I just want it to stop snowing!
It's what I call salt snow as it's so fine the flakes are no larger than grains of salt. It gets everywhere! But, because it's so fine, it's taking ages to build up. So it doesn't look like there's much snow but it's as hard as ice ... and as slippery! Yesterday, from midnight until the 6 pm news, there were 80 car accidents here in Oldenburg!!!!
And I had to shovel the foot-/bikepath today! I didn't shovel the entire path like I normally would as, as I said, the snow is as hard as solid ice. Furtunately, given that I couldn't shovel the ice yesterday, I just threw some salt down the entire path and hoped the bikes going past would melt the snow. Well, they didn't melt the snow as it's so cold but they did slush it up a bit. So, when I tried to shovel this morning, I could shovel - albeit with increasing difficulty as my arms were getting so tired and achy and I could hardly move them by the time I was halfway through! - all the snow where I'd put down the salt yesterday. It was still hard and icy but I could at least move it. However, my path is the only one in the entire street that's clear! Some others managed to shovel the fresh snow from the top of the ice and a couple managed a tiny path with some salt, but mine's the only one where the bikes can actually safely go. But of course none of them will be fined like I was the one day I didn't shovel when I was too sick to do it and no one else had done it, either! Grrrrrr......
But schools aren't back until Thursday (if they don't have a snow day as it's so dangerous out and about atm) and there's hardly anyone out on their bikes. I had to go to the doc's this morning and I bussed it and then had a terrible time walking to the doc's from the bus stop along the back roads that hadn't been cleared. The sand truck just keeps on going up and down at least 3 times a day but hasn't been around since dinnertime and now the road's all white again and the cars and buses are going really, really slowly again.
At least now I don't have to go out again until this cold snap - it's coming down to us direct from Siberia! - is over and the temps are back up to just over freezing. I think it may be a public holiday tomorrow as I have heaps of orders from Amazon coming and some came today, then on Thursday and Friday and Saturday - none tomorrow. So tomorrow I'm not going to worry about getting my path cleared before 7 am - which is legally when we're supposed to have our paths cleared - but just whenever I get up and after I've had brekkie. Then I'll try and find out if the schools are going back on Thursday to see if I have to get up early and in the pitch dark to clear it before they all go to school.
Well, bed time for me.
But then I've gotta get out of these nice warm clothes and into my jammies!
Which reminds me, I'd better go and put my little footsie electric blanket on so it can warm up the bottom of my bed before I hit the sack!

well marry Christmas to me
this images show you what we in Serbia must have on table this evening. Branches of the oak tree is very important because when tomorrow the first person who enter the house must burned that branch and wish much health and happiness to the homeowners... I make bread similar to image from above, and in it I put a few coins and the grains- money presents money, different grain present health, happiness, prosperity in business ... and everything nice ...than everybody take a piece of that bread, and who gets what- that will have the whole year ... and many fine traditions for Christmas for house and family we are going to do. Our Christmas is not commercial and does not need a lot of money to make it special. Christmas tree, decoration and gifts we buy for the new year. And I'm sorry because I can't put pictures from my house- for you to see them I can not transfer images from a folder in pc on this page. I will ask my son for help- and I hope for Easter you will see how I decorate eggs with leaves.

Merry Christmas, Mila, to you and your family
It looks like a bread bouquet, with roses in the middle. I love knowing random people from around the world and learning new things.

Merry Christmas Mila
Thanks stusue & lilyr for the well wishes on my finger.
lilyr...No, the doctor didn't do a culture on the infection. When he told me he was going to give me another antibiotic I just about groaned and told him I didn't want to take it. He asked me why and I told him that they make me itchy, Always on the second or third day I feel very itchy and just generally feel lousy until all the pills are gone, but commit myself to take all the pills since I start them. Doesn't seem to matter what type of antibiotic since I have had several different ones. Weird, huh?

A few days ago, Monday or Tuesday, I was walking the three small dogs. I only walked a block up the street, then I planned to cross it and come back on the other side. As I was waiting to cross, one of the dogs pooped and I bent down with my bag to pick it up. I was facing the main street and the side street was in back of me. All of a sudden a lady turned the corner in her car and started honking and pointing behind me, down the side street. I turned around and there was a big pit bull coming towards us, loose, no owner anywhere around. I let the poop sit there and hustled the dogs back towards home. I was scared to go too fast, in case it triggered a chase instinct in the dog. Thankfully the lady kept driving her car in between me and the pitbull several times and seemed to discourage it because it didn't keep coming after us. I was scared, I had three dogs, all less than knee high and I don't know what I would have done. Last night I was looking through FB and the local police had a report about a pitbull that attacked and killed a papillion being walked by it's owner, and it sounded just like the one I encountered. Me and my dogs are soooo lucky that lady came by right then and took action. The report had an update that the owners brought the pitbull in and it's not getting euthanized because it was a first offense. I don't know how I feel about that, I hate the idea of killing dogs, but that could have so easily been me and my dogs.

Sounds scary, Wendy. You could have ended up with a dead dog. Once a dog has a taste for attacking other dogs or people, I don't see how they could be trusted anymore. I find Pit Bulls scary along with Dobermans.

Merry Christmas Mila.
I'm glad that ended the way it did Wendy with you all safely home. Pit bulls are banned in Canada.

I can't believe Christmas was two weeks ago!
