I have never watched Castle either and it was just a so so game for me. I only rated it C+ but did like the clean graphics and the puzzles. Have a couple of the Murder She Wrote but only started one and it was ok. The Elvis one was another so so game for me but I really enjoyed the actual pictures and the extras, (video, I think?). That made it memorable.
I'm really frustrated with Nightfall Mysteries: Curse of the Opera right now. I was enjoying it a lot and was about 2/3 of the way through when it seemed I may have reached a glitch. I was supposed to receive some anti-freeze that was near a frog that I fed a fly to??? and use it on a frozen area. There was a hammer in a block of ice and no matter what I used it wouldn't break. I think, if I got the anti-freeze, I used it on a frozen gate lock. Well, I decided to uninstall and reinstall and I thought my progress would still be where I was in the game but it started from the beginning, requiring a new profile. Started playing it again, doing fine and thinking I was nearing the spot from before. When I went to play last night, it was at the start again, needing a profile. WTH!! I'm not feeling like starting over again and will probably send off an email to CS and get a coupon. There were lots in the forum having save problems but I had been able to go in and out just fine so don't know why all of a sudden it lost my progress.
Hate to trash it just yet as I was really enjoying it and want to find out what happened. Anyone else have this kind of problem when they played it?

I didn't have any problems with the game, Tee.
I finished Forest Legends, I'm on a roll, that's 3 games this week. Didn't particularly like any of them, but hey, I got them done (or almost done). Forest Legends doesn't have HOs. I used the jump map a lot. If I really like a game I tend to walk, if I"m not liking it I use the jump map. A lot of people liked the graphics, I didn't care for them much, thought it was a bit dark. If you're idle more than a couple minutes the girl starts talking about how she has to save her beloved, got a few chuckles when I stopped playing to talk to people and she started blathering. I hated hated hated her voice and she talks a lot. There were 70 'memos' to read plus some other reading. Glad it's over.

I started Cursed Fates Headless Horseman PE from Gamehouse. Sun gave it a good review and I'm liking it, too. There are horseshoes to collect, you can buy things to decorate your office. I read that people didn't find all of them, that's because they're anywhere and everywhere. There might be two in a scene and I've found them in the HOs, too, so that makes the Hos more enjoyable. It does have one of those strange diaries that tell you things that didn't happen in the game, I like diaries so it gives me a real reason to read it. I've never actually read (or saw) Sleepy Hollow but we spend our 4th of July in the Catskills, I think that's where Sleepy Hollow is supposed to be, so very fitting.
ETA: OMG, I laughed out loud. The barkeep is telling Crane about the Headless Horseman, that he's looking for his head and kills everyone he sees. Crane asked him how they know about the Headless Horseman if everyone that has seen him has been killed! LOL.

Hi!
I've got the afternoon off and so am going to play a game ... not sure which one, though.
I haven't read back but I just quickly wanted to let you all know that if anyone was thinking of getting ...
Riddles of the Past
Released 13 March 2015 by GameHouse
Released 16 June 2015 by BFG (so only a few days ago!!!!)
it's today's FREE game at Game Giveaway of the Day!!!! I thought they only had old games!
I was demoing it yesterday and thought that I'd really like to play it but didn't think I wanted to buy it or use a PCC on it when there are so many other (better) games to get and so hoped that GameHouse would get it so I could pay it when, lo and behold, I checked out the day's free game at Game Giveaway of the Day and it was Riddles! You could have knocked me over with a feather! I was SO happy but also a bit perplexed that such a new game was offered. Oh, well, don't question why, just say thank you very much and download it!
Well, I'm off to play a game. YAY!!!!
Hope you're all having a wonderful day!

Riddles of the Past - straight SE
I've just finished playing and here are some notes I just jotted down after finishing ...
Length - took me about 2:45 - no skips, just used the hint and map a few times to check where to go to next - only used the transporter a couple of times by accident ... so short
HOPs - none
- the bubble type of HOs only - everything found in the scenes, no zoom-in HOPs
- but not FRAGs
- you need several things to do/make something and they would show in bubbles around the object
- eg. you need secateurs, so you have to find both halves and a screw
- sometimes everything was found in the scene, sometimes not (inventory items)
- all objects about normal size and found where you'd expect them to be
- once you've found everything in the bubbles the game would then fix whatever it was and then a MG
MGs
- quite a few, especially near the end
- most v. v. v. v. easy peasy
- 2 or 3 difficult to work out what to do
- 2 or 3 required a bit of thought
- some were original
- some were after you'd found the info - eg. the code for a safe and it was put there for you to use
- all bar these ones ('cause they were so easy) were fun
- some looked like thinky ones - but all you had to do was turn/click/swap until they went green one by one
V/Os - yes but sometimes way over the top
Lip Syncing - yes but not very well done - very basic and didn't work at all with the speech
Graphics/Animation - I liked the graphics but minimal animation
Music - good but just a continual loop - but I don't think a very short loop
Map - jump - in 3 different sections for the 3 main areas - quite a large town you visit
Hint - animated puppy (v. cute!) - takes you to the next active scene - shows you what to do in a scene
Recommendation - I had a lot of fun playing this game, and it ends possibly leading into a sequel. It's very basic with no super duper extras or whizbang gadgets/gameplay but it's a good story and fun. However, given that it is so basic, short, and very easy, I recommend it but only with a PCC.

I know I played Riddles of the Past with Funpass but I don't really remember it, except for the bubbles, which I like. I know I liked it alright.
Nearing the end of Chapter 2 of 5 in Cursed Fates: Headless Horseman and still liking it. You play each HO as a list and a picture so the second time through is pretty easy. Personally, since I don't care for the HO scenes, I prefer half as many scenes that are replayed over twice as many original HO scenes. The downside is you're getting inventory from HO scenes that are reactivating so you think you're stuck cause you've done everything and found everything, you don't get unstuck until you find that reactivated HO.

Got a replacement CE coupon for Cadenza: Kiss of Death. I was really disappointed in it. Good until end of year. I have another, I'm going to use one on the CE of True Fear 2 when it finally comes out.

The following is from Boomzap's June newsletter:

Aside from pledging, you can also help out by spreading the news on Facebook, Twitter, and everywhere else. Here are the important links:

Since when has Boomzap kickstarted? Have they done it before? Are they now doing it because they no longer have funding from BFG?
Tirama, you seem to know what's going on and I thought you might have an idea. I just found it interesting.
At least they're also making this game for PC!

I downloaded an app a couple of weeks ago that shows what trackers there are on each page and you can choose to block them. I noticed that there were 7 trackers on each game page at BFG but, when I blocked them all, the reviews disappeared.
Through trial and error I worked out that only one was needed to get the reviews back ... BazaarVoice. I googled it and found that companies use it to get info about reviews - how many hits each review gets, etc.
So I wrote to CS to ask about this, and asked what sort of information was being tracked and what sort of info were they gleaning from me. This was the reply:
It sounds like you've been trying to look at some of our reviews recently and noticed that a tracker you'd blocked helped show those reviews. I understand wanting to know what your computer is using. I can definitely help you out however I can.
I first want to assure you that no sensitive or personal information is gathered by the site. The tracker you're seeing is most likely there to enable us to view how many views each page gets.
As far as it being labeled a tracker, it could actually be a script that allows the game pages that you're viewing to communicate with the BazaarVoice servers to pull in the review data. In case it helps, BazaarVoice is the third party vendor who hosts and helps moderate the reviews you're reading!
.
I now allow BazaarVoice but still block all the others.
