Re: The Chat Lounge

Sent in my taxes today.  McDonalds and Burger King both had a BOGO but then I saw that Sonny's BBQ had 1/2 price rib dinners for tax day so I got one.  I haven't been there since my late husband died, we used to go there a lot for all you can eat.  It didn't seem nearly as good as I remembered, but at least now I won't really be craving it anymore.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

LOL  freyasmom - I wonder who thinks up these National Whatever Days?    but since today is National Pecan Day  I wouldn't mind celebrating with a slice of pecan pie.  Yum!

And who can forget what day tomorrow is  National Tax Day

I actually sent my ex a text saying "because today is ex-spouse day I thought I'd say hello".  He never responded.  lol

Re: The Chat Lounge

I'm waiting for a call about my new puppy.  Today was the due date so I expect I'll hear any day now.  I ran in to this guy outside the drugstore with his purebred chihuahua who I could have happily stole.  She was the sweetest tiny little thing. 12 weeks old and would roll right over for her tummy to be scratched.  Just adorable.  I'd say she was only a few pounds.

It is an absolutely gorgeous day.  20C so no coats required.  The last week has been lovely, windows wide open sitting on the deck.

Thank you ever so much!  I post "Wacky Holidays" on my Forum daily.  I wouldn't mind starting a thread and posting them here as well.  In fact, today was National Silence Day !!!!!!!

Have a lovely day/evening/night.

Re: The Chat Lounge

May I PLEASE vent?

So, I need to take a shower and bathe Freya at the same time.  Desperately need a shower ..... okay ...... I need a shower so bad I can't stand myself!!!!

Well, just say "shower/bath" and Freya takes off and sits in there waiting for me long before I've even started the water ..... she will sit there in cold water showering down on her while I try to adjust the temp.  Sigh.

I go around collecting towels (showers with Freya are a MAJOR event), clean underwear - for  me NOT Freya -  and clean pjs (again, for me)  ...... only to find NONE!  I DID find 2 baskets containing about 3 loads of laundry my daughter did for me that smell like they were in the washer overly - long (as in DAYS) before being thrown into the dryer  .... now they stink and have to be re-washed.

I WOULD HAVE just thrown what I need into a quick wash/dry and then taken a shower (w/Freya ) later tonight but my eldest son said he threw dirty, really stinky towels/rugs from his bathroom  - which he just cleaned for the first time in over a year .... no, seriously..... over a year - (so YOU figure out just HOW BAD THAT smell is ) down to the basement but decided they were SO BAD that he was just going to throw them away and replace them with new (definitely NOT with the high-brand, best quality I use ) ... then proceeded to go out shopping for clothes.

So, with all that filth and stink in MY basement, I can't/will not (ABSOLUTELY will not) go down there to do MY laundry and see where all the missing pjs and underwear could be.

Thanks Michael.  Thanks a whole frigging LOT!

Maybe tomorrow we can get showers.

Tonight this old, haggy grandmom sleeps in the nude   .... so filthy I can't stand myself.

 Who needs kids anyway?????

Re: The Chat Lounge

absolutely see myself in that story, just add a little girl- who loves to play in the sand, and a few animals and aquarium.
My son has a separate apartment above our house, and I swear - yesterday I almost fainted when I walked into his bathroom to clean it.
And basement- Thank goodness for the flood. otherwise I would never have been able to fix the mess.
Everything that was in  there I threw - the feeling is great, I feel light and free...
