Hello KristenFre, Welcome Do you like to play casual pc games too?
Nice review stusue! I am glad to know that the SE is adequate because that is what I picked up in the BOGO sale.
I'm glad you were able to find some games Tirama and take advantage of the BOGO.
I'll be starting Awakening: Goblin Kingdom this weekend or Monday. I think that this one is the last one I previously played before, so once it is finished all the rest of them will be new games to me.
I started Dark Realm: Queen of Flames for that group play this morning. What a beginning!
Fire, flames and fire banshees that stole my pops and wrecked my town. Game, so far, is very linear...more like playing a book. It makes it seem like you are part of the action when you can't wander off and explore on your own, but must deal with what is in front of you. The CE has 113 5 star reviews so it must be a good one. I like it so far.
I did one HO scene that was pretty neat. The spirit of my dead mom sang a song (very pretty, almost celtic) and key words in the song were objects to find.

Hello AtheneKrr Welcome! Do you like to play casual pc/mac games too?
I picked up the latest Phantasmat game using the code SAVE I was able to get it half off. I don't know what it is about Phantasmat, but I like'em. I didn't even think to wait for the SE. Anyways, It's been so long since I got a CE game I can spring for 1 now and again and especially when it's on sale. I haven't demo'd it yet, so when I have time to play it'll all be fresh.

The Mystery Trackers I just played really left me flat. I didn't find it challenging at all. An example, one puzzle you had to find one crystal petal, just one. Put it in the puzzle. It had a ring of petals and a ring of round gems. You had to move the petals to its corresponding gem. All you had to do was click on the two to switch. Um ok, why even bother. The graphics of course we're great, the story interesting but could have been more but the puzzles really were basic.
I started Haunted Hotel (something) Death which has a recycled sort of story but I like this series. I like helping Detective James. So far though the challenge is missing.(again) Lovely graphics, spooky atmosphere, a storyline. I'm not looking for a brain buster but why can't they make advance or expert harder than just no sparkles no skip no hint. Actually up the challenge level of the puzzles, something ERS does to some degree.

I love the games where you can choose to have the puzzles harder, Oscar, they had that in the latest Puppetshow that I finished recently. I have a lot of Haunted Hotels but have never played any except for maybe the first one.
I started Surface: Pantheon, the one about the train that disappears in the newly built tunnel. The voiceovers are very good. I only bought one Surface as a CE, finding the flowers was so easy it turned me off of their CEs so I always get the SEs and am happy with them. I also started a GH HOPA, but now I can't remember which one it was I'm going to try Mystery Tales The Lost Hope and see if that's it. The husband of a dead woman asks her brother to come visit him, implying that he will be able to see his sister again.
I finished Northern Tale with all gold, they had one bonus stage if you did. I had to look up a walkthrough for a couple of them, it was a pretty good game. Tried Vik;ing Saga and Rescue Team but didn't like them so I started Island Tribe 2 and then I'll go to Northern Tale 2. I'm on level 270 on Queen's Garden 2. I guess it's endless, keeps recyclling through the layouts, I've read. I really like it because you get a special bonus for the matches where you match across and down. They have some really hard layouts where the only way to clear a block is to manuever a bonus into just the right spot. Very challenging.

I am debating on whether or not to get anything in this sale. has anyone demoed the new Phanasmat? or Witches Legacy.
I finished up Haunted Hotel Sudden Death, it was quite short in the grand scheme of things but fun with some interesting puzzles. Plus I'm picking away at Castle just when I feel like doing a couple of HO scenes. Up next I think I'll take a peek at Voyage and see what that's all about. I'd like to see another decorating game come out along the same premise of Gardenscapes or Yard Sale. I especially liked the Yard Sale decorating tasks.
I had a little laugh reading a review over at BFG, something someone hated and they spoke for all of us (tongue in cheek) about how much everyone hates helpers and why oh why does BFG put them in? LIke somehow BFG is writing the code for these terrible creatures. Personally I have no issue with helpers that are useful no matter how cute they are.

Agreed Wendy. I enjoy the Haunted Hotel, probably the newer ones, I'm not sure I have the first two, for the mystery aspect. Detective James looks so much like a Brit actor I've seen a lot of. I have to remember a show he's in and do a google, then I'll post his name and everyone can have a look and see.

I read a post about the HAUNTED HOTEL series written by the original Developer. I think he said the last one they actually did was CHARLES DEXTER WARD. After that the series got shopped out to another Developer. People seem to think that the quality tailed off quite a bit with the new Developer.
Yikes! Another sale? At least this one is a "real" Game Club 1/2 off sale.
