Just finished Paranormal State Poison spring and I really liked it. I guess it's based on a TV show but I've never heard of it. It was a typical haunting/demon story but modern day with different devices to use. Everything was pretty logical and I stayed interested in the story the entire time. The map was only partial jump, you could jump between sections, but you had to walk within each section. I actually liked that, it kept me more aware of the layout. There were achievements and wolf collectibles. Good music and I liked the voiceovers, don't know if they were done by the real actors or not. I would rate it 4 stars and possibly a 5, there wasn't anything spectacular about it but it kept me engaged and interested the whole time.

This week I was in game playing mode, I guess ~ my son is out of town and had a lot of free time. Finished Midnight Mysteries: The Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy, PuppetShow: Mystery of Joyville, and The Serpent of Isis. Of the three oldies, I enjoyed Serpent of Isis the most. Although it was basically a HOG with a few puzzles, it had a good story and adventure feel to it. The HOG scenes were challenging and you had to remember to look out for the addt'l items of suspects that were on the train. I liked the different locations you had to visit and you needed to find some items in different locations before you could finish up another. Some locations had ghostly shimmers to them and could be anywhere. It's funny how one game can stick with you more than another when basically you are doing the same thing over and over. I was tempted to go on to the sequel but at 7+ hrs. decided to take a break since it will be nice to revisit later. (I wondered about the Isis in the title and if it had any relation to the ISIS we hear about in the news these days).
I just updated my list of games played for January and ended up with 12 games finished ~ unbelievable for me but guess since my folks are gone (God rest their souls), I have a lot more time to devote to getting my games played.

I really enjoyed The Serpent of Isis and I'm pretty sure it was more to do with the Greek Goddess.
You are really plowing thru them this month. My total was lucky 13 but I trashed one of them about half way thru. So twelve as well.(amemded I trashed 2 so I finished 11)
I got a sneak peak for the new Dark Dimensions I'm going to try today. Then I'm not sure what I'll play. I have to do up my list of oldies for February's challenge.
I finished off Gizmos Riddle of the Universe last night and started on Gizmos Spooky Adventures.

I played the main game of Lost Lands The Four Horsemen. Pretty decent game. Rather long which was good. Many of the puzzles were relatively easy though some of them just took a while to complete. Haven't had a chance to play the bonus chapter yet. Hopefully will today or tomorrow. One thing to note is, you have to use the map a lot to get around the world. There are like four different maps that you have to jump around especially towards the end.

I finally finished MM EAPoe a month or so ago. Didn't care for it but there was probably a lapse of almost a year in my playing it so I didn't remember much. I started Nightmare of the deep Siren't call. I remembered all the first part so I was wondering if I'd already played it, that's why I hate to do demos.

I started Awakening The Golden Age CE last night, and finished it today. It was under 4 hours for everything, that included playing it on the hardest level, which just disables the hint and skip. All the puzzles are fairly easy and you still got little remarks that gave you a hint what was needed, although in the options it said for the expert level you didn't. I generally play on the middle level but find the Awakening games thoroughly enjoyable, but not at all difficult so picked expert. It really was a nice game. the main was under 3 hours and the bonus was under an hour and ended rather abruptly. It wasn't that it needed to go on I just wasn't expecting it to end. The HO scenes and puzzles within puzzles were fun and the fairies were quite difficult to find in some scenes. I missed 4 and a couple of other achievements, that if you didn't read the list you wouldn't know about. I personally really enjoy these games and while the heroine is always fighting to save her kingdom I don't find these games heavy and dark. The minotaurs were pretty spectacular in this.
Has anyone played todays game? I think someone asked this already.
As well...2 for 1? Anyone buying tomorrow? I'm tempted to buy another GCC to get a couple of games. Today's DD is another game that I have (CE) unplayed. You know you've had things kicking around a while when they show up as DD.

I'm so out of it I only just check a couple of hours ago and saw what the sale was. I'm not getting anything. Still struggling to play what I already own.

January was another dismal month. I bought 3 games and only finished one. Now that I have a ton of quests in ART I probably won';t do any better this month.
I loved THE SERPENT OF ISIS for all the reasons tee talked about. I picked the sequel for my next game. I think the Isis is the Egyptian goddess.
I'll take a look and see if there are any CEs I want.
Based on reviews and comments I only got the SE of AWAKENING: THE GOLDEN AGE.

Based on Wendy's comments I started Paranormal State Poison Spring. I love the sound effects in the HO scenes. The HO scenes are quite fun with all the interaction. I've only just served up tea, and I haven't found any collectables or noticed any achievements, was there a CE version or is it in the SE?
