Tirama - it was me.  I was trying to dl Christmasville as well but keep getting an error.    I'm playing Christmas Nonogrmas on my IPad.  I can't beleive it is December 2!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

freyasmom...97% of my games come from Big Fish, but I have bought from a couple of other places.

I have used Gamersgate.com in the past to buy some point & click adventure games that were a good price. The kind that Big Fish don't carry.   There is no demo there and once I had a problem trying to d/l one of my games from gamersgate, so I sent them a email and didn't hear anything back.  So customer service isn't the greatest.  They do carry casual games, but the price is higher than what I can buy them at Big Fish.

I first started with gamehouse.com and it is a really good company.  They have demos, punchcards and I have used their customer service in the past with good results.  Their inventory of HO games were not as huge as Big Fish so that is why I don't get as much there.  They also have discounted games.  $1.99 -  3.99  &  6.99 for collector's editions and double packs.

Enjoy your monitor Wendy!

Freyasmom- I only buy stuff from other sites if it is a stellar deal.  I have bought games from Legacy, Steam, Gamersgate, Gamehouse and direct from Playrix.  I have never had any issues. I've also gotten the free Game of the Day before.

Sign up for the Playrix newsletter for sure.  They don't send many and they have $2.99 CE specials every now and then, it seems to me like they release their games on their own site first, then send out a great email offer shortly before the game comes to BFG.  I get my Royal Envoys and Fishdoms there.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I've updated Eipix in the Developers List of Games on page 1.

I realize I didn't have Hidden Expedition: The Crown of Solomon, so I'm going to take a gander to see if it is any good.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished MCF: Dire Grove, Sacred Grove, the main game, bonus game and the alternate ending.  I found all the puzzle pieces and did them up and used my favorite one as a screensaver.  Which is weird because when it is on the computer I can't use my landline telephone.     I almost got all the achievements except the secret one  It was too secret for me   and for taking 10 minutes in a HO scene even though I left to do a load of laundry and made some hot cocoa and for not playing in the Master Detective mode.

I wasn't disappointed in this game or with getting the CE.  It did seem easier than other MCF games that I have done, I barely had to do any head scratching at all  except with the puzzle locks which I liked a whole lot     I was still able to immerse myself into the game atmosphere and  liked being back at Dire Grove.  This game, of course is not a continuation of the first Dire Grove, but more like a different story in the same setting.

I think I will do like Oscar and Tirama and d/l a Christmas game for my next one.  Good idea Oscar.

Christmas Tales: Fellina's Journey  - played
Twisted: A Haunted Carol  - played
Christmas Stories: A Christmas Carol - played
Christmas Stories: Nutcracker  -  Ooh, I found a unplayed one.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Who here has played Holiday Bonus Gold?  My husband was saying he would like to play another M3 game and he really enjoyed the Spooky Bonus one and I do see BF has a Christmas version called Holiday Bonus so wondering if it is just as good as Spooky Bonus or not.  Thanks.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I don't have those first two games, and I haven't played Holiday Bonus Gold.  I'd be interested in whether it is as good as Spooky.  I started A Christmas Carol which I had never played.  I'm really enjoying it. And I did finally get Christmasville dld.

I'll have to check the Eipix list. I did just play their Fearful Tales game which was quite simple but beautifully done.

Is there a new Christmas game coming?

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I believe that there will be two new Christmas games coming out.

Christmas Stories: Hans Christian Andersen's Tin Soldier  by Elephant
Christmas Eve: Midnight's Call by ERS

oscar...I really enjoyed A Christmas Carol too.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

HOLIDAY BONUS GOLD is cute and fun but not nearly the game that SPOOKY BONUS is.  Even the DEV says that.  Maybe have him trial it.

I'm glad to see that, on balance, you liked the new MCF.  And that Secret Achievement IS very secret.  There were a few people who thought they'd figured it out but it's rather arcane.  I think the 10 minute thing might be a glitch.  A couple of other people said the same thing.

I'd live to play a Christmas game but I really want to finish AMULET OF TIME before I start anything else.  And that game just isn't doing much for me right now.

I loved FELINA'S JOURNEY!
