Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

BFG CS is based in the US.   Gamehouse, which merged with Real Arcade, probably outsources their CS to India or Pakistan.

That was the case when I was a member of RA.  Any CS issue resulted in the same response:  uninstall and redownload the game.  If that didn't work, the next thing they wanted you to do was uninstall and redownload the game manager.  Then it escalated to uninstalling and reinstalling Windows.

I quit RA for a while and when I wanted to get back into gaming, discovered that they had just merged with GH.  I lost access to about half a dozen games, they had just disappeared from my purchase history.  They included several Mystery Case File games.  Another two dozen games were still there but refused to play.

Supposedly people were supposed to receive coupons to replace the games that had disappeared from their purchase history because they were 'no longer available' at GH.  Their messageboard were filled with posts from people complaining that they the getting the run around and didn't receive a coupon or even an answer to their e-mails.

That was when I joined BFG.  I don't care how cheap GH sells things, I don't want the hassle of dealing with them.   I don't even look at their website anymore because it contains outside ads and every time I have checked their site, I wind up with tons of cookies being dropped on my computer.

Good luck in straightening out the mess.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I tried Lapland Solitaire at BFG.  It's a bit strange on replaying a hand, you can only replay the one you're on as far as I can tell, but it's so Christmassy.  I'm getting it, but I'm afraid it isn't going to be until after Xmas since there was no BOGO this weekend.  Christmas and New Year's Eve are on Thursdays, I wonder how the sales will work.  I have my 2 CE coupons to trade in, have to do that this Monday or next.   I still don't know what I will get with them.  Was the bonus of MCF Sacred Grove worth it or should I go with something else?  I'm planning on using several GCCs for SEs during the next BOGO, but I need 2 good ones to get as CEs.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finish a great game called The Lake House: Children of Silence.  Full of gloomy & overcast weather, great atmosphere to go with a compelling story complete with masks.  Ever since I played Scratches I have hated masks. Creepy things!   I felt like playing another game with gloomy & overcast weather and a compelling story, this one without masks, so I began Shivers: The Vanishing Hitchhiker.

Tirama...Thanks for reminding me.  It has been too long since I have deleted my cookies and browser history.

I had one problem with Gamehouse back in the day that they had live chat.  My game page with my purchased games was just showing a white page.  I got helped with over that, so when I now go to my purchased games they are visible and I can d/l them.  Nowadays, I would hate to explain that in a email.

wendy...I don't remember how good the bonus and alternate ending are in MCF: Dire Grove, Sacred Grove It was 6 games ago.  They must have been all right.  I don't remember thinking bad about them.  I did like finding the collectibles so I could make screen savers.  I did enjoy using one of the screen savers, but it wouldn't allow me to use my landline phone at the same time it was on my computer.  I don't is that the usual or just plain odd?

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Ooh, Sunshine, two good ones.  I have the CE of Lake House, the bonus is about the father/grandfather, whichever it was that started it all.
I have to get my games this Monday or next, I'm always scared I will forget if I put it off.  Unless there's something super special coming out this week there's no need to wait.  I didn't like the second Love Chronicles, although I hear the new one coming out is supposed to be different and Christmassy.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I tried to play Home Sweet Home 2 Kitchens and Baths the other night and the cursor was floating all over the place.  It was impossible to play.  I wrote in to customer service and they just sent me a CE coupon.  I love getting a CE coupon as a replacement for a BOGO game.  It has to be used by early January so I can use it this month or wait and put it on January's card.  I've pretty much decided on Rite of Passage Hide and Seek as one of my CEs, still debating on the second one.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I've been playing Gizmos lately, boy those nanograms are hard to put down.  I find myself saying just one more just one more and an hour has gone by!

I have yet to hear anything back from BFG and I still can not dl from my purchased list.  Very annoying.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished Shiver: Vanishing Hitchhiker.  It is the second time I played it and it was as good as the first time.  Still in the mood for good story games with gloomy, overcast atmospheric weather, so going to give Shiver: Poltergeist a shot.  I hope it is good as the first one.

Any other suggestions?

Oscar...How annoying.  Hope you get it sorted out with BF soon enough.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

That sucks, Oscar, I got a replacement CE code like the next day.  Of course that's easy for them to do, with your problem they have to actually troubleshoot.
I bought Vanishing Hitchhiker for my tablet, it was on sale for 99cents.  How do I make a cent mark if my keyboard doesn't have it?  Of course I won't remember if I do find out.
Hmm, it was a dark and stormy night....
I liked Infected, but it's a hospital/asylum
Mystery Trackers Raincliff?
Penny Dreadfuls Sweeny Todd?  don't think it was raining but it was dark
Phantasmat?
Sorry, not much help
