Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I don't know what to do about this stupid game.  Do I fork over the gold to continue the plane quests in the hopes that an update fixing the museum bug is released before valentine's day?  Or do I just trash this turkey?

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I just completed my dq with 21 minutes to spare.  I'm so sick of auction dq's.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I feel your pain Tirama.  And the worst part, IMO, is that Boomzap has gone quiet.  They used to be so responsive.  I read somewhere (Boomzap forum?) that the Valentine's quests are independent of any other quests.  So I'm hoping they'll be like last year and we don't need the plane or the museum.  I've gotten one DQ that asked for some resources and 3 or 4 that were minigames.  When I see a DQ with soimething like the Mythical Cameo I don't even bother.

I am NOT forking over gold to finish the museum.  It would take 1/2 the gold I have!

Wulfruna posted that on the BF forum.  She has nothing to back it up with.  she's one the people whose games is working fine telling those whose games aren't that they need to be patient.  Apparently the blue prints quests have you playing mini games galore.  So those of us who can't get in the freaking museum would be wise not to just pass our time playing mini games for the hell of it or we'll deplete our resources.

So I guess I'm supposed to be entertained by shoveling snow and waiting to see which happens first:

The museum fnishes customizing
My daily reward is back up to max (I'm on day 14)
BoomZap fixes this piece of crap

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I guess I'm not understanding what's wrong with your game and why you're not playing.  I had to find parts in the slots, I got jackpot on the gold first time and I only used 9 stars before I got jackpot and I also got a pizza out of it.  Do you have to do anything else in the arcade after you fix the plane?  Why are you going through so much angst over a few gold bars when you got them through a glitch, basically, and you have a thousand of them?  Go  ahead, spend a few, have some fun,  life's short, you can't take em with you, lol.  I haven't even started the museum yet, I figure that will probably be fixed so I'm not going to spend any gold on that, at least not for awhile.  Have you fixed your plane yet?  I'm used to not worrying about the reward since I usually miss some check-ins over the summer, and I used to miss tons of 'top of the hour' check-ins when I did have internet.  But if it's bothering you this much just put it away for awhile, no use aggrevating yourself.  It's pretty hard to play more than a couple FTPs at a time, I find, and AK and ART or so similar it's easy to drop one for awhile and not miss it.
Here's some hugs, Miss Grumpy (((TiramaSue)))

Well, bully for you that you got jack pot on the first spin.  Some people are reporting spinning 100 times.

If it was just having to pay the casino cover charge, I'd be playing.  But I'm not going to be able to fix the freaking museum sign until April 19 when the museum will finish customizing or boomzap issues an update that corrects that time glitch.  So as long as I'm going to be dead in the water after the airplane quests, I might as well save some gold and sit and wait for that bug to be fixed as well.

Unlike you, I stuck with this game through most of the long wait for an update.  I did 150 straight days of auction dq's, listed items for sale so that other people could have a chance to complete their auction dq's and handed out keys every day until my loyalty reward got set back to day 1 because Boomzap didn't fix a glitch that was reported to them back in AUGUST.

And what gold I have was won playing the slot machines, finihsing up some achievements, and given to me by two  complete strangers (they paid high prices for special collectibles to give it to me)  when I lost my glitch gold, then lost gold that I had earned after that not once but twice.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Yeah, I bailed for the last few months.  I've always been lucky at the slots in this game, but I did get really, really lucky this time.  I didn't notice how much I was charged, I just looked at what I started with and what I ended with.
I haven't even looked at the museum sign, I just started flying to the new places.
OK, I just checked out the sign and it gave me some quests.  I flew to Italy and Egypt and then they made me change my antique sign to White House Yellow.  It cost 250,000.  For a stupid little wood sign?.  I know it's pretend money but still, 250,000 for a sign for my store...  So you have that to look forward to if you don't quit..

I have no idea how much stuff I've lost over the course of the game because my games morph together every now and then.  I know I had all the pirate stuff bought on one game and lost all of it.  When I play AK I coudn't get through Leodici's quest with either of my two newer games, they merged with another game somehow in the middle of the quest both times.  Believe me, I've had my share of trouble with these games.  And forget daily logins, I can't count how many times I've lost my multiplier.  I just shrug it off and play on cause I know it's going to happen again... and again.  I'm just glad I never spent any money on these games, I'd be really pissed then.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Lily - I asked about the Valentine quests on the BZ forum and the answer I got, not that I'm sure I can trust it, seemed to imply that they are a repeat of last year's quests.  That should go over big with people who did them last year.

So we'll probably be able to play and gather gold, and maybe the quest that I never received with magically make it to my machine this year.  We'll probably have to be very careful opening up the quests and not 'x' out of them or we'll receive our reward and not be able to go for multiple sets of special collectibles that give gold.  Some of the quests may arrive showing that we already completed them.

So during the seven months, they didn't make any new valentine's stuff, and I'm guessing there's no new Easter/Spring stuff either.  So if we're still playing, we'll be hanging out with that turtle again in the toy store.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

A day or two ago I got the glitch in TRAIN ROUNDHOUSE that has a sword laying on top of a comb.  (Picky Shopper).  No matter how much I zoom in and click all around the comb I can't get it.  And today I read that an item to open a mini in the TOY SHOP is in the TRAIN ROUNDHOUSE.  So there's another quest line I can't get.

Tirama -- There's a post by someone who played up toi level 35 on her iPad.  She loaded the game onto her laptop and noted that that game was much advanced, but it wouldn't let her log in because  "her details weren't right".  She went back to her iPad game and now is level 29 instead of level 35.  Would signing in with the gear (upper right) get it back or is that only if the game disappears completely +/or you've saved to the cloud?

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

lily - I thought you were stuck waiting on the museum?  I think people have been getting around the sword on comb problem by exiting out (forfeiting their energy) and giving it another try hoping that the comb isn't on their list of things to find.

Regarding the iPad game, I know very little about how the iPad works.  Signing in with the gears shouldn't hurt anything, but I wouldn't want to be responsible for somebody totally losing their game.  Best options are contacting CS and/or posting to BommZap.    What I don't understand is why people think they can play their game on an iPad and then just sign intoit on a PC or vice verse.  That makes as much sense to me as trying to play your records on a CD player.
