Re: The Chat Lounge

I'm glad it was such a reasonable repair Wendy. Fingers crossed you make it back pdq.  Good luck with the new living set up.  Will you have seperate quarters so to speak?  Shared kitchen and bath? And ugh about the poop.  I don't get that.  I pick up daily until there is too much snow.  Then I'm still out there at each thaw.  Come spring it may take me a couple of hours (I've got .25 acre backyard) but I can not stand to leave it. Blech. Don't get me started on my neighbours!

Re: The Chat Lounge

Today I'm attempting a floor repair!  I have ripped up the carpet and there is some glorious (not) 80s lino underneath.  But some has been ripped up in a couple of spots and I need to patch it to even it up to the top of the Lino.  Wish me luck!

My sis and her dh are coming over Saturday to help me lay the new laminate.  So today I have to get the baseboard and quarter-round and get it painted for install.

I'm quite disappointed though.  I had someone who was coming in to paint the room and build in a closet across one wall.  He has yet to return my call.  Nice.  He has done work for me before.  As well a friend was going to pick me up the trim for half the price plus I drive a small car.  I asked several times over the past few months and then again this past Sunday.  Told him if he couldn't to let me know.  Tuesday evening he tells me he can't.  In a text. I say that's unfortunate.  Keep in mind this is after telling him twice in three days that if he can't let me know as I need to get it painted etc for the weekend. I was in the middle of cleaning up an extensive trail of pee at the time from kitchen to backdoor as ( I swear Eddie has add) as Eddie had left himself short and was peeing as he ran to the door! I can't believe there is that much pee in a dog! First accident in 6 weeks or so, hopefully the last.  Anyways I get another text a while later from him saying I've made him feel like shit, well done!  Shaking head.  I texted him back told him what had happened and he should have called me if he was po'd.  This is why people shouldn't text.  Long story short, I texted back then called and left a message and he hasn't replied.  I don't feel like I should be responsible if he feels guilty or whatever.  It really is ridiculous but if I lose a good friend over this then he wasn't that good a friend to start with I guess.  Opinions?

Re: The Chat Lounge

I don't know, Oscar.  I know what you mean, though.  Like, it's alright if you can't help, but give me some notice so I can make other arrangements.
I'll be done with work a week from Monday.  Hubby is supposed to start a job this Monday.  It's in the construction field, I'm so happy he's getting a man's job, he loves to paint and saw and hammer.  If he's gone all day I will be happy to see him when he gets home and I won't mind paying attention to him.  It's when he's home all day watching TV and bitching about every little thing that comes on the news that drives me batty.  Life looks way better than it did a few months ago.  Well, except that spending winter up north part, lol.

Re: The Chat Lounge

How did the floor turn out,  oscar?  Did you make up with the friend?   I find it best when asking favors (or even if the other party  offered to help)  is to set a time limit like in 3 weeks time or so.  For example I am doing this project and would like to get it completed by October 19th.  Will that be a problem for you?  And either they say yes or no and that way you won't be strung along for months.

wendy...Good for your hubby.  Things are looking up for you 2 this year.  That's good to hear.

And it's not so bad in the winter once you get used to it.  I love how quiet and still it is at night.  Of course, come March I am complaining that winter has worn out its welcome.  Now scram winter it's almost springtime.  I'm getting mighty sick of you now.

Re: The Chat Lounge

The floor looks great Sun.  As for my friend, I don't have any issues with him and figure the balls in his court after two texts and a message but he hasn't bothered to contact me. not much I can do. Yea deadlines are what I should have done.  I did that with the floor. Someone was going to get it for me at Costco, I don't have a membership.  Two months go by nothing so when my sister saw it on sale and offered to get it I said sure. It annoys me to depend on people with this stuff

I'm with Sun, love the stillness some nights and walking in the snow. But I'm sick of it by February or maybe January. Lol

Re: The Chat Lounge

I just tried the most amazing thing and it worked!!  The dog had a tick on his forehead and I couldn't find my tick remover thingee.  It's like a spoon with a slot in it; you put the slot around the tick's neck and pull.  It never worked the best, anyway.  So I looked up on the internet how to remove a tick.  Someone said to just rub the tick around and around in a circle and it would just pull it's head out and leave.  I tried it and it worked within 10 seconds!!!!  The person in the video used their finger, I couldn't stand the thought of touching it so I used a paper towel.  I swirled it for a few seconds, lifted up the paper towel and the tick not only was out, it was heading away from the dog.   How come I've never heard of this before?  No muss, no fuss, no tick head left inside.  I love the internet

Re: The Chat Lounge

Today is my last day of work.  Last night was the last night of going to bed alone.  This morning is the last morning of waking up alone.   Hubby is driving up this evening, we're going to camp out here until Wednesday and enjoy the mountains of New Hampshire.  The leaves are really good right now and we will take the scenic drive and go play in the mountains with the dogs.  This is one of our favorite places to be.  And after we leave the majestic beauty of New Hampshire I will go live in an actual house like an actual normal person.  I know life will be driving me crazy again shortly, but right now I am happy.
