Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I like both those series.  GameHouse just came out with the CE of The Noise She Couldn't Make and wouldn't you know, it's the only one of the series I have in CE.  I think that's the last one I've played.  I'm almost done with 9 Clues 2 The Ward.  I like this series, too, it's pretty logical with the actions, although I always have to laugh when they use the 9 clues to explain the scenario.  I'm trying to play the new releases from GH first, so I think Dark Dimensions City of Ash is next on my list... probably.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

Hello Fudgechi...Nice to meet you.

I guess I am like Meg right now with plenty of games started and I am working on them.

Game Manager had a update for Fear for Sale: 13 Keys, so after I updated it I started to play it.

Working on Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper...Had a terrible time knowing what to do with looking for clues on the first victim  Polly Nichols. Had a hard time with the deduction board because I didn't know you had to have Holmes & Watson reenact the crime.  I put the walkthrough on my tablet and kept referring to it just to help me through this part.  Game is good, but you can tell it is older than the The Testament of Sherlock Holmes and the voice acting is not as good.  I think Holmes was voiced by a different man in this one and I much prefer the other guy.

Trying something way different with Alice: Madness Returns...It is a platform game and you also do battle scenes.  Right now I am trying to beat the bolt flies.  Flying objects made out of bolts.  Very weird, but kinda fun.

Awakening Kingdom...In the sunshinej game I just started the Gizmotek Festival Event and in the jasminej game I am waiting for Yura's quest to begin.  I don't know what the trigger is to start it.

Have you received the quest from the Mayor to visit the Atrium and check on Leena?  Following that quest line triggers the Yura Festival quests.  But before you start the festival, be sure you've done the map quest series that unlock the Treasure Vault.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

Hi sunshine, thank you

I'd never heard of GameHouse, I must check it out. Is it cheaper than BFG?

I loved most of the Surface ones but The Pantheon was a disappointment

Now I'm playing Phantasmat: The Endless Night

GameHouse is possibly cheaper than BF, but they don't have the stable of developers that BF does.  Paul Thelen, THE Big Fish, worked for RealArcade, which merged with GameHouse, before he started Big Fish.  There's was bad blood between the two companies, and it's only since Churchill Downs bought out BF, that both companies have begun allowing some of 'their' developer's games to appear on the other site.

I didn't care for The Pantheon, either, and I disliked the next game in the series, Reel Life, even more.  Bought the next one, Game of Gods, but haven't played it yet.  (You'll hear that phrase a lot from most of us).

I have played Phantasmat: The Endless Night, liked that one.

I've finished 6 of the 8 chapters of Dark Parables: Queen of Sands Collector's Edition.  Not liking the storyline very much (Rapunzel just made a cameo appearance), but some of the puzzles are new to me, and I like the fragmented hidden object scenes.   Want to finish this game and the next in the series before ART begins the Valentine Day event.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

January was, as usual, another dismal month for me.  I didn't finish anything new.  I am winding down in CLUTTER V but still have a good number of games to play.  Just for something to do I D/L'd MCF: HUNTSVILLE (the first MCF game.  I'd forgotten it was timed!  I must be slowing down.  I had to replay some of the investigations because I ran out of time.  I do remember that the very las one was tough because it had a very short time limit.  I finally finished it.

On a happier note, the only charge from BFG in January was for my GCC!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I found this video which you may find interesting.

The speaker is the CEO of Eipix.  At the beginning, he gives a short history of the company, but most of the video is about what's involved in making a free-to-play game.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I paid for a yearly Funpass at Gamehouse for $69 on sale, usually $99.  You can get monthly for $9.99.  You can play pretty much any of their library of games, even CEs, and you also get a monthly credit to buy a game.  That game is yours to keep, even when/if you quit Funpass.  There are a few games they get before BFG, and lots of BFG exclusives that they never get.  The last couple months they've been releasing some older BFG games that they've never had access to before.
I guess I finished 9 Clues so I'm starting on Dark Dimensions City of Ash.  It has a nice wallpaper with a volcano in the background that I put on right away.

Thanks Tirama.  I did find it interesting.  $100 million to create a Match 3 game?  24 HOPAs released in one year? Yikes!

I think he might have been joking about the $100 million, or maybe was referring to how much he hoped the game would earn.  Even HOPAs never had that kind of budget.  I counted 23 Eipix HOPAs last year.  Close enough.
