Re: The Chat Lounge

Don't you think it's awfully stupid of someone...say a husband... to keep yelling at and insulting someone...say their wife...and then demand that person make them coffee?  Don't you think maybe the person you're abusing will maybe put nasty things into your coffee grounds?  That's what I would think would happen.

Re: The Chat Lounge

I don't know how you cope, Wendy. I know I couldn't. I HATE dirty dishes in the sink, YUK!
As for that poor, poor kid.....

Re: The Chat Lounge

Are you planning on doing away with someone Wendy?  Sounds like carnival season can't come quick enough for you.

Hopefully the little boy gets some descent grub at daycare. In the end you could always phone Social Services on the sly if you feel he is not being looked after properly.

Fudge/Tirama - great line from Larry Lamb in New Tricks, the last episodes.  Does it seem like everyone involved in this case so far is an asshole?  I was sad to realize it was the last episode.  But on the plus side if they start to air the old ones, I've only seen since a few eps before Jerry left.

Re: The Chat Lounge

I feel sorry for the poor little kid too.  Toddlers need calcium to make their bones strong.  How do you get strong bones with juice?  Is it at least 100% juice?   My granddaughter is 3 now and didn't like to eat much when she was 2, but she absolutely loved her milk also cheese and yogurt and hard boiled eggs.  Plenty of calcium and protein since she wouldn't eat meat.

wendy...Maybe just throw out the sponge when nobody looking or tell them the dogs got to it and chewed it up.   Force them to replace it.  Sponges are gross anyways, germy filled things. Yuck.

I haven't seen any episodes from the last season. Nexflix runs one season behind.  I own all the other seasons.  I buy region code 2 from Amazon.co.uk and watch them on my laptop.

Just checked the exchange rate and it's tolerable so I guess I'll order them today.

Right now I'm watching the first season of Waking the Dead.  Unfortunately, it's the only season available from Netflix.  After I finish that, I'll get caught up with Downton Abbey.

Re: The Chat Lounge

It was a great line, oscar!!!!! I hope you get the ones before Jerry left. They are brilliant too.

Good idea, sunshine, throw out that sponge, it will be full of germs!

No not do away with.  Spit on the other hand....
With the kid, he gets treated decently enough other than the juice overload/food underload so hopefully as he gets older he will want to eat more real food, of course it's always fast food, but at least it's on offer.  And tonight she made mac and cheese and baked beans and muttered something about doing the dishes, even though they haven't been done yet.  And there's some sort of shake she make with kale, spinach, and maybe yogurt? that's been sitting in the expensive blender jar for probably 10 days now.  I'd like to use the blender but no way I'm opening that lid
It's hard being a first time parent, most of them seem to do whatever the little one wants, they fear making them cry, scared the child won't love them if they're disciplined, don't ever want to say "No".  I understand how they feel, I just don't think I would feel that way myself.  I would have been the army drill sergeant type of mother, lol.  You can really see the different parenting styles when people bring their kids up to play a carnival game and the families that have the most fun are the disciplined ones, they don't act like spoiled brats, they're gracious about whatever they win and often give their prize to someone else.  You do love to see the spoiled brats coming, though, and weekend dads will often throw money around like sailors in port.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Been a while since I've posted but have been lurking, trying to keep up with what's going on.  Two weeks post surgery and things are going pretty good.  Had doctor's visit today to get sutures out and got a little scolding as one had popped loose on Sunday and the healing in that area is a little behind.  Been lifting and reaching too much so need to be a little more careful.  I mentioned to the anesthesiologist in pre-admin testing that hydrocodone makes me sick and was fine while I was in the hospital but when I went to pick up my meds for pain on the way home, my doctor had prescribed it with nausea meds and sure enough, by Wed. I was feeling sick.  Problem with my insurance re the nausea meds so just said to heck with it and started taking Extra Strength Tylenol and that's been working very well ~ not much pain unless I overdo it, of course.

Sorry to hear you have been under the weather, Wendy.  You're right about the kiddo bringing home stuff from the daycare, one of my boys would catch something and in a week or so, the other one would get it.  That's so sad about the way they are raising him, poor little guy and yuck on the kitchen cleanliness, gotta believe there is a lot of nasty bacteria and germs floating around there.

Have been playing my games but decided to get back into my cross-stitch, too as I have a project I want to get finished for my best friend.  Been looking through some of my X-stitch forums on FB and got the urge again.  Bought me a floor stand to hold my project while I stitch and it has made a big difference in how I stitch.  I've been catching up on some of my DVR shows and have been taking note of what you guys are watching on Netflix so plan on watching some of those while I work on the project.  I started Downton Abbey on Amazon Prime but have forgotten it so going to restart from the beginning.

Re: The Chat Lounge

teeitup -- I'mm glad to see this post.  I remembered that your surgery was in February.  I started praying that all would go well when you first posted.  Aside from the popped stitch things seem okay.  I'm glad the extra strength tylenol is working for you.
