Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

lol It's a banner day!

I just finished Maestro Dark Talent CE which was a fun game, not difficult and quick to play, probably about 3.5-4hrs with the bonus but moved along quickly.  No real collectibles and the bonus was unnecessary to complete the story, so a SE would do just fine.  The achievements were just the ho hum norm.  The HO scenes were nicely interactive.  It was just one of those fun games that was anice way to while away some time.

I did get Fruits, thank you Stusue.  I do like this type of mini.  This goes quick, I had finished 35 games before I knew it.  Addictive little things.

stusue -- Hope you get some sleep!  I'm glad your mom is doing well.

Tirama -- What did you think of REGENCY SOLITAIRE?

Wendy -- I'll have to try that LOST PLANET game.

oscar --  I'll get the SE of MAESTRO: DARK TALENT then.

Another dismal month for me.  I finishedf one game and bought six.  I just looked at the sale. Meh. 50% off regular price doesn't do it for me.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

lilyr - I liked Regency Solitaire a lot.   It plays very similar to the original Fairway Solitaire but isn't nearly as long, which is a good thing, IMO.  I played on the normal level of difficulty, but went for perfect hands on all the layouts.

There were enough things different from Fairway Solitaire so that it didn't feel like I was playing that game again (only it was wearing different clothes) but enough things the same that it felt comfortable from the start.

The storyline contains elements from all the Jane Austen novels and some people might find the dialogue a little cheesy but having a storyline elevates the game from the other up-and-down solitaire games.  And I've played games with much cheesier dialogue (I'm looking at you, Gimzo nonograms).

The credits were interesting.  The developer had received funding from the Regional Growth Fund, which is a British government initative targeted at areas where a large proportion of the people employed work in the public sector.  The aim is to provide more jobs in teh private sector.

Thanks Tirama.  I've read comments about REGENCY SOLITAIRE that go both ways.  Some people who don't like solitaire bought it because they liked the story.  Others said they like the card game but not the story.  Of course I own it but (big surprise) haven't played it yet.

Happy March 1st! Can you beleive it?

I started Untold History Descendant of the Sun last night. So far so good, lots to do and nicely story driven.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

Happy March 1st to you too.  Seems impossible that 2 months have gone by already.

Untold History: Descendant of the Sun is the one game I missed out getting it when it came up for Daily Deal.  I might get it tomorrow with a pcc instead.  I do like story driven games.

I did pick up today's Daily Deal  Mystery Tales: The Lost Hope.

February resulted in a win -  10 played & 8 new ones acquired for less that 8 dollars & 2 game credits & 4 coupons.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I totally blew my budge and bought with cash and coupons 25, yes 25 games!  But I did finish 12.

I believe I played The Lost Hope and liked it.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I finished another chapter of the Dana Knighstone game.  Still have to us f-i-l's ISP to post here.  PITA.  Had a long post written for the CHat thread and lost it when I lost the internet connection.

Just bought Deponia for 49cents at GOG (good old games).  I'm going to play a real game for  a change instead of FTPs now that the Valentine's event is over.  Either Fright or Taken Souls.  I have the first two Shivers, now I will have to get the last two next month with PCCs.  Really hoping True Fear 2 comes out.

Since it's Bonus Punch Monday I went to Home Page to bring  up new releases and noticed Shiver Moonlit Grove is the catch of the week so $2.99 and double punches.   I got that and Lily's Requiem, giving me 3 punches.  I have 3 more PCCs to use but I think I'll wait a week or two.  Nothing is really striking my fancy, maybe I'll get nonograms with them.  I also have a CE coupon good til end of year but nothing I want to use it on yet.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I was able to pick up 3 games today with pccs.
Sea of Lies: Burning Coast
Untold History: Descendant of the Sun
Magic Gate: Faces of Darkness

Wendy...Nice timing on Shiver: Moonlit Grove then   I enjoyed playing both those games you picked up.  I wrote a review, sort of, mainly it's a thank you note to Artogon on their Shiver series after I got done playing Lily's Requiem.
