Ouch is right! I hope that is healing well Sun.
Enjoy your season Wendy, I hope it's a profitable one for you in every way.

Well I do not have a 100% diagnosis on Tank, but the news is not good and it looks like it is in all probability lung cancer. He was on one antibiotic and anti fungal while we awaited tests, which seemed to take for ever. His xrays show a mass pushing his heart to one side and his lung cloudy. His tests came back fine with the exception of a staph infection. So switched antibiotics as he wasn't eating much and went back on Saturday to do xrays again. The mass had increased in size by 12 cm. He'd lost 4lbs as well and his fever was a little higher. So he got a shot for that hoping to bring it down, changed antibiotics and sent his xrays off for a second opinion. I don't want him to go thru any unnecessary stuff if the prognosis is not good. The next step would be an ultrasound biopsy if they felt it was something other than a tumor. HIs lung was also cloudier. I did get a recipe for doggie stew (which I would eat if I liked veggies). It was quite tasty, just gr beef and vegetables, broth etc. He is eating like a champ again. She was talking about putting him on prednisone but I remember how shitty it made Winston feel. So for now antibiotics, Tylenol and we wait.

Oscar, I'm so sorry, I'm praying the second opinion is optimistic. It's just way too soon after Winston.
Got into it with the neighbor this morning. Our landlord owns the building next to us, it's on the main drag, we're right behind it on the side street. It has a pizza parlor and a bar in it with 2 apartments above. There is no parking lot for the business/apartments. The landlord fenced off part of our yard, on the other side he made a small parking area for the use of the people in the apartments (even though it's technically our yard). There's a gate in our back yard for access so if the neighbors park there instead of the side street they walk through our yard. We don't care for the neighbors and it really sucks paying so much money for rent and having people tramp through your yard and store their garbage cans there. The latch on the gate is not very good and it's hard to latch from the car side and if there's a strong wind it tends to blow open. But the neighbors leave it open on purpose. I came around back with the dogs this morning and the gate was wide open and the woman was just getting in the car, and they started backing up to leave. I stood in the yard and made that hand gesture that means "What the hell?" and they saw me and knew I'd seen them so they stopped the car and she got out and came over to close the gate, but clearly only because they knew they'd been seen. Then we got into it. Her... "Well, the wind blows the gate open" Me... "I understand that happens but this time it wasn't the wind, you just didn't shut the gate." Her... "Well, if the wind blows it open you walk over and shut it so what's the difference, just walk over and shut it" Me... "The difference is that the wind didn't blow it open, you were just too lazy to latch it." Her... "Well, there's always dog poop all over, you guys never clean up" I have to admit I went a little crazy right then, lol. I have cleaned up way more than my share of poop this winter. And if they don't like it they can quit walking through our yard. I grabbed my bucket of poop and shoved it under her nose... "What the hell do you call this then? The only reason there's poop around is that you leave the gate open and other dogs come in." I tell you, I was waving that poop bucket all over the place. It was crazy. Then her guy got into it and my guy got into it...just yelling but everybody really wanted to swing on everybody else. Cra-cra. Then later me and hubby got into it, he's actually a good driver but he has a constant case of road rage and scares me to death. Three of the last four times I've ridden with him I've gotten out of the car because I was frightened. My parents and I were in a really bad car accident when I was 5, they both came close to dying and I've been so scared of dying in an auto accident ever since. I think it's my biggest fear, except like spiders and snakes, you know. And then after that girl roomie came home, she's been gone with the kid to her mom's since Friday. She gives me the third degree about what the guys been doing, like she always does. But it's alright for her to take off for days and days, who knows if she's really at her mom's, she's done plenty of running around, hubby says. Anyway, he's going somewhere so she has him do grocery shopping, he can't manage to find the frozen onion/pepper mix for some reason and she's cussing him out on the phone. We've got onions and a red pepper, I told her to tell him to just get a green pepper and we'd be good but she told him to go get the presliced in the produce department. When he finally gets home she's still screaming obscenities at him, he tells her there wasn't hardly anything left on the food stamp card and he starts screaming at her that she bought hundreds of dollars of groceries for her mother. She probably did, her mother is a money grubbing good for nothing piece of dog doo-doo. She's always over here, "Buy me some cigarettes, let me have this or that out of the fridge, you're on food stamps." Girl tells guy that she spent it on food for the baby. Ha, what a laugh. Only if they take EBT at Burger King or the pizza joint. So he stormed out I think and her mom came and got her and the baby, I think ( I was hiding in basement, lol). After it quieted down I came up and found some stuff for the fridge still on the table, along with the receipt. As I put it away I look at the receipt and the guy had bought 2 packs of a fresh cut up pepper onion mix. They were $5.99 each!!!!!!!!!! $12 for what amounted to one onion, one green pepper and one red pepper. I don't ever want to hear that a carnival game is a rip off. We had to use EBT for the last couple of years, it ran out in November, we had a bit more money so we didn't reapply, we've been using our own money again. I've always been a frugal shopper, I stock up when it's on sale and don't buy anything that's expensive. I always treated the food stamps as money because they are. And it really pisses me off to see how this couple uses theirs. All extra money is used for fast food and then they blow the food stamps on convenience store candy and soda. Why buy a 2 liter of soda on sale for a buck at the grocery store when you can spend 2 bucks for 20 ozs at the Quickie Mart? I don't like people telling people on EBT what they should or can buy. I always felt if I wanted to use them for 5 days of ramen noodles so I could indulge in a steak the 6th day, that was my business and I should be able to do what I wanted but these people are so totally wasteful. She keeps buying eggplants, two at a time, and throwing them away after they rot. Two bags of expensive lettuce got thrown away last week but she bought a salad at the fast food place. Food just sits in the fridge and rots. She buys weird, exotic stuff that she's the only one who will eat it and then doesn't eat it.
They went out the other night, he got spaghetti and she got a large pepperoni and olive pizza.... but she's the only one who eats olives so almost all of it ended up in the garbage. She gets this crappy Dominos chicken bacon ranch thin crust pizza, it's like tasteless cardboard and there's hardly anything there. It costs $18.65 and only a couple pieces get eaten cause nobody else much likes it, and there it goes in the trash again. It's their money, their food stamps so I don't say anything but sometimes I just need to vent. Sorry

I'm so sorry to read this, Oscar. I hope the 2nd opinion has better news and it's not cancer. The stew sounds yummy!
Yes, yikes Wendy! Very annoying that they walk through your yard. And that roomie wastes a lot of food. I hate to see good food wasted.

On the road again. It's hard leaving but once I'm outta there I'm alright. Didn't think I was gonna get outta there for awhile. I needed a part replaced in my engine but another part was stuck on it, the guys ended up breaking it off, then they used a hose with clamps to replace the missing part but before I got out of town the hose melted. They ended up capping the line off, and I got here with no trouble the rest of the way. I was scared they would have put the carnival games in line today and I would get stuck on the end cause I was late but it was rainy so they only worked on rides, because those have to pass inspection. It makes a big difference in your gross when you're on the end and this spot is for 2 weeks instead of the normal 1 week so I didn't want to lose my good location. Of course nothing is guaranteed and they could still stick me on the end.

I really hope you get your good location, Wendy.
Any news about Tank, Oscar?

I'd like to know how Tank is too.

Well I am sorry to say he does have lung cancer. A large mass along with a lot of patterning and cloudiness in the right lung. The lymph node there is involved as well. I'm just going to keep him happy and as pain free as possible for however long I have him. I had his xrays looked at for a second opinion and heard back on Monday. I discussed everything with my vet as I really don't want to put him thru the stress of any further biopsy, CAT scans or surgeries for something that is not going to have a good ending. Thank you for thinking of us.
