Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I just looked at my GM.  Under downloads there is a tab for checking for updates -- automatically for games in the GM or manually.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I got a CE coupon to replace Tin Soldier so I have 2 to use Monday and 2 more to be used by Jan. 11th.  I ended up buying Risk, my coupon had to be used by today at Gamehouse.  I bought the PE of Gardens Inc. 3 with my other coupon, those 2 were from filling cards and now I have the 2 new ones for my membership that have to be used within a month.  I have a lot of shopping to do

Yes, Thanks Wendy & Lilyr, I did check for updates in the download tab under manual updates.  It said no games needed updating, but I don't think it is very accurate because it certainly missed the fact that I had the early version of Shiver: Poltergeist downloaded and not the updated one.  Frustrating to play 1/2 a game and can't go further because of a glitch and to find out that the glitch has been fixed, but you are not playing that version, so you must play the first part of game all over again.

Even the Big Fish website in the help section says to check for updates look at the left hand side under Download Games in your game manager.

Yeah, they're weird about updates.  Some of them show in the GM and some don't.  They used to have a list of updated games on BFG but I can't find it anymore.  I see the CE today is Gardens Inc. 3, wonder if there will be another big to-do in the forums.

The update list was in the announcments forum, which bit the dust when CCC did.  I really need to get into the habit of checking a game's forum to see if there was an update before I start playing it.

I've completed 5 chapter of A Christmas Carol.  One more to go an dthen the bonus chapter.  Had to skip two of the mini games, but since there was no way I was going to get the achievement for 10 objects in 10 seconds, missing another achievement was no big deal.  Better thangetting frustrated because I couldn't do the puzzles and the strategy guide was of no use.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Just a reminder:   January 1st this thread will be archived and a new 2015 thread will be started.  I'll also be archving the soft releases thread, the BF sales thread, and the upcoming CE's thread so that new threads for 2015 can be started.

If there are any other threads you think should be put into storage to make it easier to find current posts, let me know.

It seems like just a couple weeks ago that you archived the first thread.  Time flies....

Imo, you could archive most of the threads to start anew.  I'm not sure how others feel about it or how much work it is for you.  If you could archive my list under lists so I can start fresh, I'd appreciate it.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I started League of Light Wicked Harvest last night.  It is gorgeous to look at, not difficult and fun.  The story ticks along and it has lots of interactive ho and puzzles. I did encounter one freeze up during the maze scene that had an access error violation.  I was able to cad out of it.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I was able to finish Shiver: Poltergeist after d/ling the corrected version.  Still mad at my Game Manager which  didn't tell me that there was a update for that game.    After all that I have to say that I thought game was very engrossing.  I thought it was very good and loved the dreary weather, somber colors and spooky atmosphere.  Felt like it suited the story very well.  I have the CE and was glad I did since the main game ends with a Oh No! What happened next ending.  Also, the bonus  cleared up the mystery that you see in the intro.

I couldn't resist the pull of Phantasmat, so that is my next game I am playing.  Actually I already started it.  It still hasn't lost it's charm.
