OMG, how could you resist ~ he's a little furball. Are his eyes still closed? I've noticed since following the rescue group I got my little guys from, real pet lovers will move hell and high water to keep their pets, help their pets, do whatever's needed. So happy for you and your new baby, oscar. Many happy years of companionship to come.

oscar: OMG!!!! What a cutie! And that's only at 3 weeks? How big is he going to get???? I take my Freya to Banfield in PetsMart. For spaying we are going to Kansas Spay and Neuter Clinic, then there's a separate $17 place for microchipping. It's a lot of work ... and mileage .... doing everything at different places, but the bottom line is the cost. Living on disability is living hand to mouth .... but I'd give up everything for her. Have you tried finding places like low-cost cliinics, etc.? He is sooooooooooooooooo very precious!!!!!!! Congrats and may you have many happy years together!

I want to apologize for not posting POND NEWS but there hasn't been one, even though there was supposed to be once at least once a month. There is also NO JESSICA'S PLAYLIST. Oscar took up letting us know what the new CEs were for the week ..... twice ..... and then stopped. I check the BFG FB page regularly but it's such a mess you either can't tell what's going on or which games are PC and which are not. I'm happy for Jessica and her new job as BFG but really? Someone needs to get on the ball. I haven't even received a reply to my query about the weekly previews. BIG SIGH.

Tee - his eyes are open, lol he must have blinked. As for size freya, I don't know. My other one is 130 but he needs to lose about 10lbs. In our area the vet costs are comparable from one to the other.

Oh, he's so much bigger than before. I can just imagine him tottering along. He's got a freckley nose, will it change to be like Winston's (that's who's in your avatar, right?) who just looks to have a few freckles around his nose, or do you think he will stay a freckle face? I love freckled dogs, they're so cute. He seems like he will turn into a big ole marshmallow, like you'll be able to do anything to him and he won't care, if you know what I mean. All laid back and stuff. June 10th is so far away, I don't think I could wait that long. And it cracks me up to think of that breed of dog mixed with a poodle, too funny.

Oscar, what a sweet little guy he is. Good for you for following your heart. I think if you choose giving him up, you'll would have regreted it when you land another job. Sorry to hear about your job loss - What lousy timing. I hope you get another one very soon.

I hope everyone is doing ok .... as no one's posted in a few days.
oscar: love the pic of the new Milo. Perfect name! How excited you must be. I'm soooo happy for you!
In MY life this week: So, I've FINALLY made an appt. for Freya to get spayed. I am going to KC Spay and Neuter because they can offer me low cost appts. I'm on a limited budget that the gov't just CUT instead of giving me my cost of increase this year. YAY GOV'T!!!! NOT!
This is major surgery.
The girl I talked to confirmed this would be WAY more traumatic for me than Freya, who would probably sleep for 2 days. SHE cried for 2 days when her dogs got fixed.
Does anyone have any spare valium, xanax, anything???
It's almost a week away .... and I'm already in panic mode!
I'VE had a complete hysterectomy. This is NO FUN at all. I will carry her around if I have to!
My poor furbaby.

Freya will be ok, you maybe not so much. Just had my two puppies (4 mos. old) fixed a couple of weeks ago and they did fine. They were a little subdued for a couple of days but didn't even have any pain meds and were back scampering around and getting into trouble in less than a week. I need to take them back in to have the stitches taken out but have an appt on the 24th for combo vaccines so will wait till then and only have one vet bill.

I still remember while growing up and watching The Price is Right at the end Bob Barker would say to get your pets spayed or neutered. It made a big impression on me.
Freyasmom I think once it is over and done with, you'll feel much better and glad that you got it done.
My mom waited until her dog was over a year until she got him neutered. She got tired of watching him humping his blankets. At least he didn't hump anyone's legs, which I would find so embarrassing.
Okay, I have a question about papers to keep. How long does anyone keep their bank deposit and/or ATM slips?
A. Throw them out right away.
B. Keep for a month to check them against bank statement.
C. Up to 3 years
D. Up to 10 years
E. Never

Freya - I have no idea why someone would be traumatized about getting their pets spayed or neutered and cry for days. My advice to you may sound callous but don't make a mountain out of a molehill and expect to feel a certain way or you will. Just do it she'll be just fine. There is no reason you would have to carry her around.
Sun - I rarely use ATMs but I just verify with my bank statement on line and toss for any and any direct debit. Because you can get historic bank statements for years I don't bother printing them or any of my bills. I just keep them electronically in a folder and get rid after 2 yrs.
