Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I have been playing The Emptiness at night.  I got a couple of jolts while playing  or as Agatha Christie said in her The Body in the Library book " The heart gives a terrified leap"

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I've been debating on The Emptiness.
I just went Gamehouse shopping with my January and February coupons.  I got Jewel Quest super pack with 6 games and Rescue Team super pack with 4 games, so 10 games for free.  I don't even own any in either series so a really good score.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Wendy...Regarding The Emptiness some reveiwers mention that they were bored.  The thing is I can kind of see their point.  It is a different game than the usual.  I am not finding it boring though.  I like searching the house for the letters.  The more words you complete the more doors you open up and then you have more of the house you can search.  I give kudos to Hooligans Entertainment for giving gamers something different.

Wendy, I'm so glad I've got a new laptop so I can play Taken Souls: Blood Ritual PE

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll get to play it for a long time yet as I don't get a minute to myself here.  I'm only online now as Mum's just gone to bed and I'm here on my own tonight.  Normally there are at least 2 of us here at all times but tonight I was the only one free and I thought I'd say hi before crashing and hoping to get some sleep.  And so far there have been people here all day, every day,. either doctors/nurses, etc, or family or friends visiting.  I'm so tired and my CFS is really playing up but I just wanted to say hi.

I just downloaded Taken Souls to my laptop and it plays much better.  I only played a few minutes but I took the tutorial that I declined first time through.  You need it with this game, lol.  The wired mouse died and now I just have the wireless one and it's being used for the desktop.  I hate to use the laptop without amouse so I'll either  have to keep changing the USB thing for the mouse or go buy another one.

I think I'm quitting Mystery of a Lost Planet, it's too hard for me.  Or maybe I need to play in easy

I did the demo for Mystery of a Lost Planet and had to use the hint button a lot.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I'm currently playing Whispered Legends Tales of Middleport and of course Gizmos, the Halloween one.  I meant to say Tirama you gave me a good laugh about your cheese comment when it came to Gizmos.

I just started Whispered Legend and I quite like it.  It is the SE, actually I'm not sure if there was a CE I'd have to look.  There are no achievements but several collectibles.  I totally do not get the animals at this point.  They are very cartoony and stick out like a sore thumb in the game.  Seems like a clunky addition as do the busts.  But perhaps there is a purpose I'll discover later.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I finished Nancy Drew: The Creature in Kapu Cave.  Was very nice - it was set in Hawaii.  You could hear the waves lapping the beach while you were fishing.  A mini vacation.

I also finished Botanica: Into the Unknown.  Main game only - still have the bonus yet to go.  I had mixed feelings on this game.  It was pretty and the story was different.  Lots of puzzles, but some were tedious and others hard to do and some were hard to understand what to do.  I didn't like Sam's voice.  It was annoying, but Ellie's voice sounded just like Dana Knightstone which was good.  I like her voice.

Next up is Botanica:  Earthbound.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I've only tried ND Blackmoor and I gave up.  Hasn't stopped me from buying them, though, I probably have 4 more and Silent Spy is on my wishlist. I need lots of uninterrupted time to play games like those.  And a notebook, lol.  I did make it through the 2 Syberias, but had to live in the walkthrough.  A good walkthru place for adventure games is Universal Hint System http://www.uhs-hints.com/  They give the one at a time, step by step hints so you only see what you want.  I can't play a LFA without them.

Sun - I did not enjoy Botanica very much.  Lovely to look at, I found the kid annoying.  People kept raving about it and i thought wow I'm totally missing something here, I just didn't like it. Actually I found quite a bit to dislike about the game and almost trashed it.  I haven't even tried Earthbound.  I keep thinking I'll demo it to see if it's changed at all.  I'm also not a fan of Nancy Drew.  I do have one but I don't even like the look of them.
