Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I finished the main game of Awakening: The Redleaf Forest Collector's Edition.

I am underwhelmed.  The ending was a big letdown.  I really think the intention was to end the series with the Skyward Castle, but because sequels sell so well, a decision was made to drag the story out for another game or two.  And there's a big disconnect between the information regarding Dreadmyre in Skyward Castle and the info in Redleaf Forest.

I guess after I finish the bonus chapter I'll soldier onward and play Awakening: The Golden Age Collector's Edition.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

How long has this been on the 'About Us' page? (bolding done by me)

Founded in 2002, Big Fish is the world's largest producer and distributor of casual games, delivering fun to millions of people around the world. Through its mobile and online distribution platforms, Big Fish has distributed more than 2.5 billion games to customers in 150 countries from a growing catalog of 450+ unique mobile games and 3,500+ unique PC games.

After successfully transitioning from a PC-centric to a mobile-centric company, Big Fish has emerged as a top grossing mobile publisher worldwide with a portfolio that includes the #1 mobile social casino game, Big Fish Casino. The company is headquartered in Seattle, WA, with regional offices in Oakland, CA, and Luxembourg.

Interesting to see that the mobile catalogue is 'growing' but there's no mention of growth for the PC catalogue.

Meanwhile, the number of games released for PC continues to decline each year:

# of PC games released by June 30 in 2011 - 271   total for year - 509
# of PC games released by June 30 in 2012 - 243   total for year - 482
# of PC games released by June 30 in 2013 - 233   total for year - 468
# of PC games released by June 30 in 2014 - 234   total for year - 457
# of PC games released by June 30 in 2015 - 202   total for year    maybe 400?

Yikes Tirama!  I've never seen that or heard that.  I know that after FAUNASPHERE ended (3 or 4 years ago) some of the people who worked there were4 transferred to a team that was working on mobile games.  I wasn't aware that BFG SUCCESSFULLY TRANSITIONED FROM A PC-CENTRIC TO A MOBILE-CENTRIC COMPANY.  Wow!  Just Wow!

Interesting, no?  I'd love to know just how long that has been on the About Us page.  Was it there when the announcemnet about ART and AK was made?  While the mods were assuring everybody that PC gaming was very important to the company?

I don't blame BFG for concentrating on mobile games, that's where the money is.  BF became the place to buy HOPAs and HOPAs have become very costly to make and appeal predominantly to women in their 60's and older.  I just don't like the Cool Aid the mods have been trying to get us to drink, constantly telling us nothing has changed.

Think about it.  400 games a year, and that includes 104 games that are the SE versions of games already released, and some free to play games.   And we wonder why we're having trouble finding games to buy.

I am debating on whether or not to get anything in this sale.  has anyone demoed the new Phanasmat? or Witches Legacy.

Oscar, I got Witches' Legacy CE in some other sale but got both Phantasmat CE and Subliminal CE (can't wait to play this one!) in yesterday's $6.99 sale.

One I definitely don't recommend as a CE is Tibetan Quest - I got a replacement coupon as 2 of the achievements didn't register and when you get to the locked extras you only get to replay 8 HOSs and 8 (out of 24) MGs!  Definitely not worth the money, although I liked the game.  And I'd only recommend you get the SE if you really like the demo as what you see is what you get.  But it would be a nice long SE.  I only got the CE as someone was in the forums from the developer, seemingly genuinely to want constructive feedback.  I'll type up a full review another day as it's nearly midnight and I'm dead on my feet after a really gruelling day.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

Thanks Stusue, I did pick up a few games in today's sale:

Danse Macabre Thin Ice CE
Subliminal Realm The Masterpiece CE
Spirit of Revenge Elizabeth's Secret CE
Queens Tales Sins of the Past CE
Witches Legacy the Dark Throne CE
Phantasmat the Dread of Oakville CE

There are a few more but SEs will do and I have coupons to be used up.

Surface Pantheon, the game that wouldn't end.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

Ahh, it finally ended.  I liked it.  Great voiceovers, SE had a decent ending.  There were some good puzzles in there.  If I ever run out of games I would probably replay it.  Then again, I really like the Surface series and would probably replay all of them.   It had a jump map, showed where all unsolved areas were, not just the ones where you could do something at the moment.  I like that, it makes you think harder instead of just handing it to you.  There were things to do that were hard to figure out, like the graphics might be blurry so you couldn't really tell what you were looking at, a sweet spot might be really small, or you couldn't tell the action to take by looking at a problem, but they just upped the challenge a little, you could just keep wandering between active areas or if you used the hint it told you where to go and what to do. I'm doing alright on Island Tribe 2, so far I haven't had to play anything more than twice to get gold.  It did throw you into the game abruptly, I was glad I had recently played the first game so didn't need a primer.  I'm in the 300s on Queen's Garden and I still have that GH hopa to finish.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I have 2 punches left on my card and 3 PCCs that expire on Friday.  Does anyone want to swap a PCC today to get a punch?

If not, I could get a CE and use a PCC that expires next month to fill 2 cards.  However, of the 3 CEs I'm looking at, I don't think any are CE worthy, none having enough extras.  Has anyone played any of them?

Spirit of Revenge: Elizabeth's Secret CE
Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Tracks of Terror CE
Shrouded Tales: Revenge of Shadows CE

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I decided to fill my 3rd punch card today since we get bonus punches and redeemed two pcc's. There's only 1 MOnday left in the month and no guarantee that it will be a bonus punch day.

Got the last 2 Fantasy Mosaics games that BF released.
