Re: The Chat Lounge

So sorry to hear about little Eddie's ailments.  Had to look giardia up as was not familiar with it and ugh, sounds like an icky thing to have.  My pups got tapeworms right off the bat but had been exposed to flea problem and it took that long to show up.  They're pretty healthly and are hearty eaters ~ Baxter is now 11.6# (Mr. Chunk Monkey) and Bailey is 11.2 so they are bigger than I thought they were going to be.  Guess silky terriers are bigger than yorkies.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Sorry your guys had problems early on.  I'm glad they are healthy now and eating well.  They still seem pretty small.

I think I'm going to be spending the winter up north this year, yucky, yucky.  We can share a house with another couple and their toddler for 700/mo our share.  I'm here right now.  My dogs get along with their dogs great and they like the baby, too.  Hubby is happy and hasn't had his nightmares since he's been here.  We're only a block from the bay so it's a nice area and a decent rent considering the location and that it's a house, not an apartment.   There might be a problem with getting the utilities switched to a new name because there's a big unpaid bill so everything is contingent on that so my plans might change last minute.   What's it like to have a normal life?

Well, the landlord doesn't like the idea of two more dogs moving in, so I don't know what's going to happen.  It's a royally messed up situation in the first place.  The baby's mama is a girl my husband helped raise, Casey, she's like a little sister to him.  It's the house she's been living in for the last nine years with her family, it was down to her and her mother and her mother just up and moved in with her boyfriend last week.  It might have been alright, but she told the landlord she moved out and now the landlord wants to redo the lease and raise the rent.  I hope it works out somehow cause hubby wants it so badly.

Re: The Chat Lounge

My computer messed up and auto somethinged without me being able to stop it and when it was done it didn't recognize the administrator password anymore.  Tried everything I could but I was only able to access it as a guest and all my game progress was gone!!!!  Looking at the internet it seemed I would need to reinstall the OS!!!  So desperately I retyped every password I could think of (I didn't have anyone set up as admin and when hubby signed into an account when he got here it made him admin) and I finally hit the right one.  I'm sure I had already tried it but maybe I mistyped something.  Anyway, when I got back in all my game data was still there and I set myself up as an admin, too.  Live and learn.  One of these days I'll actually back my stuff up, lol.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Yikes Wendy!  Scary stuff! I'm glad you were able to get your stuff back! Um...I thought there could only be one administrator on a system.  Since it's your computer I think you should be the admin and hubby should be able to use it but not be an admin

Re: The Chat Lounge

I write it on paper, Mila, and then I lose the paper.  I'm so happy, I just found a bra that I lost over a month ago.  I got sick of those wires poking me and bought a wireless one, really liked it, wore it a couple of times and lost it

Re: The Chat Lounge

Things are actually looking pretty good for the house.  I guess the landlord said the extra dogs would be okay with a deposit and making sure poop was picked up.  The other couple leashes their dog to the front step in the morning and just lets the poop mold out there.  I love pooper scoopers and can't stand to have a poopy yard so no problem there.  I was itching to scoop poop the whole time I was there, lol.  First stop, Petco.  I don't know about being around a toddler, though, the one day I was there, looked over and he had his chairs on top of the table, standing on them reaching for the ceiling fan!!!!  How do you manage to raise them without them killing themselves?  And it's all too easy to warp their little psyches.  Way too much pressure for me.  Oh well, it will probably be good for me.  We'll have a little village to raise a child.
I really liked living in the mobile home last winter after all those years in an RV and it was horrible living in our small one for those few months so I'm really looking forward to living in a house.  If we make noise there's no neighbor running to the office to complain, and there's no chickens anywhere around us.

Re: The Chat Lounge

I was going to drive to the next spot last night, good thing I didn't because I broke down shortly after I started.  One of my spark plugs broke off.  Didn't even know that could happen.  The engine sounded like something exploded and then started making an awful racket, I crept along to a wider spot on the shoulder and pulled over.  When I looked under the van to see if anything was leaking I noticed a spark plug laying there.  I touched it and it was burning hot so I knew it was mine.  I called/went to about a half dozen mechanics before I found one that would look at it.  I guess sometimes a piece can get in the engine and ruin it but I got lucky and they got the rest of the old one out and put a new one in.  Only cost $61.  I figure it was a buck for the plug and 60 for labor, lol.  I don't care, I was envisioning a couple thousand for a rebuilt engine.
