when our guy almost hit a home run. It hit the wall which gave our player on base time to get home and we won 6-5. Went to pick up my doggies who I had boarded over night and had groomed and omg, they were cut really short but still cute as ever. I took a pic on my iPad so I could upload to photobucket and post here. Bailey is on the left and Baxter is on the right.

Awwwww, your boys are just gorgeous, Tee. I think my girls are in love!
I don't eat healthily. I only eat once a day at night but at least we don't really do popcorn here!

They are so cute!
(I have a NordicWare popper which is great)

teeitup...your pups are really cute and sitting there so well for you to take their picture.
lilyr...I might have to try your grated cheese idea on popcorn. Sounds good to me.
fudge...No popcorn! I am eating more popcorn now to try to curb my obsession with Lay's wavy lightly salted potato chips. I love those potato chips just a little too much.
Oscar...Hmm, I never heard of those so I looked them up on ebay. Those would work also for me. It was just the bags and artificial butter that I didn't like with microwave popcorn.

What is it with windows10 being forced upon you. If I wanted it I would have downloaded it myself. First it was my laptop...I turned it on and it had win10 on it. I tried it out for a day and decided I like win8.1 on it better so went back. Then it was my desktop...1 morning it had win10 on it and I immediately went back to my old windows. That is my gaming computer I like it the way it is. Thank you very much. Now my work computer had a pop up saying it was going to change to win10 in 30 minutes. I click the cancel button pretty quick. I am so tired of windows10 hounding me to change with their sneaky installations and their constant pop-ups.
