absolutely see myself in that story, just add a little girl- who loves to play in the sand, and a few animals and aquarium.
My son has a separate apartment above our house, and I swear - yesterday I almost fainted when I walked into his bathroom to clean it.
And basement- Thank goodness for the flood. otherwise I would never have been able to fix the mess.
Everything that was in there I threw - the feeling is great, I feel light and free...
And MY feeling is sad, drab and definitely . His room is the county dump ... truly. ..... there is no room to walk because of all the trash, water and soda bottles, dirty dishes (some growing a science experiment!). His bathroom is apparently so bad he uses the one downstairs. He's taken over my dining room table as you cannot see one inch of the top (trash, old mail, clothes, you name it, it's there) and I have an overly large table (probably the size of 2 regular tables together). I truly can't stand it. I won't clean it. He's frigging 33 years old and living for free (not my choice but how do you get blood out of a turnip?). How I miss the days when they were little. Sigh.
I think we need DR. PHIL!

We all know Dr. Phil would tell you to kick him out, but it's just not so easy to do it in real life, is it? I might do a little indiscriminate throwing away, though. He can keep his door closed and trash his room, but anything left out in your house gets thrown away the next day.
I popped over to your website, it's really cute. I also tracked down Barre, I had forgotten what forum she was on. She seems to be doing as well as you could hope for, sounds like she was home for Easter. She has a ton of friends over there, it's the gamingfriends forum gov started.

freyasmom...I totally get you not wanting to use your washer after stinky towels and bathroom rugs were washed in it. That's why I feel funny using some laundromats for washing my comforters & big stuff. You don't know how often they clean their machines. I did find one that has a attendant so I feel like theirs is cleaner. I have a top loader and with the agitator in the middle you can't stuff comforters in it. I think there are websites telling you how to properly clean a washing machine. I usually just like to run a cycle with hot water and bleach and no clothes in it to clean it now & again. I accidently left my husband's shirts in the washer recently. Such a musty, stinky smell. I had to rewash them.
Mila...First off your cartoon with the alligators was very funny. Sorry that your basement got flooded, but I know what you mean about getting rid of stuff. Saturday I had a yard sale and got rid of so much stuff. Stuff my kids left after they moved out (I asked first if they wanted it and they didn't) It cleared out so much room I FEEL LIKE DOING MY SPRING CLEANING instead of forcing myself to do it.
First time I had the yardsale in April and it was a hit. I think everyone was hungry for yard sale season to begin and I hardly had any competition except for some estate sales. Plus the weather was so nice.

I used to love yard saling with my neighbour. One of my best finds was a cedar chest for $10. My weather pretty much mirrors yours and it has been lovely. I was even tempted to hang out the laundry Saturday. Today blechy and gray, drizzly. But still I plodded out and walked Tank. I ordered a new pair of sneaks yesterday. I realized I really need a good pair of walking shoes, I'm in so much pain each day and I think I've got shin splints. But I am very proud of myself. At least twice a day for about a total of 1.5 hrs we walk. I've brought my daily steps up since mid Feb by over 30,000. Today I'm going to do one of my walk away the pounds dvds as we only went for a short walk this morning. My goal is 70,000 a week and now I'm averaging in the 60Ks.
I'd like to introduce you all to someone:
He was born Saturday, there were only 3, and just one boy and he's mine. As long as the name suits him when I meet him, his name will be Milo.

I wanted to show this off as well. It was my niece's 15th B'day and I made her this. It was a new technique I learned last week. Every colour section is made up of 6 rings. Plus these great magnetic clasps.

What a cute little furbaby! My Freya just celebrated her "unofficial" birthday. Her "official" b'day will be celebrated on the Anniversary of the day I got her - May 28. Trying to go backwards, we figured her actual birth date would've Tax Day, give or take a day or two, so we announced to as her "unofficial" b'day We did a mini celebration but the BIG DEAL will be on 5/28.. Freya also had her name before I even knew she existed much less had a picture - lol.
LOVE LOVE LOVE that bracelet! Due to my neuropathy, it's impossible to get a proper bracelet to fit my wrist - which is permamently swollen. PM me if I could purchase one from you. I'd truly LOVE to have one! It's just ....... gloriously beautiful!

WendyDarling: Yes, I hear it all the time - kick him out - kick him out. But, being a mother makes it just unbearable knowing he has no means to support himself once his bills, etc. are paid each month nor a car of his own. I left home at 17 due to all the abuse and I know the hardships and impossible situations one can find themselves in .... so I raised my children to know home is always here and until they felt "ready" and "safe" to go on their own, their home was ..... home. My daughter left at 21, my youngest about 24/25 when he joined the Navy and only came home after his discharge to discover Aviation School and was about to go out on his own when things went awry.
I also appreciate you visiting my Forum. Was it recently? I have changed the theme for Spring/Summer to a very pretty light blue with lots of heart and flowers. The male members will just have to get over it - loll.
SUNSHINEJ: There is a washing machine cleaner made by "TIDE". You run it on the hottest setting (mine is 250 degrees) and then it''s all nice and clean and smells good again. Also, wash mildewy smelling cloothes with some vinegar. Takes the odor right off of things! I have a newer top loader and have to use that HE only detergent ..... I LOVE my Tide pods! And, even without that middle agitator, it's near impossible to fit anything bigger than a small Queen in it. I take my blankets to the cleaners once a year when the season ends. They come home all cleaned, fluffed and .... aaaahhhh. lmao

freyamom - I'll make myself unpopular and play Dr Phil.
You're unhappy about your son's behavior but you're unwilling to set boundaries, say what the consequences are if those boundaries are crossed, and apply those consequences when he crosses those boundaries.
Instead, you sit and wait for him to change his behavior, although he's apparently happy with the status quo and has no reason to change. How's that working for you?

Aww oscar, They are so adorable and cute. I like the name Milo. I heard a good test for a name is to call it out the back door a number of times. If it doesn't sound cumbersome than it is a good name. Back a few years ago I knew of someone who named their dog D.O.G. Just Try yelling that out the back door to call them in and you will see what I mean.
Good for you on your walking regimen. Hope the new sneakers take care of the shin splints. Shin splints hurt!
You are so talented with your jewerly making. The bracelet is so nice and professional looking. It looks like something that you would buy in the store.
Freyasmom...Thanks for telling me about the washing machine cleaner specifically made by Tide. Since I am grocery shopping today I will lookout for it. White vinegar - I really should keep that on hand.
