Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I wrote to GH CS about it and got a reply similar to yours, StuSue, but I've found a solution that kind of works.  I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade the laptop to Windows10 and I found lists of games that do and don't work on Win10, so I figure between the two lists, that will be most of their games.  I can't link to the game directly but at least I know they have it and can find it with search.   BTW, I got a reply from GH within a few hours.

Wendy, I'm glad you've got it all sorted out.

And I agree, I imagine that between those 2 lists all their games must be there, considering all games must either work or not work on Windows 10.  But did you notice that at the bottom of the list of games that don't work on Windows 10 and never will because the developers have said that they can't fix the problem, the last game listed is Wendy's Wellness.

I have Windows 10 on my laptop (it's got a touchscreen so I definitely wanted it) but only Windows 7 on my PC (it doesn't have a touchscreen so it doesn't bother me) so that I can play older games.  Now I just have to get my PC fixed ...

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I only have 20 more levels of Frozen Patchworks to complete.  I like this game so much better than the Halloween Patchwork game.  It's not as difficult and the pictures are pretty and more colorful.

Finished the main game of Christmas Stories: Hans Christian Andersen's Tin Soldier Collector's Edition.  Hope to finish the bonus chapter and other extras tomorrow.

In the free to play games, the ART Christmas event is over (43 days before the Valentine event begins).  Got all the achievements, so I'm happy.  MC's Christmas event is still in progress.  In game #1, I earned all the Christmas achievements, in game #2, I'm going to have t wait until next year for one of them.  I'm praying that they do NOT have a Valentine Day event.  We need some time to work on the regular daily quests.

In January, I want to finish Mystery Trackers: Raincliff's Phantoms Collector's Edition,  Mystery Trackers: Blackrow's Secret Collector's Edition, Mystery Trackers: Nightsville Horror Collector's Edition, and Mystery Trackers: Winterpoint Tragedy Collector's Edition.  I've already downloaded the first one.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I'm still plugging away at The Last Dream and Laruaville 4.  Laruaville is still hard.  I'm getting better at it, but there's a lot of things you have to do for each board and it gets complicated.  There's really only one power up.  If you match 4 or more a star appears.  Match 3 stars and you get an explosion.  Of course a lot of obstacles can only be cleared with the explosion.  When you have to repeat a board... and you have to repeat a lot of boards...the tiles are arranged the same way, and sometimes there's only one order to do things in, at least at the start.  There's frozen tiles, foggy tiles, squares that fire off cannons, ladybugs to kill, lava to drip into a mold, keys to unlock padlocks, half-coins that have to be brought together, stones and boxes to break, squares that fire off sparklers, and fire that you have to direct to frozen coins...all in one board a lot of times.  I usually finish with about 5 seconds left.  you have to play 3 to 5 boards to get enough money to decorate, once you decorate the calendar page turns.  There's also mah-jong boards in there.  These people did Floria and the Cursed House games.  Even though I'm playing it with Funpass I'm going to have to buy it, I want to replay it every Christmas.
I'm not so keen on The Last Dream, but I think it's mainly because of my floaty cursor.  There's hotspots that are quite near other hotspots sometimes and because I'm aggravated with the cursor I'm not looking around as thoroughly as I should.  It reminds me of Dreamscapes.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

Info from the 3rd quarter financial report released by Churchill Downs (owner of Big Fish)

During the third quarter, Big Fish Games contributed revenues of $103.5 million and Adjusted EBITDA of $33.3 million. Comparing results to Big Fish Games before CDI's acquisition, total bookings for the quarter increased $29.1 million, or 34%, driven by growth in both the Casino and Free-to-Play Casual segments.  Casino bookings grew by $3.5 million, driven by a 9% increase in average bookings per paying user compared to the third quarter of 2014, offset partially by a 1% decline in average paying users.  Free-to-Play Casual bookings' growth of $31.1 million was driven by a 158% increase in quarterly average paying users and a 71% increase in average bookings per paying user.  Our growth in Free-to-Play Casual bookings was driven by the continued success of Gummy Drop!, as well as the successful launch of Dungeon Boss in part due to being selected as an Editor's Choice game on both the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores. Premium bookings declined $5.5 million, or 17%, primarily driven by customers continuing to shift from paid PC games to free-to-play mobile games.  In addition, the strengthening U.S. dollar (USD) as compared to other currencies where our Premium segment operates resulted in conversion to lower USD bookings of approximately $1.0 million.

link to report:  http://ir.churchilldownsincorporated.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=939050

Number of PC games released this year is 430.  Last year, 457 games were released.  Looks like BF has given up on free to play for the PC.  Only 4 new free to play games released on PC this year, compared to 17 last year.   PC players just refuse to make in game purchases, so BF (and other companies) will continue to focus on mobile gamers who are willing to spend.
