Just 7 (or 8? ah the time zones) more sleeps to go! I hope the journey is snafu free and just goes as smooth as silk.
I have never, even thru my teenage years ever coloured or even gotten hi-lites so I have no idea what's good products and what's not.

stusue -- I'm praying that your trip home won't be too hard. Also that you get some time to recover.

Oscar, only 8 sleeps to go! I just hope I get everything done way before I need to so I don't have the usual last-minute rush! But I'm having a mammogram and ultrasound the afternoon before I go ... I've been way too sick to organise anything before now and that's the first available appointment. I so hope I'm already packed by then...
As for colouring my hair ... I won a perm back when I was 20. I, of course, don't need a perm, so I asked if I could have something else done for the same value. So I got blond streaks done at 20. I've been colouring my hair ever since. I've been all types of blond, brunette, red, streaked, permanent colour ... the only thing I haven't been is black. The good thing about colouring my hair since I was 20 ... when those pesky grey hairs started appearing no one noticed as I didn't suddenly start colouring my hair!
But I just wish the colour lasted longer as, apparently, due to the structure of my curly hair, the colour breaks off or something so you lose it really quickly and you just have the bleached colour left.
But that's okay. It just ends up being the usual honey blond it always seems to end up no matter what colour I start with, which actually blends in quite well with the few grey hairs that I have (**fingers crossed behind my back**) and, being curly, that also hides it.
Well, we're gonna walk down the beach now to get some fish and chips for lunch. Then we really need to start sorting things out as we've been busy making appointments and organising things all morning.

Thanks so much, Lily!
First I fly to Hong Kong, then change planes and fly to Frankfurt, then change planes and fly up to Bremen, then hop in my booked airport shuttle taxi to my home, which is about 40 kms away. I get home about 11 am so then I can cry when I see the state I left my house in, pull myself together and go get my tablets, get something to eat, then crash and resurface sometime in the ... hopefully ... not too distance future.

I was just thinking about you and your trip, stusue, and thinking it was coming up pretty soon. I'm praying for strength for you to make it through the prep part, travel and finally getting back to your own bed safely. Have you had someone checking your house, doing whatever maintenance needs done so you don't have all that to face upon arrival?
I always wished I had been born with naturally curly hair. My best friend in HS had it and hated it, esp. when we hung out at the swimming pool in the summer. I've always had to have perms because I have hair that has absolutely no body to it, doesn't look good straight, terrible bed head so to manage it, I have to keep it moderately short and use a curling iron to style it. I use to frost it back in HS through my 20's and used a color called lazy lilac which always gave my brown hair, soft tan highlights. I've had a great beauty operator for the last 20+ years who gives me perms that no one can even tell I've had one and I use a color treatment that has no bleach and washes out in about two months so I just can change the shade from warm brown to auburn which colors my natural frost now. My mother had beautiful white hair the last ten years of her life so hope mine looks as soft and pretty as hers did whenever I decide to quit hiding the gray.

I'm kinda wondering how grey my hair has become but I don't really want to know, lol.
They're having a pre-Black Friday sale at Best Buy so I ordered a 40 inch TV for $159, figured I probably wouldn't do any better, and it was online, so no crowds. We just have a small one in our room, hard for me to see. I got a few video games along with it and also a new Google Chromecast, hubby left ours in Florida by accident. The Chromecast turns a regular TV into a smart TV, you can stream Netflix, Hulu, etc. with it. TMobile just made a new announcement that they have a new way to compress data so you get 3x as much, and they've doubled almost everyone's data besides, and now they're letting us stream Netflix, Hulu, and other services (but no Youtube yet) without counting it against our data, same as they're doing with the music services. You have to use their lower quality streaming to get it for free, but it says it's DVD quality and should still look pretty good on a phone or tablet. If you want to stream in hi-def it comes out of your data. This is an insane good deal for someone like me, now I don't even need regular internet. I'll have to look for a signal booster before I go to work again, though, cause TMobile can be hard to get/poor signal once you leave the city areas.
Hubby's construction job fell through, he was going to replace someone who left but I guess the boss decided he didn't have enough work at this time of year to bother hiring someone. But he's been hired for a dishwasher job, the lady said call the day after Thanksgiving and she's put him on the schedule. I could even hear her through the phone so I know it's true, lol. Part time to start but at least it pays $10/hr. Not super fantastic but it will bring in enough to cover some bills and let us have a night out occasionally. There's not a lot of work here, he's been responding to ads but ??? Like the other day someone advertised for a carpenter's helper and said it would be helpful if you knew painting and tilework. Hubby responded, he knows general carpentry, he paints well with a brush and he's done some tiling on floors, but not walls. The person responded (pretty quickly) saying he had a job doing the surround on a fireplace, did he know fireplace work???? Huh? That's not at all what your ad said you were wanting. But at least he's emailed/called a fair number of these ads, so if they need somebody later on maybe they'll call. But for right now the dishwashing job has it's own appeal. No money to deal with, no customers to deal with, just go in, do your drudgework and collect your $10/hr. He didn't know the restaurant so we looked it up and it seems to be an upscale banquet facility so they will probably be jam packed with Christmas parties next month.

I had a terrible IPad accident. It slid off a shelf and went facedown on the bathroom tile! Smash. Very little of the screen is not cracked
