As they say, first world problem in the grand scheme of things. No Lily no AppleCare. And it's off warranty. For now I'll just have to use it as is. It's about half the cost of a new one to do their off warranty replacement with a refurb one. Sooooo I'll have to wait and see what sort of Xmas bonus I get as well we have adopted the US Black Friday sales so I'm going check things out then price wise. But it's not imperative. I've jerry-rigged a solution so I don't get the little specs and slivers of glass all over.

That's rough Oscar. You near a mall, they always seem to have a place that repairs cracked screens. Might cancel your warranty, but if you are already out of warranty, it might be worth a shot.

Sorry about the screen. I've been lucky and never broken anything.
I just got a 40" TV, Best Buy had it as a pre-Black Friday sale. $159!!! It's got a great picture. I'm not normally into TV much but I made hubby leave it on all night, lol. We always have Xmas on hubby's Best Buy card. Trouble is, we buy at Black Friday, or before, and then we have nothing when it comes to Xmas. Oh, well.

I was watching it while I had a soak in the tub. It's unfortunate that the cover didn't flip closed when it slipped. And no I called a couple of places and they won't do the crack repairs. I did real on Google US places that did that but it doesn't see to crop up around here. I thought it would be an easy fix. No such luck. I'd say at least 2/3 of it is covered in a spider web of cracks.
Enjoy the tv, but beware it's a slippery slope to becoming a tv junkie. I hold my hand up. ive never put one in my bedroom or I'd be up all night. I know that's probably your only private space though.

Hi Mila, Glad you liked the video. I don't get tired of watching it, nor listening to the song and bonus is, he is so good looking. Nirvana, I listen to all the time. I have all their cd's and put my favorites on a cd that I keep in the car at all times. Anytime a lame song comes on the radio I just pop in my Nirvana cd.

Hi everyone!
I'm home!
I survived the 34-hour trip and the nightmare in Frankfurt airport!
I'm currently sitting here, all nice and warm and cozy, watching the snow fall outside.
And to think it was 40 C (about 110 F) when I left Sydney on Wednesday.
And it was even hotter on Friday, with 43 C (about 116 F) at the airport!
And it's not even summer there yet!!!!
I'm SO glad I'm out of that heat and back here in the snow!
But what a change!!!!

Welcome home, Stusue. What a climate change! Only worry about the essentials right now, you're going to need time to rest up again after that trip, please don't overwork yourself this week.

Thanks, Wendy!
And don't worry, I'll be taking it really easy for a while. A friend came around yesterday with all my mail and went shopping for me, just to get some essentials, like bread, butter, milk. My place is like a pigsty and it was so depressing to come home to! But my friend's gonna come around again this week, do some more shopping for me, and help me clean up! Wow!
I needed some tablets (the reason why I returned so early) so rang the doctor first thing Friday, got a script faxed to my chemist, then rang them and asked them if they could deliver them to me, as I wasn't up to going out. I'll have to get to the doc's in the next week or 2 to have my regular blood test, but it can wait until after I've recouped a bit.
